'Wait 'til you see the Blount's Mulberry Hill...so begins an entry in nationally known, best-selling author's, Inglis Fletcher's Lusty Winds for Carolina. This spot, patented as a plantation in 1669, is now eliciting similar accolades from those who stroll its expansive confines three centuries later. Mulberry Hill is situated majestically on the Albemarle Sound and is surrounded by an 18 hole golf course. The National Registry manor house has four levels with an elegant dining room and living room entered into by a grand hall, all with 12' ceilings. A common area, with a fireplace, kitchen, laundry room and office are on the first level and is perfect for dining, as well and relaxation. A terrace is just off this common area and is ideal for dining, as is the porch just above----from both vistas, guests can view the spectacular sunset meeting the Albemarle Sound. An FAA approved airport (Northeastern Regional Airport) is located within a mile and a half from the property. Also nearby are the Outer Banks and Norfolk, just an hour and fifteen minutes. The owners are willing to line up tours, sail boating cruises, flight lessons, fishing trips and golfing packages, if requested. They are both known for their Southern hospitality!

This home was AMAZING!!! Filled with beautiful period antiques that made you feel like you were in a museum instead of a Rental or Bed and Breakfast. The rooms are huge and beautifully decorated! The owners are warm, friendly, and make you feel like family instead of guests. The grounds are beautiful with wonderful views of the Albermarle Sound. Just breathtaking! Perfect getaway for two or a entire family and if your looking for a perfect place for a wedding? Look no further, this is the place for you! This was truely a wonderful experience!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This has got to be one of the most beautiful places I have stayed and with the most charming, accommodating hosts. More of a B&B than a self-serve, but well-worth a long chat with the hosts of this authentic, historic home. Stories and history reek from the walls and the tranquility and conditions of the grounds is well-worth the trip off the beaten path!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.
