The kitchen was stocked well, frig had ice maker great for packing cooler for a day at the beach, plenty of hangers in the bedroom closets, great location easy to walk to downtown and check the happenings of the derby. Air condition worked well plus plenty of fans in case needed. Loved the back yard and patio space. Only thing I didn't like was the couch it was too low for my back. Loved the breakfast cafe next to the bike rental in town also Harbor resturant good chili & the ferry dock is great for fishing. Loved hearing the cannon from the yacht club each morning and sunset. Check out the cliffs, Katima beach, shopping in Vineyard Haven, pizza in Oakbluffs and Coop DeVilla good value. Coops great tackle shop they are nice to tourist, the fish markets in Meneshia great prices and nice people. The owner was helpful and easy to contact.

We enjoyed one of the best week long vacations as a family in this cottage in Edgartown! The location of this small place is key, we could walk our kids and dog to town no problem and we enjoyed the grassy backyard and patio area. It is small and cozy, has the amenities we wanted (outdoor shower, grill, comfortable living room to stretch out in) but I would let people know the house has limited counter surface for cooking (no problem, great restaurants are part of vacation!) and the space in the cottage overall is limited. The owner Barbara was very nice and helpful with our questions before we arrived and once we were there as well. Place needs som updating, but was clean and just right for our family of 4 plus our dog who got to enjoy some quality Vineyard time! Thank you so much!!

The cottage is small but cute and serves its purpose. The location is great; you can walk to the shops and restaurants in Edgartown. Unfortunately there were a number of maintenance issues. There is a very high cleaning fee, which apparently the management companies charge. For that amount, the cottage was not clean. The floors, the kitchen countertop and the bathroom were more or less clean (there was still sand in the living room), but the microwave was full with food remnants and the fridge was not cleaned. We immediately washed all the bed linens because we were not sure if they were clean (we found hair and they did not smell clean). There was no toilette paper or paper towel or dishwashing liquid (we had to buy those). I called the owner, who was as surprised as I was and very apologetic. Obviously, she is does not reside on the island; therefore does not have much control how the individual people of the management company will do their job (the people who did clean before us should be fired). There were some additional minor maintenance issues: the two bikes, which came with the cottage, were not in working condition (one of them had a loose handlebar, the other had no working breaks); so we had to rent two bicycles. The bed linen in the larger bedroom did not fit the matrass well, it came off every night. The light bulb outside the cabin was burned out. The iron had some burned textile on the bottom; we could not use it. The TV remote did not work. These would be easy to fix. We were lucky because the weather turned quite nice during our stay (after a noreaster) and we had a great time biking around and walking on beaches.

Owner response: The cleaner in question has been replaced, which was reccomended to me by a local realty company on island with references. As the renters said I was extremely surprised and appologetic by the information I was given as to the house not being cleaned well including linens. That has been corrected. I offered to have the new cleaning company come over immediately and the tenant refused saying they had done what was needed and it would be fine. As far as the bikes go, all I can say is that the last group of tenants did not inform me of any breakage of use. The tenants before them rode the bikes and enjoyed the cottage to the fullest. I have bikes on hand for people so tenants do not have to bring or rent them for an occasional bike ride, but as they are used things do break. Had I been notified by the tenant of the bikes not being useable I would have had two more brought over from my other in-town home, but this is the first I have heard about the bike situation. As I told the tenant I would reimburse them for the cleaning fee and offered to have it taken care of immediately, but they said no and said they were fine with it. There are extra bed linens in the twin bedroom closet that fit the queen size bed as well if the linens on the bed were not comfortable for them, which are new this season. I will have the cleaning company check the iron as I now know something has been burned on it. Unless I am told of any discrepency Ian not correct it at that time. As with any homeowner, I want everyone to enjoy their stay and am pleased to correct anything that might be wrong from a past tenants stay that I am unaware of as in this case. I can only do what I am informed of at that time. I hope this will not disuade other families from renting the cottage and know that anything is taken care of as quickly as possible once I am informed. Sincerely Barbara
My husband, one year old son and english bulldog stayed here for a long weekend. We have been going to the Vineyard for years now and were so excited to find this cute cottage! The location is fantastic! You can walk to town in a few minutes. The back yard was great for our dog, who very much appreciated the space to run around, unlike his city dwelling. We grilled out every night on the back patio, ate our dinner there and lounged in the chairs. The place was perfect for our small family, just enough space. When we arrived the house was clean and found that everything we needed was there, from linens, (which we ended up bringing our own) to dishware. Barbara is very easy to deal with and very quick to respond if you have any questions. I hope to stay here again this summer! thanks!!

Our family loved this cozy cottage, easy to get into town and to the beaches, a nice quiet street for the kids to ride bikes and a good sized backyard too. Cute inside too!

We were absolutely amazed to find a clean and nice house withing walking distance from the beach and downtown. Shopping and dinning can be reached by walking or driving for 5 minutes. Lot of bike paths. The Master ensuite bedroom is situated on thesecond floor with wide doorwaysto the deck. We enjoyed quiet neighbors and heated rooms, free high speed Internet for use with laptops. Stunning neighborhood, Thank you for letting us stay at your home.

DISHONESTY AT IT'S WORST
The person who wrote this dishonest review never stayed at my cottage, never complained about a thing during his in-laws stay. It was well after their stay that he complained. His security deposit was never cashed and I reimbursed him the entire $200.00 cleaning fee due to his multiple threats of writing this type of review. In 15 years of renting I have never come across such a disagreeable and threatening person.I also have learned to not allow another person to sign the lease for other people. I have not written before this due to not wanting to give any validity to his review, but am advised I should. I hope this will not taint future renters from enjoying the cottage. Sincerely Barbara Person

Terrible! Owner does not return deposits...
Terrible! Owner does not return deposits...
Property owner is aweful to deal with. She does not return security deposits. I have sent numerous demands to her. When we got the house it was filthy, she agree to return her deposit and refund for the cleaning since it was a mess. See email: "I do not want any negative feedback regarding my homes. The people before your in-laws did not trash the cottage. I try nto rent to responsible people as best as I can. I will return the entire amount to you and absorb the cost. I trust this will meet with your approval. You will receive $200.00 plus the security deposit." This email was in August its now October and no money. Here is another email from me to her on 9/27: "Greetings- I never received our Security Deposit or any other amount back from you." Her response: "Will do." Its now 11/12 and no check! Beware before you rent!!!
