Thank you so much for saving our vacation. Our original destination was overbooked and I was devastated. But the owner arranged our stay with you and we were quite pleased with our accomodations here. Beautiful place! Was extremely pleased with the screened in porch. [Autumn] is beautiful here and the view from Fancy That was spectacular. Thank you so much!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Our first visit to the Blue Ridge Parkway region. Spectacular fall colors, so our timing and weather were ideal. Cameras don't do the view justice. We are already planning a spring time visit to see the Parkway during that season. Thank you for sharing your house with us. A great first- probably not the last- visit!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

When we arrived we were a bit concerned about the track leading to the cabin. In fact my husband got out the car and walked down. Once we'd driven down it - no problems again. We had a great time - visited North Carolina and driving up and down the Blue Ridge. We went to Galax to the Fiddler's Convention and Floyd to the Friday night Jambouree. And when it rains in the Blue Ridge - it really comes down although much to the disappointment of my husband we only had one real thunderstorm. He didn't mind doing the BBQ because he said the view was fantastic. The cabin was really well equipped. We really enjoyed our week.Owner response: We are so glad you had a great time on your vacation! Being from the "flatlands" ourselves, we understand your feelings about mountain roads, but we do our best to keep the road in good repair and it is mostly level after the initial turn. We are sorry that you didn't get more storms at night because it really is amazing to sit on the porch, watch the thunder and lightening roll across the NC piedmont, and listen to the rain on the metal roof! Thank you for staying with us and we hope you come and stay with us again!

A wonderful place to celebrate 102 years of happiness for two couples, one 50 years, and one 52 years. We enjoyed exploring the surrounding area from Pilot Mountain to Floyd, and several places in between. The music and scenery were both better than our expectations. A good time was had by all!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Enjoyed our stay!!!! Color was the best and the view was awesome, especially at night. We turned lights off and just enjoyed the evening as more and more lights appeared. Would definitely stay again, but elderly may need to know the second full bath is on the lower level with several steps. Loved all the decor. Just a wonderful place to get away. Hope to come again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

I don't know how many times we said, "It doesn't get better than this". The million dollar porch with gorgeous views of the fall colors, for sure. But also, all the nice little details - a very well equipped kitchen, night lights, homemade quilts, and fall decorations set about. A real gem of a cottage!Did you find this review helpful?
