Situated on over 350 pristine acres, La Plata Canyon Ranch offers breath-taking mountain views with a very clean and nearly new cabin only steps away from the La Plata River.
Mature Aspen groves, White Firs, Douglas Firs and a landscape that is 2nd to none! The La Plata River runs through the heart of the ranch. Lush green meadows with an abundance of wildflowers during the summer season.
Only 15 minutes from beautiful Durango, La Plata Canyon Ranch is ideally located for a memorable vacation. Part of what was Louis L'Amour's 1,000 acre 'Shalako Ranch', let our ranch serve as your home base for rafting, fly fishing, hiking, horse-back riding, relaxing and more! A perfect destination for families, romance, reunions, weddings and retreats.
Paris' Cabin:
This cabin has over 400 sq.ft. of living space on the main floor which includes a kitchen (propane stove/oven, mini fridge, sink and microwave) futon sofa and a wood burning stove for chili nights. The upstairs, open loft measures 340 sq.ft. features two twin beds and a full bed and looks out over the river. The wrap around porch includes rocking chairs and a Weber grill. A fire ring resides at the foot of the porch steps.
Adjacent to the cabin is an outhouse and modern restrooms and showers are located at the Events Center or Caretaker's home (separate entrance) at the ranch's entrance. The cabin is available for nightly and weekly rentals.

The owners could not have been more friendly and the ranch was fantastic, the pictures do not show the beauty or space available here. Although we did not stay in this specific cabin, I am sure it is just as nice and homey as the one we stayed in with our 2 sons. You can tell they went the extra mile to make it feel like home. It was well worth the money. Thank you.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.
