The Osprey Nest is a private residence which is wonderfully maintained. This Non-Smoking home is professionally cleaned prior to your arrival. The sleeping accommodations are in queen beds. The second sleeping area is a murphy bed in an alcove off the living area. All appliances are relatively new and in excellent condition. The air conditioning system is a "split" system and is very quiet (like central air/condx). The floors are all porcelain tiled. The home is light, bright, and airy. Free WIFI for guests use.
In addition to the actual residence, there is a large deck terrace (1200 square feet) adjacent to the master suite with patio furnishings and a charcoal grill for your private use. There are super views from this deck. In addition to the home you have the use of the boat basin. You are allowed to dock one boat up to 26 feet in length. It is private and secluded with private homes on either side of the property. The actual location is close to both the ocean as well as back-country fishing.
Please review the Osprey Nest website for availability and to see many photos, a floorplan, as well as a overview of the property. See for yourself the panorama view from the jetty on the property page (use curser). It just doesn't get any better.

We arrived to this very nice property after hurricane Sandy late at night after a long and frequently interrupted journey. With help of the exact description given beforehand we found the property without problems even at night. We had been advised in writing to strictly park our car only in the designated area for our apartment, but when we arrived, the parking was taken. Being hesitant if perhaps due to the storm the previous renters would not have been able to leave, we went up the stairs to check, but everything was dark – however there was a sound inside. So we tried the doors anyway – we had been advised to enter and instructions had mentioned the entrance being left open and the keys being inside. Well, both entrances where locked but by chance the owner had given us the key-code – just that the light was not sufficient to enter it, so that we had to go back to the car to look for a flashlight. Once inside, we fortunately found the apartment empty – but the fire alarm buzzing. Even that late at night, we called the owner and where advised to just disrupt the alarm. Early next morning we had a rude awakening when very noisy demolition works on the property next door started at 07.30 AM – we would have preferred to know about them in advance, also that they went on for six days a week from 07.30 AM to 05.30 PM nearly without interruption, shaking the whole house (perhaps one of the reasons the fire-alarm went off). With only Sunday without demolition, we unfortunately had to stay away from the apartment for most of the time. I think whoever bought the property next door will construct a new house there, so the noise may go on for a while. With daylight we found the beautiful terrace badly victimized by the storm, so after breakfast (regrettably indoor) we started to remove the fallen dry foliage and recollected the chairs blown over the whole terrace and cleaned them and the table. The stains from mildew remained however – a service team coming to remove them a couple days later removed the stains, but not the water they used to do so, so the stains started to form again after some days and the still water attracted breeding mosquitos – so that we had to have another go at the terrace to be able to use it. The terrace is beautiful and extremely big – it will be difficult to find a comparable one! It would have been optimal if it could have been better used, but with just the base for the umbrella and no umbrellas available (apparently other guests lefRecommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

My husband and I joined my cousin and her husband for a week at Osprey Nest. Our experience was wonderful! We had breakfast either at the waterfront or on the deck every morning and dinner at the deck every evening. We took full advantage of the charcoal grill; outdoor lighting was adequate for after sunset grilling and eating. We were happy to join the neighbors who gathered at sunset each evening for drinks and snacks and conversation. We learned about the best places to eat and received lots of insider recommendations on what to do. Such a friendly place! We were delighted when a young manatee showed up to entertain us just at sunset. Even in early February the water was warm enough for swimming. We also enjoyed ocean kayaking and found the rental company (within walking distance) most accommodating. We also enjoyed running across the highway to Debbiy Do's for wonderful homemade soups and sandwiches. Osprey Nest was well appointed and comfortable. Although it was air conditioned, we opted to open the windows and use the ceiling fans. Since it is on the second floor, there was a wonderful ocean breeze keeping things stirred up most of the time. The Murphy Bed was extremely comfortable and totally adequate for adult use. It was a little heavy and so we left it down most of the time. Except for make bathroom access a little tight, it wasn't a problem. The kitchen had everything we needed except a cork screw ... and we bought and left one for the next visitors. The ice maker kept us well supplied, and the blender was great for creating icy beach drinks. I was a little disappointed in the lack of good walking/bike riding paths. There were places to walk and ride, but not "pretty places" and walking along the highway wasn't at all pleasant. We walked five miles east one afternoon along the highway. The path ran out pretty quickly, and it turned into quite a hike! I also wish there had been a bit more information available about local eateries and activities; however, the neighbors filled us in. Don (the owner) was most helpful and accommodating. He was quick to respond and very helpful. I would not hesitate to highly recommend this place ... and I do hope we can return one day.Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway, pet owners.

My husband, daughter and I have been staying at the Osprey Nest for the last 6 years. We would not stay anywhere else. The grounds are always beautiful as are the sunsets. We like the quiet and cozy feel of this condo. There is plenty of room for all of our dive equipment and the boat dockage is right by the front door. There are so many restaurants in the area that you can reach by boat and the sand bar is only around the corner. We are blessed to have found this place and the owner Don is the nicest person to rent from. This condo is always clean, inviting and comfortable.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

This condo is everything that is promised...beautifully decorated, immaculately maintained and well-equipped, including very comfortable furniture and beds. The owner has paid a lot of attention to details and to making his guests feel welcome and at home. Wonderful views of the bay, just steps away from the boat basin...be sure to enjoy the spectacular sunsets from the jetty. The location is right in the heart of Islamorada and close to all the attractions and conveniences, including some extraordinary restaurants and my very favorite bar, right on the water. You just know Jimmy Buffet spent a lot of time at the Lorelei! Every time I've been here I've had a marvelous time and highly recommend this rental condo.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This will be out third visit to paradise. The unit is clean and well maintained. The property is bayside and centrally located between the famous Holiday Isle sand bar, and Alligator Reef to the south. We bring our 13’ Boston Whaler and launch it on site next to the marina. There are several restaurants nearby that are accessible by boat and have plenty of dockage. From the marina you have one of the best views of the sun setting over the bay. You will not be disappointed.Recommended for: Adventure seekers.
