My name is Martin Rumens and I have been receiving guests at "Kildare Gardens" since 1995. With 25 years as an interior decorator with my own shop in the centre of London, I decided in 1995 to have a change of career. My hobbies are golf with an eight handicap so bring your clubs if you want a round of golf. I enjoy tennis, squash, and working out in the gym. I do horseback riding among many other sports and pastimes Like Salsa and Ballroom dancing.

"Kildare Gardens Bed and Breakfast" is a Victorian family house on the fringe of Notting Hill. The house overlooks a beautifully maintained communal park with no passing cars so very quiet. Each room is decorated differently in traditional style with elaborate cornices and paint effects.I offer you a warm and friendly welcome.

A central location is important.Kildare Gardens could not be better located. Just eight minutes walk north of Kensington Gardens and a short stroll from Notting Hill and the Portobello Road antique market.Easy walking distance for buses and underground stations. Many good local shops and the multitude of restaurants, some owned by famous TV chefs.Bars and pubs spring up all the time in now fashionable Westbourne Grove and Notting Hill. An example is The Electric in Portobello Road or Beach Blanket Babylon - a bohemian cocktail bar. Queensway has the very smart Whitleys Shopping Centre with fashion boutiques, restaurants, and an 8 screen cinema. Oh yes, if you want to go bowling or ice skating or roller blading, you can do all that too. Almost every possible amenity is close to Kildare Gardens.

My bedrooms all have en-suite bathrooms or a private bathroom. In the winter each room is heated and in the summer all rooms have floor fans. I can offer a/c if required. So warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Televisions are in all rooms, some have CD players and radios. Hair dryers included so no need to bring your own. As all my rooms are completely different, allow me to describe just one or two.

The Valentine Suite.
With traditional King-size, four-poster bed - This large room and bathroom occupies the whole of the first floor. Double French-polished mahogany doors leading in to the bedroom with a floor of Canadian Maple wood, a fireplace with electric coal effect fire, glazed doors leading to your own balcony overlooking the garden square, large TV, radio, mahogany double doors and plaster arch leading to a very large bathroom featuring a Jacuzzi, separate power shower, twin wash basins and large sash window with views of the pretty back gardens. The bedroom and bathroom is traditionally decorated with Colefax and Fowler fabrics and wall coverings and elaborate cornice and paint effects. For one to four persons. Perfect for that honeymoon or romantic weekend.

Or how about The Master Suite?
The Master Suite. This large room and bathroom occupies the whole of the second floor. Queen-size bed with bed canopy, matching smocked window pelmets. TV, and fully carpeted. Double doors lead in to the bathroom, passing wardrobes in paint finishes with stencils. A large Jacuzzi, separate power shower with body jets, twin wash basins. For one to four persons. That double Jacuzzi is tempting.

So King-size, four-poster beds and Jacuzzis. What are you waiting for?

My other rooms all have names too. All are suitable for one to two persons and most can be arranged as a double queen-size bed or two separate single beds. The Monmouth Suite, The Hereford Suite and The Blue Room. Take your choice according to your budget. I have heard guests saying "this is better than a hotel." Kildare Gardens is comfortable for "singles" too.You can actually choose which room you want and be assured it will be guaranteed for you.

Breakfast is complementary and served each morning in the breakfast room, beautifully decorated with theatrical curtains treatments and fabric on the walls. It is a great time to meet other travelers and share some of those experiences. I have even had guests discover they are in fact neighbours in their own town.

I do hope this gives to a little insight in to a "good experience" and warm welcome you will receive with a stay at Kildare Gardens.
