Wonderful Winter Getaway

We just returned from the cabin yesterday and enjoyed a lovely winter weekend away. My parents are visiting from PA and my husband, two boys (7 & 2) and I had the perfect stay. The cabin is well appointed with all the basics and loads of upgrades. The kitchen was perfect for cooking meals so we could enjoy the visit and not eat out every meal. The game room was the biggest hit, though. The boys loved "playing" pool - basically rolling balls on the table without cue sticks. There was plenty of space for all of us to have our individual space yet great communal areas. In the summer, the lake would be wonderful for fishing. The Grand Canyon is about 2 hours north and we made a quick day trip there. I highly recommend this cabin and we will be returning to beat the heat in the summer. Thanks for making your space available. It's loads of fun!

Wonderful place to ring in a family new year

What a charming and homey place -- this house and property were so much more than the photos were able to show. We came to spend the new year with our very large family from infants to grandparents, and there was room for everyone and plenty to do both inside and out. Everyone loved the spacious game room with its pool table, foosball and assortment of games. Thank you, Hickmans, for having a high chair and crib available, too. The grandchildren were able to go sledding just outside the door and larger sledding areas were just a few minutes away. The house was so clean and so easy to keep that way. And the Hickmans were always available to answer our questions before our stay and after. Hickman's Hideaway is just what a winter vacation rental should be!

Our family rented this rental for 3 nights over the holidays and had a blast. The owner was very accommodating even having shampoo, conditioner, soap, laundry soap, delicious coffee, every kitchen utensil needed, pots, pans, and the list goes on and on. The property was clean, beds were so comfortable and even more beautiful than the pictures show. The owners are so kind and very organized. I have already recommended it to many friends.We were able to sled right there next to the house and have a gorgeous view of the nearby lake. The cabin is located in a beautiful area with great scenery, a nearby gas station and mini market. We will definitely be back.Thank you for being such an accommodating and gracious host!

Wonderful Vacation Rental (California Family)

We wanted to show our teenage boys the Grand Caynon and the Hickman Hideaway is a wonderful central location for many sites in Arizona. We made day trips to the Grand Caynon, Jerome Mining Town, Sedona,and Indian Ruins ( Walnut Caynon is a MUST SEE) . The Hickman's cabin is clean and welcoming. The kitchen and living room have been recently remodeled and has modern appliances and beautiful marble counters. My favorite spot was the deck looking out over the lake and pines. So peaceful and it was great to come back from traveling and bar-b-que and relax. If you have kids this is the place to come. The downstairs family room will keep them entertained: pool, foozball, darts and games as well as a TV! Highly recommended and the owners are the most gracious people you will ever meet! Book this place now!

The family stayed at Hickman's Hideaway in August, 2011 and everything went perfect. Directions and set-up for the cabin were easy. The cabin is located on a quiet road and fairly close to the entrance, off the freeway, to Munds Park. The cabin is centrally located to all the major sightseeing activities in Northern Arizona. The cabin is roomy and has a nice large deck for lounging. The kitchen has all new appliances and very accomadating. I must say the cabin was exceptionally neat and clean. There were little touches that made it special: the linens, pillows and bath towels were a very high quality seldom found in a rental, kitchen utensils were also of high quality and the game room was so large that there was plenty of room to pull the pool cues back, even the toilet paper was the good stuff.. We were not disappointed in anything during our stay and very pleased with the whole process: booking, instructions, staying, parking...We have no hestitation staying here again!

My family had a wonderful stay at the Hickman Hideaway. We appreciated the logs for the fireplace (it was unseasonably cold while we were there), and also the little touches, like the Keurig coffee maker and the cozy blankets. My girls also loved the swings on the downstairs deck. We would love to visit again!

We stayed at the cabin the 2nd weekend of September and had a great time. The cabin was roomy and fit 4 adults and 4 kids with no problem. It was very clean, kept, and stocked with everything that we needed. We enjoyed the huge deck in the pines and had a cookout every night on the new grill. The kids had so much to do with the pool table, foosball, darts, lake, and games that they never even turned on the TV the whole weekend. The area was very quite and the beds were soft and cozy. The owners were very easy to work with and made it one of the nicest getaways we have had in years.We will be making a return trip soon.

We stayed recently at Hickman's Hideaway and this cabin was so much more than the description. The kitchen had everything that we needed and more. There are great views from the deck and the furnishings and beds were sooo comfortable. We will definitely stay again. It is an easy walk down to the lake and the area is so pretty. I love being surrounded by the tall Ponderosa Pines. Thanks again Sondra and Michael for such a good time.

Haven in the Pines

My family of 5 spent 6 days at the cabin. We had more than enough room with lots of space left over. We enjoyed everything...fishing, barbecuing, the pool table, the games. The deck is unbelievable, we felt like we were living in a tree house. The kitchen was spacious and very well equiped. We hiked nearby and spent lots of time at nearby Lake Odell. It was an easy drive to Flagstaff and Sedona. The owners were very easy to communicate with and great to deal with. We plan to return next summer and possibly sooner. This is a gem hidden in a great location in Munds Park. It was a great haven from the heat of the dessert where we live.

My family and friends had a wonderful experience at the Hickman Hideaway. The house was exceptionally clean and smelled fresh. Each bedroom had clean linens and a set of towels for each person. This house can easily accomodate 10 people (if you don't mind sleeping on a sofa sleeper). The weather was beautiful and we didn't need to use the AC. TWe enjoyed the lake, the pool table and foos ball, and the beautiful view and refreshing breeze from the balcony. We highly recommend this home to anyone interested in a clean, comfortable vacation house to rent. The owner's were great to work with, also! Thank you so much!!!
