Charming Log Cabin on Private Pond Nestled in Woods.

My charming log cabin sits on 100 acres of private land which adjoins 2200 of New York State Forest. It overlooks a small pond which is stocked with bass. You are welcome to catch a few and cook them fresh on the Weber gas grill. The front porch is comfortable with beautiful views of the pond, hills and the valley below.
It is a cozy cabin with a sleeping loft and comes with a fully equipped kitchen and a shower bath. The loft has a double bed and the first floor has a double futon.
Bring your bicycles in the summer or your cross country skis or snowshoes in the winter or your hiking boots year round, as the stare forest is full of groomed trails. Or bring your books and just relax and enjoy your surroundings.
We are only 12 minutes from Ellicottville, New York which is a quaint little ski and resort town. You can ski in the winter or golf in the summer. There are world class restaurants for fine dining and wonderful shopping.
It is the perfect place for solitude or a romantic getaway. I hope you will come and enjoy this special place on Golden Hill!!

This cabin was perfect- cozy and very private. My husband and I were looking for a quiet get-away in the woods that wasn't too rustic and this cabin was great! We were able to bring our dog and he enjoyed running around the fishing pond right outside the front door- all of us enjoyed sitting (in the snow!) on the fabulous porch watching the sunrise. Truly this was a delightful and calm weekend! Holiday Valley Ski Resort is right down the road, not too far at all, but far enough that you won't feel like you are in the middle of all the action if you want to spend the day on the slopes.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This cabin was exactly what we were looking for- quiet and picturesque. We spent many a blissful evening cooking dinners and talking on the front porch. Afternoons were spent rambling through the woods (Alleghany State Park is amazing) and lying in a hammock we strung up in the trees. Bette was an excellent host, and we cannot wait to make our way back here again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I stayed at this charming cabin for a romantic get-away weekend, and it was just perfect. The cabin and surroundings are beautiful beyond words -- definitely surpassed our expectations. The website and reviews cannot adequately describe the perfect peace we found at this place. The porch -- which runs the length of the cabin facing the pond and is amazingly furnished with beautiful log furniture and rustic decorating -- was where we spent virtually all our time. The cabin is situated right on a little pond stocked with bass and surrounded by woods on all sides, totally secluded from neighbors. It is beautifully decorated in an antique/rustic style, yet contained all the amenities we needed -- a full kitchen for preparing meals, modern bathroom with a nice hot shower, cozy sleeping loft at the top of a spiral staircase. It’s the perfect size for a couple. The best part is that it is so secluded that you can't help but be at peace there. Just the sounds of crickets and the wind blowing in the trees ... no cars, voices, lawn mowers, sirens... ahhhhh! We went biking and hiking on nearby state forest trails, but other than that, we didn't leave that beautiful porch the entire time we were there. The full moon over the pond at night was gorgeous! Bette, the owner, was extremely hospitable and took care of our every need. I would definitely recommend this little cabin for anyone seeking the peace, tranquility, and serenity of nature -- It's like a little piece of heaven! We’ll definitely visit again.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway.

My girlfriend and I wanted to have a peaceful and relaxing Spring Break, away from the crowds, and Bette's cabin more than fit the bill. The cabin itself is wonderful- perfect for two people, but large enough for 4 or so (1 queen bed and 2 couches). Only one tiny complaint about the set-up: the bedroom is upstairs and the bath downstairs, with a tricky spiral staircase to navigate. The full kitchen is great, the bathroom modern and nicely done, and the kitchen table was big enough to spread out a giant jigsaw puzzle. The best part: the view. With a beautiful porch and private pond, there is NOTHING MAN-MADE (except a rustic fence for the nearby horse pasture) WITHIN VIEW. No houses, no roads; only the beauty and sound of nature. There was a nice portable fire pit that we lit up the sky with one night, and a charcoal grill we cooked with a different night. We enjoyed driving around the country roads all week, taking in the spectacular views, horses, farms, and flowers. It was perfect, and Bette was so kind! Thanks Bette!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Wonderful, beautiful, peaceful getaway...this truly is a place to get away from it all. Bette is a wonderful host and the views from the front porch of the cabin could not be more breathtaking! Ellicottville is a nice, close town to visit for shopping and dining but, you really need to never leave the tranquility of the cabin. Thanks Bette, our visit was wonderful! We will be back...Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

What a quiet and wonderful getaway cabin! The decor looked like it was straight out of Country Living magazine! So much attention to detail. Bette was a wonderful host. When an unexpected situation came up with our little newborn (traveling on his first vacation to meet his New York family) she went out of her way to help accomodate our needs. If you are looking for a place to unplug from the world, this is a great spot to refresh your spirit.Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

If you are looking to get away from it all, this cabin has a lot of relaxation to offer! The cabin was cozy and cute. It was comfy and had everything we needed for a weekend away. We enjoyed sights and dining in Ellicotville, which is a short drive away. It was a great getaway, loved the little log cabin and sitting on the porch swing gazing at the pond! We'd love to come back in winter for some x country skiing.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers.

My husband and I stayed at the cabin recently and we cannot say enough good things about it. It is very private and secluded, in fact we both noted how nice it was to sit on the porch and not hear any cars, lawnmowers- anything other than nature. The cabin itself is adorable and has every amenity you could think of, and is decorated to perfection. We definitely both felt like we were at home, very comfortable to kick back and relax. As wonderful as the cabin is, you won't want to spend much time inside as the panoramic view is breathtaking. We enjoyed both dinner and breakfast on the porch, which has abundant seating. My husband did some fishing in the pond and had a lot of success, including a turtle! The owner, Bette, is very hospitable and welcoming and available very nearby to answer any questions. Though we do not have a pet, there was an enclosed pen and dog house next to the cabin which would be perfect for someone wanting to bring along the family dog. I looked into several properties in the surrounding areas while planning the trip and could not be happier with my choice. I highly recommend a stay here- in fact after sharing our great experience with friends and family several are interested in a stay as well. We are already planning our next trip back, which could not come soon enough!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
