We loved this property. We have stayed in several houses in Galveston and this was by far the nicest house we have stayed in. The house was clean and offer several amenities that other houses do not. There was plenty of room for everyone and the beach was just steps away. We will absolutely consider this house when we return to Galveston.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

The house is very nice, the property site is away from the crowds and the beach is very wide and easily accessible. It's about a twenty minute drive to the Strand, not a complaint just an observation. The owner does not take credit cards which is my only disappointment. As she has a large ticket item with few transactions, she could easily negotiate a 1 percent or less transaction rate and appease quite a few customers, at the least they could remove the "accepts credit cards" from the vrbo website.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: I am happy that you had a nice stay! I try very hard to ensure a "spa-like" stay for all of our guests. The location of our house promotes family vacations and a mellower crowd. Taking credit cards is very expenive for both of us! Some charge up to 5% of the entire amount. I found this unreasonable. I know that we all like to earn "points" with big ticket expenses, but I am able to provide a very nice house at a reasonable price by using VRBO's Reservation Manager system - which allow me to send payment requests to renters and allows renters to pay automatically through the VERY secure system. No bank info is stored or seen by either party - which is nice. I have had no problems with security at all and love the way the system keeps records for us (for tax reasons). Overall, not taking credit cards saves us money and saves me time - which allows me to be able to do this! Paying by check is also an option anytime. thanks for staying at Dolphin Daze!

Gorgeous house with great decks and beach views! The house was very clean and owner was extremely friendly and helpful, responding quickly to questions. Nice kitchen with new appliances. The top floor bedroom is a great hideout for the younger kids with bunk beds, videos games and DVD player with plenty of room for the adults on the floors below. Lots of stairs to climb - makes for great views, but may not be ideal for older beachcombers or folks with limited moblity.Recommended for: Families with young children, girls getaway.

I would hate for anyone to rent without complete enjoyment and capable access. I try to always ask. The height is a double-edged sword - great views though!!

There aren't enough words to describe our wonderful vacation at Dolphin Daze! The house is georgeous and no detail has been spared. Though the pictures are great, it is even more magnificent in person! we needed a get away as my mom was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. We had the best sleep since finding out. The beds were comfortable and we felt like we were staying in a castle! The kitchen was fabulous and allowed us to feed everyone in style while we were there and much more fun than eating out every meal. The views were spectacular! My 4 year old daughter loved the toys and would have been content to sit and play with them.... The beach was just a short walk over the way and led to a peaceful and calm beachfront without the hustle and bustle of people at the seawall. If it were mine, I'd never leave! Robin was gracious and helpful from beginning to end and we can't thank her enough for her kind hospitality and the sharing of her home!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway.

The house was in immaculate shape when we arrived. Everything worked and was very clean. The house, and views from the decks, were amazing, and much nicer than the pictures show. We had a family get together for a week and the floorplan provided plenty of room for everyone to sleep comfortably and plenty of privacy when we needed it (The bedrooms are not on the same level as the kitchen/living room, there are also plenty of decks to escape to). Having access to all of the beach toys was a nice added bonus as well. The house came fully stocked with toys and games for kids so they were happy (and so were we!). I would highly reccomend this beach house to anyone looking for a beautiful, well-kept beach house for a vaction with their family.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children.

We spent a week at Dolphin Daze in November. The house is lovel and the furnishings outstanding/comfortable. The house was clean when we arrived, and had everything we needed for a week at the shore. We rented this house in Sept of 2011 with another couple, we each have young children and this house was perfect. Great owners who you can tell take great care and have great pride in their house. We felt as if we were staying in our own house with the all the amenities offered (great kitchen, washer/dryer by the bedrooms/ great porches with exceptional views/ hammock, grill, etc). Very open floor plan which makes it easy to hang out and visit when at the house. Very well built, no noise is hear from floor to floor, which was great when kids were upstairs asleep. Very lose to private beach on private street. This made the vacation, such a perfect location. I would definitely recommend staying here and will be back soon ourselves. Thank you for such a great stay.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.
