This was my first time using VRBO, and I have to say, the owners of this property have definitely set my future expectations high. The condo is exactly what it says it is; the perfect environment to bring your family, filled with all the amenities one could wish for to spend countless hours at the beach enjoying yourself. I caution writing such a glowing review because I fear the word will spread and this property will be unavailable to rent in the future, but the least I could do to repay the owners is to share how wonderfully maintained this property is, and how respectful and generous the owners are. If you're looking for a solid, peaceful, and all-out wonderful place to take your family, I would suggest you rent this condo. It's a definite gem, and sure to allow your family the opportunity to spend hours on the beach, or exploring the island while on your next vacation.

For once a vacation experience that lives up to its billing . So indeed muted expectations were readily exceeded. Begining with ready and useful communication with the owner who before, throughout and immediately after our stay showed a genuine interest in ensuring that we had the best possible experience in a manner that indcated a wit and willingness without the slightest hint of hovering . I was particularly grateful for the insight that provided me a wonderful golfing expereince. The condo is not luxury but it affords all the requirements for an enjoyable stay starting with an unbelievable comfortable bed and a kitchen that lacked absolutely nothing except maybe your favorite spices. Thought we had forgotten to bring the requisite really sharp knife but no need. There were probably about 8 realy sharp knives and multiple dishes etc that allowed for optimal use of the dishwaher. Sanibel is a gem with its endless stretches of shell filled beaches punctuated by daily dolphin visits right at the shore. Renting a bike is a must and no need for a vehicle with a variety of bike paths and a serious priority given to cyclists and pedestrians. This is the least commercial vacaton spot I have ever encountered in Florida with boutique shopping and scrumptious , well priced eateries. We particularly enjoyed the Island Cow, Doc Fords and don't miss happy hour at Jacarandas with its fabulous appetizers , multiples of which constitute a feast! But during high season it pays to arrive between 5:30 and 6 if you have an aversion to wating for a seat, no matter where you choose to dine in the evening. A real treat and totally unique perspective was being able to pretty much drift along the canal corridors behind the yacht basin ending up right behind Sanibel Arms.Though we had the benefit of a friends boat, without it I would rent a canoe/kayak on my next visit to recaptrue that dreamy feeling and sneak peaks into the lives of the greats and near greats. For those interested , there is a wonderful yoga studio just off Periwinkle which allowed my non golfing partner an evigorating alternative to foresaking too many to mention, lost balls to the discretion of rather ominous looking alligators on the course. I have already been eagerly extolling the virtues of a vaction to Sanibel to many who have inquired about our expereince and would in particular recommend taking advantage of the discreet hospitality afforded by Carlton at the Sanibel Arms.

This is the second year we stayed at this condo and we had a wonderful time. We already plan to come back next year. This condo is lovely and the owners are great to work with and take care of any problem you may have. We enjoyed many miles of biking, swimming in the gulf & pool, walking on the beach, sunsets at the fishing pier near the Lighthouse, and all that Sanibel has to offer. The weather was great and we just loved our time on Sanibel. Our three weeks there were fabulous!

The owners of this condo were the best I've ever worked with... interactive, friendly, and wanting to know my experience was a good one. Condo was impeccably clean. The condo kitchen was the best stocked I've ever been in as far as necessary items to cook with. It also included all the needed beach accessories, right down to beach toys and nets for seashells! The condo location is perfect, and it is paved in a way that makes it very easy to transport luggage in and out, which is lacking in some condo complexes in Sanibel. This condo and owner really goes to the max of making sure your needs are met. Locally, there are so many things to do. I highly recommend getting a $12 annual pass to the JN Ding Darling Wildlife preserve (instead of the $5 daily pass) and driving through (or bike or walk) multiple times a day.. we saw so much.. every kind of bird imaginable.. roseate spoonbills, night herons, white pelicans, brown pelicans.. at least 12 varieties of birds... in addition we saw a six foot gator, horseshoe crabs, blue crabs, racoons, snakes, 3 turtle varieties.. it was fantastic. Take your camera AND bug repellant! Of course, shelling is awesome in Sanibel and we had a great time on the Adventures in Paradise shelling cruise, as well as Captiva Cruises. You gotta get cake at The Bubble Room! Jerry's has a great reasonably priced restaurant in the grocery store. Oh, and if you are there at the right time of the year, the farmers market in Sanibel on Sundays is not to miss... try the strawberry or guava & cream cheese turnover, and the lady who sells chicken parmigan that you just need to heat up ... to die for! We hit this up on Sunday mornings and get some things for lunches or dinners in the condo. That chicken parm is the BEST! Off of Sanible.. the Ford and Edison Winter Estate are really cool to see, and I love visiting Fleamasters (which you will either love or hate) but my favorite stores in there are Shooz and Just Dove (both in the blue aisle) I love the Springstep shoes and the owners of Just Dovi are great at doing custom shirts, and the Isaccs shirt hold color and wash up beautifully. I have MANY of them now. Also nice... I just arrived home yesterday, and my deposit refund is already being processed to the card I put it on... most places I've waited 3-5 weeks to get my security deposit back. Again, I can't say enough good things about the customer service of the owners. FANTASTIC AND TOP NOTCH.

My husband and I had the most relaxing and refreshing time at this wonderfully cared for condo. It is very clean, easy to be in, has everything you need, is very nicely appointed. We loved it. The owners could not be more friendly and kind. From a little welcome starter pack of coffee and chocolate waiting for you when you arrive, to checking in to wish you a safe trip home, they are very thoughtful people. Likewise the staff at Sanibel Arms--helpful and kind. Sanibel is a marvel--this condo made it even nicer. We rented bikes (a car only one day so we could visit relatives in Miami), and rode them everywhere as our only transportation--to Ding Darling Bird Refuge, to dinner at Traders and Gramma Dots, to getting our groceries daily at Jerry's. The Bean is a long time favorite for us too. Best though was bringing fresh fruit and fish to the condo, cooking it ourselves, and having a quiet evening. It was heavenly. We knew the minute we walked in that we would love our time, and immediately booked it for next year; same time, but a little bit longer! It was hard to leave. We recommend this particular place highly. Thanks so much to the owners who provided a place of such tranquility.

The condo is beautiful, as is the condo complex. Carlton was very concerned and helpful, and the office staff were, as usual, wonderful. My laptop couldn't connect to WiFi (a problem with the computer, not the WiFi), so I ended up using the community center ones. I was thankful the condo was right next door. We will definitely be back!

My husband and I recently stayed here with two of our children. The first thing that we were extremely impressed with was how easy the owner was to work with. He called us before our departure from NY to ask us if we had any questions. He called us again at the condo on our first day to check on us and to be sure we had everything we needed. Later in the week, my husband emailed him with a question about check out procedures and he immediately called us with answers. The next thing we were impressed with was how very CLEAN this condo was. Upon our arrival it looked and smelled sparkling clean. There is ceramic tile throughout that appears to be brand new. There was extra bedding and beach and bath towels for us to use. The king-sized bed was very comfortable. My son had no complaints about the pull-out sofa either. The photos on this website truly reflect how nice this place is. For those of you who like to stop at the grocery store before check-in, please be aware that there is a vacation package that includes the following: 2 coffee samplers (enough for a few pots using the reusable mesh coffee filter that was in the coffee maker), 4 or 5 garbage bags, a box of tissues, 1 toilet paper, 1 paper towel roll, several dishwasher tabs, 2 small bars of soap, a few packs of laundry soap, and 4 chocolate truffles were all waiting for us! There were no spices or oils, so I picked up what we needed at Jerrys supermarket. We used the grill by the pool to cook shrimp and also ate at the picnic table after ordering sandwiches from the shop up the street. We enjoyed dinners at The Island Cow and Cheeburger Cheeburger. There is a closet that has everything you might need for a day at the beach. You will truly enjoy your stay at this wonderful, updated condo! We would recommend it to others and even stay again ourselves. THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR BEACHSIDE HOME!

We just recently spent three weeks at this condo at Sanibel Arms. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and have already committed to three weeks next year! The unit is well-equipped, clean, and comfortable. The king-sized bed is very comfortable. The owners are great to work with, and the staff and other people staying at Sanibel Arms are friendly and helpful. You have such a short walk to the beach and from there you can actually walk to the historic Sanibel Lighthouse. The wonderful bike trails can be accessed just outside the door of this unit, and most evenings we biked down to the lighthouse to watch the sunsets. You won't be disappointed if you choose to vacation here. Sanibel is an ideal place for a vacation, because the whole atmosphere of this island is like paradise. This truly is a cozy beach-side gem!
