  Our family of 7 had a wonderful stay on Lake Margaret. The home was beautiful & clean and the teens loved having their own "floor" all to themselves. There was a great boat lift where we could keep our fishing boat and the scenery was gorgeous. The owner was very kind and left us a wonderful welcome note with champagne. Such a quiet relaxing time!

  We had a family reunion with 12 total adults and the house worked great for us. We brought a couple of air matresses for our younger family members. The house is outfitted with great furniture; and as the owner explains has lots of living space that can accomadate different families with their own spaces. The only complaint we would have is the front bedroom (which I am guessing is the original part of the house before being added on to) was very warm. It was not air conditioned, and almost felt as if there was heat running in there. It was great to have a washer and dryer, and it did not bother us to not have a dishwasher. We ate out often and when we did eat in used paper. The kitchen is well supplied with pots and pans and utensils. One small suggestion would be to provide a notebook in the home with "instructions for the house". Such things as a channel guide for the TV, wireless password, and such would be helpful if all in one spot. We have been to the Gull Lake area often and found Lake Margaret to be wonderful. It is quiet, yet you have access to anything on Gull Lake by boat. We also were amazed that we were never bothered by mosquitos. Thank you for spraying!!

  We had such a great time; the chain of lakes is simply amazing. Lake Margaret was perfect for Tubing, Swimming and we actually caught most of our fish there as well. It is a quiet little corner on a very busy chain of lakes. The kids had such a blast just running and jumping off of the dock. The owners do a great job of keeping the area clear of weeds. As for the cabin it was ideal for my family and I, My wife and I stayed in the lower level with our kids, other members of the family were able to stay upstairs. As much as we all love our kids sometimes we need a little quite adult time and lower level was perfect for them to sack out and play some board games while the adults played cards and enjoyed a little piece and quite. The cabin was also in great shape and very very clean!!! We really enjoyed the stay and hope to get the opportunity to do it again.

  The best vacation home we've rented in the Brainerd area - the place is set up with three separate living areas so everyone gets their own space when they want it, plus two levels of decking and a little screen porch, all elevated looking out over the lake. No mosquitos - go figure! Visiting some friends on nearby Crooked Lake, we got eaten alive, so the skeeters were active, just not at our place - maybe because it's elevated from the lake. Two living rooms on two levels, both with nice, comfortable furniture - not the usual beat-up castoffs from the 70s you find in many fishing cabins. Just a super nice place to chill out. Lake Margaret IS peaceful, even on the weekends, and the house is located in a very quiet area with large houses and lots of trees and room between for privacy. Boat rentals are available nearby, and we also enjoying parking our boat in a slip for cocktails and lunch at Bar Harbor just around the corner. The Cowboy was a great little bar & grill just a short walk or drive, and another place just down the road - I think it was called Sherwood Tavern. Some other close by places weren't open quite yet. It was fun to tour all through the lake chain, which is quite extensive, everyone we met was classic MN friendly & nice, and we caught a lot of fish with live bait on Lake Margaret - particularly off our own dock with the Twins game on the radio. We really enjoyed this house with only one small suggestion that a dishwasher would add to the convenience.

I wish I could say that the mosquitoes simply don't like our location; however, we have a professional service that sprays our properties every three weeks so our guests do not get eaten alive. We are planning to do some little upgrades this fall, perhaps a dishwasher will make that list as well.

  We had such a great time at this cabin this past summer. Our kids loved that Lake Margaret was warmer than Gull Lake. We enjoyed sitting on the back porch and listening to the loons at night and the owner was so nice and accomodating. They even left us a bottle of champagne because it was our anniversary.
