  Wow! There is no describing the sunsets from your Kihei home we never had a drop of rain; it was truly Christmas in paradise. Every evening we all recognized what a very special time it was for our family.

  This home (with optional Ohana) is a vacationer's dream! The nightly sunsets are exceptional. The full moon sparkling over the ocean looks like a scene out the finest travel magazines. The home is inviting with a spacious open kitchen/living area, yet offers pivate options in the lower level, and Ohana. There is a large, beautifully landscaped yard. We have even enjoyed fresh fruit growing on trees right there on the property. The home and location and hard to beat. It's not far to travel south to Wailea, north to Lahina, and is only15 minutes across the island from the airport. Hop on a kayak, and you are in the middle of giant sea turtles. It is a great place for wind surfing or stand up board paddling. The beach is safe enough to feel comfortable taking kids or grandkids in the ocean for fun, or just making sandcastles on the shore. The bay in front of the house is spectacular for whale watching during the winter months. After travelling much of the world, this is one of my favorite vacation places!

  Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

  This house is fabulous - it is exactly as shown in the pictures, and when you arrive you feel you are in a tropical paradise! You walk through the house and the beach is right there, with views from the West Maui mountains and the island of Lanai to the north, to the Molokini crater and the wild island of Kahoolawe to the south.  Sunset Beach House is a perfect name, as the sunsets are magnificent - as are the nights with the moon gleaming on the water. The beachfront offers great walking in both directions, and usually has smaller surf than the northern beaches, which can be perfect for learning to surf the waves on a boogie board, or rented kayak or stand up paddleboard. The water is quite shallow at low tide, which is great for young children. My friends and I were able to try all those sports, including some windsurfing on the days when the wind was strong enough. I love the location, as it is an easy drive to Costco in Kahului, to the Ocean Center at Maalaea, or down south to Wailea, Makena, fantastic snorkeling beaches, and La Perouse Bay at “the end of the road.” The area is called "sunny south Kihei" for a reason - while rain falls almost daily on other parts of the island, it rarely rains in Kihei. When you drive further south, you even see cactus on the side of the road – a desert in the middle of the tropics. The house is on a quiet street, but within easy walking distance of a supermarket, drugstore, shopping, and multiple restaurants featuring every kind of food, and even live entertainment.  There are some great farmers markets in Kihei with home grown fruit and vegetables. We even got to eat apple bananas and the biggest and most delicious avocados I have ever tasted off the trees on the property. With such a wonderful house and view, and with the gourmet kitchen and barbeque, it was so pleasant to eat dinner on the lanai that we hated to leave to eat in the restaurants. That makes it great for travelers on a budget. Everything was furnished, from the gourmet kitchen to a large selection of beach towels and even coolers to take on excursions. The two master bedrooms both have wonderful ocean views and air conditioning, and all the other bedrooms have ceiling fans. We usually kept the windows open and let the breezes blow through the house during the day. This house was a wonderful alternative to staying in a condo, and I hope we are able to come back every year!

  I absolutely LOVED staying in this Maui beach house. It was an easy/quick drive from the airport, close to a couple grocery stores and plenty of restaurants. The location of this house is with-in just a couple miles of the most beautiful beaches on Maui. Just up the road from The Grand Wailea and The Four Seasons, it's definitely in a nice area. It's lay out is wide open so no matter where you are in the house you can hear the ocean with plenty of room for a big group. It was clean, had newer appliances in a spacious kitchen. It's iPod hook up was a nice feature we used every night while cooking and enjoying cocktails. The back yard goes straight to the beach which gave us a very private spot. I will be staying here again, I can promise you that.

  This house is amazing! It it right on the beach and has amazing sunsets every night. It it within walking distance to the grocery store and many restaurants. Just a mile down the street from some really popular beaches. There are many turtles straight out from the house. You can rent canoes and go snorkeling and swimming with them, an awesome experience. I love staying here and look forward to returning in the future.

  We've been to Maui over a dozen times and stayed in various hotels and condos around the island, but none of them have compared to our most recent stay at this house on the beach in Kihei. The location on the island was perfect, and having a back yard that extends straight into the sand and the ocean, we felt like we had our own private beach. Having a hot tub with a waterfall and an outdoor shower didn't hurt either. Whether we were in the hot tub, the bedroom, the balcony, or the beach, we always had a perfect view of the sunset from this spot on the island. Don't miss the sunsets! We couldn't give higher reviews for this house. If you're planning a trip to Maui, this is where you want to stay.

  I had never been to Hawaii before staying in this home. Hawaii is now my favorite vacation spot. The house is amazing and the location is pristine. I loved every minute of it and the only negative is that I had to return home after a week of staying in Hawaii. I will definitely return!

  This house is fantastic if you're looking for a great place to stay with a group of friends or family. You're right on the beach with a huge lawn that's perfect for playing - it was a dream for our kids (and the adults loved it too)! Just beyond the lawn is a wonderful beach. We loved that we could walk out 50 yards and the water was only up to our waste. We felt safe letting our kids play, knowing it wasn't deep and the waves are very small. The outdoor shower was a real plus also. The house is comfortable, clean, and really has everything you need. We spent a lot of time sitting on the lanai just watching the whales (there are tons of them). We thought the location was great - we could walk to the grocery store around the corner and several great, low-key restaurants. We felt centrally located, being close to Wailea and the aquarium (our kids' favorite spot) and a 20-minute drive to our favorite towns, Paia and Makawao. The owners are super friendly and attentive. They let us use their boogie boards and sand toys for the kids, which was a huge help, and they told us about great spots to go snorkeling and explore. We've stayed in some nice hotels but after renting this house on the beach (for a lot less money), we'll do this from now on - you can't beat it!

  This has been a welcome respite from Minnesota snow! The grandkids learned to ride the waves on the boogie boards. They built cities of sand castles and spent hours watching minnows collected by the streams nearby. Tomorrow we return to our chilly home - dreaming of next year when we have engaged this homey house for two weeks next March.

  This is a wonderful house for a vacation without all the hubbub of a resort. Relaxing in the hot tub and watching the sunset… everything we needed was close by. It is a very special place.

  We so enjoyed your home, the sunsets were beautiful every night - we made friends with the tlurtles and experienced a whale sighting on the last day. We hope to return to this wonderful home soon.

  The stay was great! We will never stay in a hotel again. One thing that everyone should try is the boogie board - no matter what the age. You will surely enjoy it!
