  Our family (including two teens and their two friends) ventured down to Holden Beach "Holden Hands" for spring break, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The property was very clean and well kept. The owners were responsive about questions and concerns, and their hospitality made this an easy escape for us. It was about a 5 minute walk to the beach, but so private and pleasant to be overlooking the marsh. Even though it was a bit chilly out, our kids enjoyed biking, kayaking (from the dock behind the house), fishing off the dock, beach walking and shell hunting. On cooler days there was a lot of pool to be played! The kitchen was perfect for our crowd, with room for everyone at the table, and all the "touches of home" were there so meal prep was a breeze. The porches were a great place to read quietly or to watch the sunset over the marsh from a hammock. We ventured to Wilmington to see the USS North Carolina on our one rainy day-- that was well worth the 45 minute trip. It was a great stay, but seemed too short when we had to pack up to return home! We'll hope to get back to Holden Hands again soon-- thanks Eric and Sheila for making it a great stay!

  Our family enjoyed the our week at Holden Hands! The weather was great, the scenery was incredible, and the home was very accomodating. The fishing peir provided hours of entertainment for my boys! If we weren't at the beach they were on the pier with the fishing lines in the water. We would sit on the one of the many back decks and watch them pull fish in one after another. The home was spacious, inviting, and comfortable. This is a very family friendly home and beach. Bring your bikes and take a leisurely spin around town. We would definately rent this beach house again.

  After eleven years of coming to Holden Beach for summer vacation, this is our favorite home! We hope that we can continue to stay in “Holden Hands” for many years to come. Our family was very nervous because we had never stayed anywhere except on the ocean and we were not sure how we would feel about staying on the canal. It was a huge success and we will never stay anywhere else. The ocean was easily accessible- it took no effort to get there at all. (There is a storage closet with carts, rafts, etc. if you need them.) The canal, however, offered so many extras. We were able to fish from the dock, canoe, kayak, grill out, etc. Our college boys enjoyed quietly playing their guitars in the crow’s nest in the evenings. The master bedroom has a fabulous view of the marsh and all its wildlife, a private porch with a hammock, and an old fashioned tub that invites you to soak away any weariness. This house has the best stocked kitchen we have ever seen. For older kids…yes, the internet does work and is easy to set up. For teens and adults, the pool room provided hours of family challenges. Our youngest daughter enjoyed the dead end near the house where she was able to bike, run, and skate safely, with a view of her siblings canoeing in the canal. The house its self is beautiful, clean, well stocked, inviting, and cozy. There is a unique turret room with cushioned window seats where the girls liked to read, draw, and play board games. The neighbors were far enough away that we felt we had privacy, but close enough and friendly enough to meet if you desire. Sheila and Eric were incredibly accessible throughout the rental process as well as during the stay. We not only had their email address, but their phone number as well which they encouraged us to use if there was the slightest need. There wasn’t a need though as everything was perfect! Thanks for the memories. They are precious and irreplaceable when you only get one week a year to savor family time.

  We had a great time at the house!!! It is very nice and loved the front porch with the hammock. It backs up right on the canal and the kids learned how to crab. One night we had a Big Shrimp Dinner and lots of fun in the big main room! The Pool room kept my 14 year old and his pal occupied full time!!! A very memorable trip. Great views... when we were leaving we saw a little deer running from the marsh... made us all sad the vacation was over !!

  My husband and I and our 3 grown children enjoyed a wonderful, but too brief, stay at this very comfortable beach house. We lucked out with good weather and good fishing and actually cooked the seafood we caught in the wonderfully stocked kitchen. This beach house was great and had all the amenities and more that you could expect to make your vacation carefree and fun. We would definitely rent this house again for another stay.

  Our group had a wonderful time while staying at Holden Hands. The home is in great shape and is more than accommodating. The views from the crows nest are amazing and the beach is little more than stroll from the house. We were able to take advantage of the dock for fishing and also managed to corral a few crabs in the crab pot. The pool table provided for hours of entertainment and the TV/Blu-Ray player gave us a nice movie night. The owners were very easy to work with, prompt, and facilitated our stay on very short notice...a pleasure to to business with. Overall, we had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay and hope to return again in the near future.

  We had a great week at Holden Hands. We enjoyed using the turret room as a playroom for our toddler son. Our teenaged son enjoyed the pool table & the wireleess internet. The kitchen was wonderful and well-stocked with everything we needed to prepare our meals.

  This was our second stay at Holden Hands. After having such a wonderful stay at Holden Hands last year we did not even consider staying anywhere else! This year's stay was equally relaxing and enjoyable. Shelia and Eric are dedicated to making sure that their guests needs are met. This year we also had the pleasure of meeting Eric, who informed us of upcoming changes to make the house even more comfortable. This past year they added a large family picnic table, benches on the dock and a beach cart. All of which were very much appreciated! This is where we plan to stay on future visits to Holden Beach!

  Wad had a wonderful time staying at Holden Hands at Holden Beach. The house was great and we all enjoyed the views as well as fishing off of the dock and grilling outside. The master bath was great to be able to sit in the soaking tub and was all your cares away. Eric and Sheila are great to deal with and very king to allow us to stay at their house for the week.

  We had a fabulous week at Holden Hands! Like others we particularly liked the turret room which we used as a playroom so the kids could have their own space and the safety gate was critical since we had a crawler who liked investigating. We particularly loved the hammock off the master bedroom where our littlest one enjoyed swinging and taking naps. The fact that we didn't have to go out and purchase all the little things one needs for a week's stay was much appreciated as well as the new beach cart which was incredibly helpful. We just had a blast and appreciated all the nicely thought-out details of the house. Hated to leave!
