Back Beach Cottage sits directly on the sandy shores of Lopaus Point. The private beach is a great place to sunbathe, have a picnic, or take a dip in the refreshing Atlantic Ocean. Explore the rugged coastline and tidal pools or take a short walk to the local lobster pier for lunch or dinner.
Back Beach Cottage offers two bedrooms, one with a queen-sized bed and the other with twin bunk beds. The cottage is completely furnished and equipped with bedding, towels, washer/dryer, and a full kitchen as well as bathroom with a stand-up shower. To add extra warmth on a cool summer or fall night, a Vermont castings woodstove and electric heater are provided. In the living room, sliding glass doors open onto a full deck which offers a spectacular view of the beach as well as an excellent place to socialize or barbecue.

What a wonderful little cottage. Beautifully furnished and very neat and clean. Truly the "quietside". Great outdoor furniture on the deck to sit and watch the boats and ocean. Screened in porch was wonderful to have breakfast and lunch. Short walk through the woods to Thurston's Lobster Pond for great lobster stew. My 9 and 12 year old kids could have spent the entire vacation right on Back Beach exploring the wonderful rocky coast, tidal pools and kayaking. Lots of sand dollars, sea urchins, and even a starfish or two :) Only 10 minutes away from quaint Southwest Harbor and 25 minutes to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The Bradford's were very accomodating and even mailed the clothes my husband left behind...and they were clean :) The view is so spectacular that it's hard to capture in just a photo. Would return again.
