Biggest Mistake Ever
Unfortunately this property was our worst holiday experience ever. The location of the property in terms of access to and from the main road was challenging to say the least. As seniors ,or any one with slight physical disabilities , you would struggle with the effort getting in & out. The path is narrow and in places treacherous with a 20 foot drop off to one side, which winds endlessly then comes to a steep set of stairs before you end up on the main road ,Which is a big hill. if you tackle getting out going in the other direction the path is shorter but you have 95 steep steps to deal with to get to the road. If it’s raining you feel like you are stuck in a prison, if you dare to go out at night there are no lights to find your way back, you need to rely on torches and it’s very scary and dangerous one misplaced step can send you into the gully. We had mice running around underneath our bed and on us in the bed, on the lounge behind the cushions, the roof was constantly leaking in the living room and on the toilet cistern . The steep steps going up to the bedroom has a rail on half of one side only and was dangerous coming down them. Don’t be fooled by the picture that is shown in the advertising, on arrival there was none of that. The property is very old and needs considerable improvements. The mosquitoes at night make it impossible to enjoy sitting outside, even using bug spray doesn’t seem to help. The downstairs bed was damp, and if a couple is sleeping together you have to climb over each other as there is no room to walk around the bed. I had to ask the staff to clean the window mesh and the bed canopies as they were thick with dust, the blinds are covered in black mold . I booked this property for 1 month and it was such a mistake we contacted the owner within an hour of arriving as we New it wasn’t suitable for us to stay, due to the access but he was only prepared to give us back half the the amount we paid, as pensioners we could not afford to loose that. We were so upset and felt we had no choice but to stay , and tried to make the best of it. Overall if we had been made aware of the effort required to access this property we would never had booked it. This needs to be made clear for future guests. We had a terrible holiday, Henry the owner was happy he got his money . The staff Pia and Kutut were lovely and assisted without question when required. Writing a bad review is unpleasant, but in this case necessary.
