What a great place to spend spring break (or any other Florida vacation, for that matter). The place is very clean, well equipped, has very friendly and attentive landlords (great communication!!!) and an unbeatable view. No matter what window you look out of, you will either have unobstructed view of the beach and ocean (living room/kitchen) or the beautiful lake behind the house (bedrooms). We stayed at other apartments in the same complex (different owners) and this one was so much better maintained and cared for and made the experience so much more pleasant. The only minor drawback we felt was the size of the second bedroom. It has enough space to sleep comfortably in it, but there was no space left whatsoever for the kids to sit on the floor and play or even store their suitcase. So they had to take over the living room with their toys etc. But hey, we were on a vacation. Who cares about a few toys lying around. Did I mention the view? Stunning. The beach, literally just across the street. And the pool was very nice as well. We will be coming back. Thanks.

Breathtaking Views..Paradise at it's best!!

The villa was one of the best rentals we have stayed in! Clean, decorater appointed and views of the Gulf that soothe your soul and make you never want to leave! We tried many of the owners suggestions for dinner and places to go. They have a binder with local restaurants, menus and that made our vacation so much easier. These owners have great taste! We enjoyed our coffee on the back deck watching the sunrise over the Lake and our wine on the front deck watching the sunset over the Gulf. Surrounded by water ,comfortable beds, designer linens that were clean , towels that were thick and new, updated furniture and new stackable full size HE Washer/Dryer made us feel so at home. The kitchen was appointed with all the equipment and cookware to make gourmet meals. We enjoyed a few meals at the villa and my husband , a chef trained at the CIA in Hyde Park NY complimented the owners for having so many little extras available to guests . The magnificent view of the Gulf from the dining table made our meals we ate in romantic and even more enjoyable. The area Outlet malls was outstanding and the little shops were wonderful. We took a day to go down to Seaside and enjoyed a market on the green. We purchased an apple pie that was better than Grandma's. Only steps away from the villa is the white sandy beach where we got fantastic tans and enjoyed the blue green waters everyday of our visit! I must say, I work for a large condominium rental development in St. Augustine and I am implementing alot of the Kirbys ideas and details to their customer service at our property. We are already planning a longer stay on our next visit....Charm, Cleanliness, Southern Hospitality and the value of the rental was above what we ever expected. The only thing we were not happy with was not being able to stay longer......next time we are staying more than a week!! Thanks Kirby family for allowing us to stay at you piece of paradise!

My family with 3 small children recently stayed at the downstair property for a week. The property was very clean and well maintained. We stay at either Destin or Orange Beach at least once a year, and some times the pictures portray a well maintained property, but upon arrival you think the pictures must have been snapped years ago- not the case here. What you see is what you get - thank goodness! The villa location and Destiny ammenities were excellent. There are 2 pools near the villa and they were both great (clean, not overcrowded, and one is just a walk throuh the parking lot) and the pool in Destiny is also very nice. The beach is truly across the HWY and a closer walk than most condos in Destin. If you have ever stayed in Sandestin and found the beaches to be utterly crowded, you will love this beach - plenty of room! Each day we toted all of our gear and 3 small kiddos through the crosswalk on HWY 98 and it was not a hassle at all because you literally cross the HWY to the beach parking lot and you are in the sand. The downstairs villa has a fantastic HE washer/dryer which we used daily with 3 kids. The unit was also extremely private and we did not have to worry about being woken by other guest in the wee hours. The villa is very compact and the bathroom is tiny downstairs. This is the reason we gave it 4 and not 5 stars. Overall I would recomend this property based on the location to the beach, pools, Destin Commons, and the Destiny ammenities. I would recomend booking the upstairs and downstairs for more room.

Beautiful Destin!!

Our stay was very pleasant! We enjoyed the proximity to the beach, and we also enjoyed the quiet setting in spite of being right on the scenic highway! In the early mornings, we would sometimes leave the front door open for a few minutes simply to hear the waves on the shore! Access to Destiny East Club House was a plus! Although we did not take advantage of all it offers, we did make use of the private movie room and tennis courts. We've passed on the link to my brother and sister-in-law who are also thinking about vacationing in Destin! Greetings from north Dallas!!

Working with the owner was great, prompt responses quick registration, she provided local hot spots which helped us trying to figure out what to do, aside from beach of course. Regarding the beach, this villa had THE BEST VIEW of the ocean. I would absolutely rent this villa again! Perfect location!

My sister and I, our husbands and our three small children stayed in these apartments for a week in April 2010. Having the two adjoining apartments was a great way to be together whilst allowing each family a bit of independence. The location is fantastic - so close to the beach. It's in a quiet location but with very easy access to the busier parts of Destin. The main pool, playground and fitness center (a short walk or drive from the apartments) were excellent. The listing gives a realistic impression of the property, and the owner was very helpful and communicative.

Laura & Greg, We had the best time in your villa. We are so sad to leave tomorrow. Your villa is perfect. Between the ocean and the lake, each one of us always had something wonderful to do. The guys fished everyday and caught over 100 fish. They released them all except the ones a friendly heron snatched. :) This was our first time in Destin, but after crusin the whole area, we think we stayed in the best spot. We spent more time on the front balcony than anywhere else. The view is ever changing and always interesting. Thank you for a restful week. Phil and Pam Melkowski and Hans & Lou Recker (my parents)

We just got back from staying in your villa, 3A, and can't wait to return. We've rented houses in Destin before but enjoyed your villa the most...the beach is beautiful (and so close!), the pool is great and the people were so friendly. The villa is so clean and has everything you need on vacation. We had plenty of room, sleeping our 3 kids in the bunk room worked out great. We will definitely rent again next year if not before!!!

My 3 friends and I had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend at the villa. It is the perfect location for spending all day at the beach. It was also great to be so close to shopping areas and wonderful restaurants.

I just had to write to tell you what a wonderful time we had in Destin - the kids had the best week of their lives' last week. Your villa is truly a special place, it is perfect! We came away last week with some new friends (from upstairs) that we will know the rest of our lives; they are wonderful people with a great family. We have started saving for next year already! Just wanted to send you a few lines to let you know how much we enjoyed our week in your villa, "What a view". We started our day on the balcony drinking coffee and ended it there with a glass of wine, it was perfect. My husband and I even saw dolphins one morning. To make our week even more memorable my daughter got engaged the Friday night before we left, he proposed to her on the beach, I can't think of a better place. I signed your book while we were there but I wanted to take a few minutes to let you know what a great time it was, we will definately be back hopefully next year!
