My family of 4 had a fantastic time for a one week stay. We may try to come back to New England (from Texas) again. We would love to stay here again.

Great family getaway
Great family getaway
We really enjoyed our time at the houseboat. The location was convenient and the marina was a peaceful and relaxing place to spend a few days. The owner was extremely helpful and available if we needed anything during our stay. It was the perfect place for our family to get away and spend some time together.

This was our first time staying on a houseboat. Kate was wonderful to work with and very helpful explaining everything we needed to know about the place. The inside of the houseboat was beautiful and was equipped with everything needed. The neighbors were very friendly and nice, we enjoyed their company when we sat out on the front porch. The marina was very well kept. We relaxed and took many day trips around the area. The Fairhaven 4th of July celebration and city walking tour was great! We enjoyed feeding the family of swans and ducks that visited us daily. Our only complaint is the few days the temperature reached above 90 air conditioning would have made the place much more comfortable to sleep. We hope to someday return and would recommend this houseboat to family and friends! A great vacation!!

A WONDERFUL PLACE TO VACATION
A WONDERFUL PLACE TO VACATION
My husband and I along with our dog just spent four wonderful days vacationing on this houseboat. It is on the top of the list of my favorite places to spend some quiet time in a very unique location. The houseboat is amazing and the marina is very clean with friendly people who either live there year round or just come on the weekends. When we wanted a quiet place we had it... when we wanted to be tourists we found interesting places to go and we were able to take the dog with us. Katie is a wonderful person who was available if we had any questions. She met us at the houseboat when we arrived with the key and all the information we needed. You wake up to a beautiful view and families of ducks, geese and even a pair of swans floating by the back door. Never staying on a boathouse we arrived not knowing what to expect... it was better than you can imagine even after seeing the pictures. Coming from Southeast Pennsylvania it was like entering a different world. We plan to go back again... Thank you Katie for a wonderful place to spend a few days away from everyday life....

This is a beautiful spot and very cute houseboat. I have been here for over 13 weeks with my two small dogs and we have loved every minute. Close to the hwys and shopping and have found the local resturants to be great! Would come back in a heartbeat. May consider winter for a few days if I make it back here from FL for a few days!!!

A Houseboat Adventure
A Houseboat Adventure
This is a cute little houseboat that is obviously loved by the owner. It is very well maintained, clean and supplied with sheets/towels, kitchen supplies, etc. The owner met us at the boat with keys and all of the necessary information needed to make our stay a pleasant one. Any emails prior to arriving were answered promptly and completely. It was clear that she could be contacted at any time if we had questions or concerns. The houseboat is very comfortable and cozy, but our family of three did have trouble adjusting to the bathroom. The toilet is an incinerator that takes well over an hour to burn. The shower pressure is weak and only the provided environmentally friendly products can be used. There are bathroom facilities in the marina which is close by that can be used. The location makes it easy to travel to the Cape, Martha's Vineyard and Boston. One excellent restaurant in New Bedford that you must try is Fernando's Grill. The food is outstanding!

My three children and I vacationed there in the beginning of November and it was amazing! What an experience to stay on a house boat or as we like to refer to it as "our floating castle" The owner was so kind and made us feel right at home. We had nightly visitors of a family of swans to keep us company and I awoke to our "new england alarm clock" which was sea gulls dropping shells on the roof for their breakfast! It was a wonderful time to unwind with my children and explore Fairhaven, Plymouth, and Salem! We look forward to going back and already miss the gentle rocking of the boat! Would recommend it to anyone as a charming and delightful place to stay!

Year Purchased: 1998
About the owner: My husband and I live in New Bedford, right next to Fairhaven. We have two amazing daughters and one crazy but wonderful dog.
Why the Owner Chose Fairhaven:
The houseboat is the first house I ever bought, and I lived on it alone year-round for 4 1/2 years.
The Unique Benefits at this House Boat:
The houseboat is really a floating house, not a boat. Hopefully you can tell by the pictures how beautiful it is, inside and out. It has so much charm. It is quite private if you want it to be, yet, there is a whole marina outside the front door, and so many truly wonderful attractions just beyond that. Another great aspect of the houseboat, especially in the summer, is that there is always a breeze, and no mosquitos!
