We stayed for two wonderful weeks in this unit. The condo is top floor and has a spectacular view of the ocean and mountains. It is a concrete frame strucure which makes it very quiet and peaceful Easy to relax here. It is a leisurely five minute walk to Kam II beach (one of the best on Maui!). The photos on the website accurately describe the condo, location and views. The condo, buildings and grounds are well maintained and kept extremely clean. The kitchen is well stocked with plates, cutlery, pots and pans, etc. There were lots of beach accessories (chairs, boogie board, etc.) that we made wonderful use of. The pool and barbeque areas are kept clean and a great place to chat with fellow travellers. The owner was very prompt in responding to all our questions before we rented from him. He even took the time to call while we were there to ensure everything was okay and to see if we needed anything more. We enjoyed watching the sunsets from across the road and from Moose's. (A local pub/restaruant) We spent a lot of time on the beach, took a stand-up paddle board lesson nearby. Ate at Moose's, Freds and Deli 808 (all just a couple minutes away). There is a shopping mall a block away that has a great ice cream shop, a place to rent Harley Davidson motorcycles and scooters as well as a number of souvenier/clothing shops. If you forget your bathing suit, there also a shop for that with a wide selection of suits. Whale watching tours are twenty minutes away at Ma'alaea harbour, go early in the morning for the calmest waters. After your tour, don't miss Beach Bums pub & grill for fish & chips. We would definitely recommend this property to friends, in fact, we already have!!! Can't wait to go back, see you in 2014!

The listing description is accurate. The location is in our mind one of the best in Maui. Close to amenities: good choice of restaurants, bus service, excellent walks, most amazing beaches. Beautiful views form the lani. The owner could not of been better in our opinion. I would recommend this unit with out hesitation.

Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This Condo has a great location. It is everything the description says and more. Close to restaurants, right across the street from the Beach, nice pools, and has a fabulous view of the ocean. A few days into our vacation, we found that the clothes washer was leaking. We called the management office. They responded quickly, we had a service man at our door early the following morning. Couldn't have asked for better service, and the repairman was extremely quick, efficient and took care of the problem immediately. No time wasted - got to enjoy the entire day at the Beach. This is our second visit to this Condo. Bill, the owner, always calls during our stay to see if we need anything, and to ask if everyithing is working as it should. I would highly recommend staying at this Condo! C & M Las Vegas

Once again a wonderful 15 nights in Maui. This is our second stay at Bill's condo, and it was just as great as last year. Bill is very responsive to any questions you have. The condo is always clean upon arrival. It has a great location and provides everything we need. You have a view of the ocean as well as the mountain. A short walk to several restaurants, ice cream shop, and cinnamon buns shop. Found a great new place, Fabiani's Bakery and Pizza. We had great pizza, and quite a busy place. This is our 6th year in a row in Kihei, everything is as great as ever, and Bill's condo fits right in as our place to stay.Thanks again, Bill. Jim and Andrea Gall

Watching the Wales from the Lanai of this condo is a common occurance! The location is ideal, one of the nicest beaches in the area is a 2 minute walk away. The snorkeling at this beach is fantastic, turtles, a variety of fish and coral are abundant, not to mention the sunsets are outstanding! A variety of restaurants and array of great shops are all within a short walk. The unit is very quiet and the sleeping arrangements are very comfortable. The kitchen is well appointed, the living area has been tastefully furnished and comes equiped with everything you need for your stay including comfortable seating, TV, docking station for music, access to internet, to name a few. The condo is equiped with all the extra ammenities you need for your stay such as comfortable beach chairs, towels, coolers etc. The property is clean and the gardens, pool and bbq area are very well mainted. The other guests staying at the property are very friendly . The owner provides excellent service. I have recommended this property to friends and family. This is a lovely condo and the value for this location can't be beat. We will definately be returning!

This condo is in an excellent location with beach access across the street and several restaurants close by. The complex is very well maintained and has 2 swimming pools with barbecues for resident use. The unit was clean and very well maintained and the service provided by the owner and his management firm was first rate. Any problems we had were immediately attended to and corrected to our satisfasction. We have stayed in this unit a number of times and have recommended it to friends and relatives considering a Hawaiian vacation. We enjoy golfing and there are several good courses in the area and we do like the beach and watching the sunset in the evening. Our favourite restaurants would include Haliimailie General Store, Ruby Tuesday ande Freds.

Great location, good value for the money

The top floor location afforded us a fantastic view of the ocean and the frequent whale sightings. All the appliances worked well and we arrived to a clean, efficient unit. Although we never made use of the boogie boards, snorkeling gear and other toys, as we brought our own, they were available in the room. Being away from the main road helped mute vehicle noise but not the soothing ocean sounds. We are foodies, our stay was enhanced by the gas stove and the ability to make delicious meals using produce from the local farmer's markets. We enjoyed a two minute walk to the beach with excellent snorkeling at Kamaole 2 beach. It has been a real pleasure working with Bill, the owner, who has responded promptly to any questions or emails and we would, and already have, recommended this unit to others. We had a geat stay for 16 nights. The condo was everything that the owner said it would be. The location was excellent, right across the street from the Beach, the view even better than described. The furnishings were comfortable, the applicances worked well (Blender, Toaster, ect.) The internet was fast and efficient. The Tradewinds kept the condo at a comfortable temperature all day and night. We never had to use the air conditioner at all. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained, the pools and barbeque areas were spotless. Assigned parking was convenient. The Condo was a short walk to restaurants and deli. The owner was easy to work with and checked-in with us upon our arrival. He wanted to ensure that we had a great stay. We had an outstanding time and the condo was perfect for us. We have stayed at the Kihei Akahi for four years now. We love the location most of all. The condo had everything we expected and was great for our stay. Bill is very attentive to his clients, and very responsive to our needs. We will be back next year. We stayed for 15 nights and did not want to go home. Lots of great places to eat and things to do within walking distance. A great beach across the street. Beach chairs, umbrellas, a boogie board, and we contributed some "noodles". I can float on my "noodles" for hours. The bed was great, the birds will wake you up in the morning. We had great meals at Cafe O'lei, The Big Wave Cafe, Moose McGillicudy's, Joe's Bar & Grill, and Antonio's. We also like Peggy Sue's, Stella Blues, Cuartro's, and Coconut's Fish. Great Condo for the Price and Location

This condo was great. It was directly across the street from a beautiful beach. We would drive to other beaches as well because we like variety and we did a lot of snorkeling in different places, but we always came back every night to make some food and blend up a rum drink and go watch the sunset on the beach across the street. The lanai had a good view of the ocean. It was a little small and you also had a view of the condos across the way, but with a 2 minute walk you were on the beach so this didn't really have a negative effect. The condo had great amenities and the folks at the management office were friendly and helpful. Bill, the condo owner, was also very attentative and made sure all was well for us, which it was.

Comfy stay and great location in Kihei

My boyfriend and I stayed here for six nights. The unit was clean and had all the amenities we needed to cook at home and keep our clothes clean. The balcony was great for watching the sunset on the water. We stayed in the living room on the futon couch (super comfy, nice and firm) so we could leave the slider open and hear the waves and feel the breeze - just lovely to wake up to the birds chirping and the waves lapping the beach nearby. The back room stayed nice and cool with the ceiling fan and the windows open, though. The beach across the street was gorgeous, and we were able to change things up by walking down a ways to Charley Young for some great snorkeling. Very easy to get to Big Beach, Makena, etc for some quick jaunts to various snorkeling further south. Also, we were very close to lots of food, although we ate in most of the trip. Foodland, 1-2mi north is great! Places to eat: Cafe O'Lei, Maui Tacos and Fred's were pretty dang tasty and so close. For Shave Ice, it's a trek, but go to Ululani's in Lahaina... it's worth the drive. Snorkeling: Kamaole beaches and Charley Young were really great... virtually across the street, or at the most a half mile walk. Ask a snorkel shop for a map of good places to go if you want to venture further. Other activities: Old Lahaina Luau was AMAZING, traditional, beautiful, great food, amazing service, delicious drinks. No discounts, but only because they are that good. Recommend sitting at the tables on the ground. Pride of Maui Molokini Snorkeling Tour - good food, great service, went on a bad day to see fish, but we were ok with it because of the rest of the experience. Road to Hana - if you go, GO EARLY and pack a lunch - food in Hana is sparse. And, if you can, stay the night there - it's a loooong day. When we come back to Maui, we'll be checking this unit first. The owner was very responsive to inquiries and kept close contact before during and after our stay to make sure everything was satisfactory. Great price, great location, great service - you can't ask for any more than that!

This Condo was great. It surpassed my expectations having just seen photo's and description on the internet. The view from the Lanai of the mountains and the ocean was beautiful. The location was fantastic, a 2 minute walk to a beautiful beach with great snorkeling and sunsets and close to great restaurants and shops. There are 2 pools and each has a BBQ area with nice clean BBQ's. The condo was clean, well-maintained and had all the amenties that we required for out stay. The owner provided great customer service and e-mailed us upon our arrival to make sure everything was satisfactory. I would highly recommend this condo. Beautiful View, but ...

Great location, beautiful view. Easy walking to nearby restaurants and beach. The condo was a bit "tired" and "worn". Clean overall, but carpet in bedroom needed a good steam cleaning or better yet replacement. Curtains that are near ceiling for outside window in the bedroom were very dirty. These are the two main detractions. Would stay here again as long as these two issues were resolved. Property management for condo were excellent and responsive.

Great location and accomodation on a budget.

This is a great condo if you are on a budget. The beach is just a short walk away as are resturants and shops. During our visit we found it best to arrive on the beach early as the trade winds picked up around midday resulting in sand being blown around a bit. The Condo has well maintained grounds with two pools, although we never used them as the ocean was so close. The condo itself was comfortable, the main room was bright with views from the Lanai, left the mountain and right the ocean. The Kitchen, bathroom and bedroom were a little tired but for the price we had no complaints. It was all clean and had everything we needed. You do need to ensure the windows are open to get the cross breeze, this worked fine for us. If you want to see Maui and stay on a budget you can't go wrong with this condo and its location. Some Tips: Grocery shopping - Go to Safeway, off the main highway, it's cheaper than any of the local stores and has a great variety. Beach - lots to choose from but would go early or later in the day to avoid the winds. Aqarium - Worth a visit. Hana Highway - amazing well worth the drive Lastly Thanks Bill for letting us use your Condo, we had a great vacation...

This was our first trip to Maui and we were very happy with this condo. The location was great -- the beach is beautiful and there are lots of restaurants and amenities in the vicinity, The condo was clean and very well equipped and was perfect for our needs. So glad we found this accommodation and will definitely return and highly recommend it.

close to everything, nothing special

This condo complex is conveniently located across the street from the beach, calm water in the morning, windy and big waves in the afternoon. You're in great company with many tourists and the Hawaii sunshine! If you're not familiar with Maui, you may want to know this unit, like many in Kihei, is located on a strip mall of condos and stores, so it's great for walking down the hill and across the street to the beach as a home base. You might make an extra trip if you're hauling beach chairs, umbrellas, towels, boogie boards, etc... This was my first trip to Maui, so I'm not sure how this condo compares with the many other accommodations there. The unit itself is sweet and small- kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, living room. The kitchen is well stocked with dishware and glasses. The bed was uncomfortable and the bedroom had no air conditioner and was very hot. We moved into the living room and slept on the futon, which was better than the bed and not ideal. The air conditioner is in the living room, located at floor level and is blocked by the entertainment center. There are ceiling fans in the bedroom and living room. The property was mostly clean when we arrived- some sand on the futon couch, and when we opened it for sleeping, found a dirty floor that had been covered up by the couch. The view from the lanai was of another condominium complex and accompanying parking lot. It is not easy to comfortably access the sea view in the advertisement. I had paid for 12 nights, and unfortunately, due to a terrible emergency, had to leave Maui after only 4 nights. I had hoped for a partial refund and the owner made me an unspecified offer for a deal if/when I return. Everything about this condo was adequate. There was nothing special about it. There's a nice health food store nearby. Two books we recommend: Snorkel Bob's Reality Guide to Hawaii, and Maui Revealed. We brought our own boogie boards and went to the beach and it was FUN! Wished we could have stayed and found better boogie board beaches!!

Owner response: This condo is in a fantastic location with immediate beach access. Shopping a restaurants are right next door. The guest admits to being a first timer to Maui, and of course did not know what to expect. She stayed in a wonderful, fully equipped condo, with air conditioning, 3 fans in the bedroom, and also fans in living room. The condo is extremely well maintained by professionals, and the grounds withing the complex are gorgeous. There are 2 swimming pools, a tennis court and outstanding grilling facilities. Her unfortunate departure was not expected, and I assured her that she would be well looked after if she were to want to return at any time. I tried to please her, and hope she will return. Her comment about being "nothing special" unfortunately is not a fair one, as everything is special. The condo has beautiful bamboo hardwood flooring, updated appliances and a wonder feeling to it. Obviously she needs to stay at other condos, and pay a lot more money to appreciate what she was offered. You cannot find a top floor unit with this type of convenience at this price. Alhoa Bill We really enjoyed the condo and its convenient location to the beach, shopping and resturants. The snorkeling between Kam II and Kam III was very good. A local indicated there were also some sea turtles in the area but I had already swam with one for 20 minutes so I did not follow her out to the site.. You have a good view of the beach and can see the lava outcropping between the two beaches. The temperature was around 80 degrees and sunny during our visit in May and sleeping was very comfortable. We turned the overhead fan on and opened the window. This provided good air circulation from the front to the back of the unit. On some nights we were actually cold and used a blanket. We hope to come back sometime as the Aquarium in La Parouse Bay was closed for an environmental study Aloha and Mahalo Bill Regards Brian and Heather from Georgia
