This is the most incredible spot. I fell in love with the Shack the moment I walked through the door. If you're looking for a spectacular view, privacy and simplicity this is the spot. And oh so romantic. Quintessential New England charm.

Shack Honeymoon 2011
Shack Honeymoon 2011
We stayed at the Lis Sur Mer Shack for one week as part of our 3 week honeymoon in the USA. The Shack was as expected; rustic, private, peaceful & very New England - perfect for a wind down after our wedding. It did not disappoint on the location front but internally there were some issues. The cleanliness of the property was not adequate when we arrived. There were animal hairs on the sofa and the adjacent floor rug was also thick with hair. We noticed dust/fluff/hair etc on a lot of the surfaces and fittings as well as cobwebs amongst the hanging pots & pans in the kitchen area. It certainly didn't feel as though it had had a proper clean in a while and put us off doing any serious cooking. The bathroom was very compact and smelt of damp (shower curtain?). We also struggled with storing our luggage, inevitably using the sofa as a suitcase stand for the entire week, although this wasn't too problematic. We did complain about the cleanliness straight away and were grateful to the keeper/owner/cleaner for addressing the issues we raised the next day without a fuss. This is a lovely property but requires some long overdue care and attention to return it to the cute, comfy hideaway it is advertised as.
