I rented the three bedroom in the back building last year. When we arrived we found that the rental was filthy dirty. There was food on the living room floor and on the furniture. When I lifted the twin mattresses to make the bed I found rotten food, candy and other items I could not identify. We were told by Paul that the place was cleaned and this crew was the best cleaning crew he has had in years. I had to call him to come and replace the vacumn bag as it was so full it wouldn't work properly. He didn't seem to care much that the kitchen floor was black and after we cleaned it you could actually see that it was white. I was disgusted. I can't believe that anyone would expect guests to live in that filth. We had to clean the whole place ourselves. I would not recommend anyone to stay there. The year before we stayed on the 3rd floor in the front and didn't even have a broom or vacumn. When I told Paul about it he said "Oh, there is supposed to be one in there". Poor management and sloppy housekeeping. Paul should be embarassed. Clean up your act or you may lose more customers than me!

Owner response:On the second day of this customer's stay, he called to tell me that he was not satisfied with the cleanliness of the apartment and that the vacuum cleaner needed a new bag. I drove up to the property promptly that afternoon to rectify the two issues. My priority is to make sure all of my guests are satisfied with the accommodations during their vacation and I take it very seriously. When I arrived, I changed the bag and offered to send my cleaners, who normally get rave reviews, back to his apartment for a second cleaning free of charge. He declined. Although I don’t agree with this customers assessment of the apartment, I will work with every guest to make sure his/her stay is the best I can possibly make it. Summer vacations are very special to me and my family, so I do my best to make sure that they are the same for all of the families who stay as guests at the Americana year after year.

Looking forward to our third year here. Found by accident, and found it to be the greatest. I have seen all the apartments, and they are all admirable. Stayed our first year on the back basement apartment, which was very accomodating. Last year we were on the Third floor, and were more than comfortable. So looking forward to August. Will stay two weeks on the third floor. Everything is great there, and Paul couldn't be a more accomodating man. Plan to be there each year if possible, and working toward a full month of summer there. All you need is in the apartments, and if it isn't, you will be sure to get it. Hop skip and a jump to the beach, and the same for the great town of Hampton Beach.

Recommended for:Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This is our 2nd year renting from Paul at the Americana. This is definitely the best place on the beach! We like the 2nd floor one bedroom w/ balcony. It's clean, close to everything with a beautiful view of the beach. Paul is a great landlord, always been available and accomodating. We plan to come back every summer. We highly recommend the Americana. AWESOME!

Recommended for:Age 55+, families with young children, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

Americana 1st floor 3 bedroom apt.

Just wanted to let everyone know that we had a great time at hampton beach. We rented the 1st floor 3 bedroom apt. There were 2 adults and 2 teenagers with plenty of room to spare. The apt was very clean and well maintained. It was great to have a washer and dryer in the unit. That was a plus ! there was no problem with parking and for that matter no problems with the apt. the whole week we stayed. we enjoyed the big front porch(witch was all ours). Paul made sure that everthing was A O.K. before we took over the unit. If there were a problem i am confident that Paul would of taken care of it right away. We stayed the last week of july. The weather was great, the apt was great and we are looking forward to renting the same apt at the same time for next year!!!

Our family just got back from staying at the Americana in the 2 bedroom 1st floor apartment. This was our first stay at the Americana and we really enjoyed it. Paul was very personable and professional each and every time we talked with him. This is a great clean place to stay with wonderful views of the ocean. We're already planning our vacation for next year. Thanks Paul!!

This place is the worst place I ever rented. The description was not accurate, the appartment was so dirty, I had to clean it myself. We called the owner to let him know about some problems we had (the sofa was so wet that we couldn't sit or sleep on it, we had 2 chairs for 3 persons, etc), he never showed up and never did anything. Windows were broken. It was a nightmare. We will go back to Hampton Beach because it's a great place but never again at The Americana

Owner response:I certainly welcome any and all feedback as it helps me provide a better product. I was sorry to receive this negative review for 2 reasons: 1.) I never like to have an unhappy customer and 2.) I've prided myself on the overwhelmingly positive responses I've received to this point. I did, in fact, address this tenants concerns during their stay. I had my cleaner go there the same day to offer to re-clean the apartment. Her offer was not accepted. I had her go back the next day to check on them to find out if there was anything at all they needed. She was told that everything was fine. The descriptions listed on my site are, in fact, accurate. I can only attribute any mis-communications to the fact that this tenant did not speak English as a 1st language. There were no broken windows, and 2 chairs come standard in the apartment, although more can be requested. And, with respect to the wet sofa, a window had been left open during a rain storm the day of their arrival. I provided for a sofa cover the same night it came to my attention. I do not profess to be perfect but I always try to remedy a bad situation. I guess it's true that you can't please everybody.

Wow! For the price, compared to other rentals I looked at for the Holiday Weekend...can't even beat it. Will definately be back again next year!

I had the BEST time at the Seafood Festival in Hampton Beach, NH and it was mainly due to the wonderful accommodations I had at the Americana. The 1 bedroom unit I had was very spacious and I loved the view, that the balcony overlooking the beach provided. I can't wait for the next opportunity to go up to the Americana and would recommend it to anyone looking for an experience to remember !

Last year my family and I stayed at Mr, Jamiesons Americana Hotel, and we rented the 3 bdrm. We had plenty of room and everything was there for us. We loaded the cupboards up with food and enjoyed our vacation. We will be there again this year and hopefully every year after. It was a great find.

just got back from hampton.Stayed at the americana there were 5 of us that stayed in the 3 bedroom. I was the one that was in charge of getting a place. i rented it over the internet hoping it was nice and to my surprise it was. Everyone was impressed with the place they all want to go back next year. We loved the out door shower and everyone that was staying in the building was nice. Friends of ours were staying down the street liked our place better.we wiil be back. Thanks Paul

Hello,Frank & I just returned home from renting a 1 bedroom loft at the "AMERICANA" from "PAUL".It was our 1st time renting from a "home spirited" landord and the upkeep that he performs for a magnificant property and the "VIEW" just being directly across the street was "1 incrediable!Whew. was tough leaving ,but we are definitly returning and returning because we were looking to establish a place from year to year that we can honestly say,it's our Home Away From Home......Paul,your one of the finest...keep up the tremondous job on your property.....and enjoy because that's what your giving to your rentors. It is a yearly tradition for my family to visit Hampton beach and stay at the Americana. I can't imagine staying anywhere else when I visit the beach. The place is perfect! Paul is wonderful to deal with!

We stayed in the basement 2 bedroom apt. last August. It was clean and roomy enough for 3 adults and three children. It was so much more comfortable and homelike than a small motel room. With the beach right across the street there was no searching for a parking place. My children also enjoyed the playground nearby. I was a little concerned about no air conditioning, but there were plenty of fans and didn't even really need them with the ocean breeze. Restaurants and stores were right down the street, even a miniture golf and ice cream shop next door. When we go back to Hampton Beach we will stay at the Americana if there is room available. I stayed at the Americana Apts on 2 seperate occasions this past summer. I had the top floor apt on the right for both of these occasions. The place was remarkable. Very clean & welcoming. I didn't have any problems with parking either. The view was incredible. The sunrise from a 3rd floor balcony overlooking the ocean, is incredible. Paul was wonderful to deal with. I am already trying to book again for next year. I would highly recommend staying at the Americana Apartments!

We stayed in the basement apartment of the Americana in August 2004, the week after an unusually strong rainstorm had hit the area. We soon realized that the carpeted floor was damp wet, and a musty, moldy smell became increasingly worse each day. We also ran into a small parking problem late in the evening. When the proprietor, Paul Jamieson, was notified, he immediately arranged for a temporary parking spot for us that evening. He arrived at our apartment first thing the next morning, and once he assessed the apartment situation, he offered to reimburse us for the whole week, found us another place to stay through another local rental agency, took care of the payment transactions, and courteously called later in the day to make sure that we were happy and comfortable. We noticed that the day after we moved out of the water damaged apartment, he already had workers in there putting in a new floor. He was at all times polite, professional and concerned for our well-being. We can't thank him enough for the integrity and concern he showed in getting us quickly out of an unpleasant situation he could not foresee, taking full reponsibility and handling everything in the most upstanding way possible. That saved our vacation. Now we can say we had the greatest time in the Hampton Beach area. We have many happy memories and interesting stories to tell. I'm sure we'll come back again someday.

My family stayed in both 1 bedrooms apartments on the second floor it was GREAT!!! My dad is 82 and was able to sit on the deck and wave to us at the beach. It was quite, clean and very comfortable. I am already booking for next summer..Thanks Americana :)

We have been staying at the Americana for years and have always found the accommodations superior. Bob,Susan & Paul are always ready to make sure you are happy. The Americana, in my opinion, is one of the better places to stay. With morning sunrise to beautiful sunsets in your site & soul daily,and the calming voice of the sea, you go home in a tranquil state. Thank you Jamiesons for making that happen.

So far,we have not staied at the Americana, but I have dealt with Mr Paul Jameison it's owner.Let me tell you that he is a gentlemen in the exact definition of the word. Unfortunatly ,we had problems with our part of the booking,and we had to change our dates.Later on we had to cancell.Mr Jameison was always polite and tried his best to accomedate us .And because of this, when we go down to Hampton beach,we will be staing at the Americana.When the boss is like that,the place is well runned!

We stayed in the first floor 3 bedroom apartment and were very pleased. It's spacious, clean, and has all the conveniences of home. The location is great - you can walk to everything and to be able to look out the front door at the ocean is awesome. The beach is right there! My children wanted to stay permanently! We have rented other places at Hampton Beach but the Americana was the best experience by far.

I stayed at the Americana over Memorial Day weekend. Although it was cold and not beach weather, the sunrise and sunset view from the deck were gorgeous. Great accommodations, clean, quiet, and right across the street from the beach and along boardwalk. Definitely recommend staying there!!!!!
