Casuarina Bay is an exceptionally beautiful, secluded hideaway on the island of Eleuthera, in the Bahamas. Just two lovely houses share this very private bay on the Atlantic, skirted by miles of pink sand beaches.

Easily accessible, Casuarina Bay is just one hour by air from Miami, and only seven miles from Governors Harbour airport. It is located one and a half miles northeast of the quaint village of Governors Harbour, one of the oldest settlements in the Bahamas.

The house affords a spectacular view of the Atlantic Ocean, amidst a picturesque grove of coconut palms, colorful hibiscus, fragrant frangipani flowers, sea grape and Casuarina trees.

Ocean-lovers will find some of the best snorkeling, scuba diving, and swimming in the world. Underwater visibility is up to 100 feet, with water temperatures ranging between 70 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit. The adventurous traveler can explore nearby islands and virgin coral reefs, swim with dolphins or exotic tropical fish, or charter boats for world-class bone or deep-sea fishing. Other sports available on the island include golf, tennis, and surfing.

This beachfront rustic vacation cottage is built of cedar in an open hexagonal design, with a high ceiling and a sleeping loft, ideal for children. Eight arching windows provide magnificent views, and open onto a wrap-around deck with ocean views. There is a new thatched cabana on the beach with a freshwater outdoor shower.

Perfect for a honeymooning couple or a small family, the Round House comes charmingly furnished, and has been described as "the hidden treasure of Eleuthera."

  • My husband and I had a lovely time at the Round House. It was by far the most relaxing vacation we have ever experienced. The island life is much slower than anwhere else we have been and it was much appreciated and needed. The people of the island were welcoming and nice and we loved the traditional bahamian food at the Sunset Inn and the Fish Fry. The island itself is a bit pricey, but when you see the views you can understand why to some degree. The beach at casaurina bay was by far the nicest we had experienced. The water was like crystal, the reefs spectacular, and the fishing amazing. We ate fresh grouper and snapper several nights throughout the week we stayed from teh fish my husband caught right off the the beach. The kayaks ans snorkeling were a highlight. Definitely a little piece of heaven if there is such a thing!

  • We wanted to thank you so much for the best time of both our lives. Your place is so beautiful. It was everything we could of hoped for and more. We had such a good time and everyone we met was so friendly and nice. We are looking forward to visiting Eleuthera an annual trip. Your home was beautiful and just perfect for the two of us, it was so nice having no phone calls, tv, and radio for a week. We actually didn't know what time it was for the first couple days and hard to remember what day it was. lol Again we would like to thank you for everything and we look forward to returning back next year. We did enjoy Tippy's and The Beach House, both great restaurants.

  • We loved Casuarina Bay and our week at the Round House. We took off our watches when we arrived and didn't put them back on until we got to the airport for the return home! We ate out once a day and always enjoyed our meals...Dolcevite's was our favorite but we could walk to the Beach House and enjoy a fantastic Mango Margarita and a tapa! The Club Med Beach is pink sand and beautiful! All the water is very clear and perfect for snorkeling!!! Except for the roads, we loved our Eleuthera vacation. It's not for everyone though...if you like something to do...shopping, nightlife, golfing this is NOT the place for you! If you want someplace to relax,read, contemplate, and just "BE" this is the island and the Round House is the place! Excellent location!

  • This was our first Round House getaway. And we loved it! We could not have imagined a more perfect destination. We could go on and on describing all the terrific places and experiences we encountered. The Round House offers you all the amenities to prepare a simple or gourmet meal. Within an hour walk on the beach we enjoyed Tippy’s food or a 30 minute drive brought us to the Dolce Vita restaurant. We fell in love to the “Potcakes” that always were around when we walked on the beach or to Governors Harbor. This is the place were you can relax. We plan coming back continuing encountering this wonderful place and island.

  • Our second Round House getaway was as wonderful as our first. This place is the perfect destination to decompress for these two Chicago bartenders. From the beautiful ocean experience to the supreme coziness of the Round House,it's hard to imagine a more perfect destination. The snorkeling is terrific right on our beach, and the cool cabana is the perfect spot to sip drinks or enjoy lunch. The outdoor shower is handy too.The three mile walk down the beach to Tippy's for lunch or dinner is always fun , especially when the moon is full.Usually we took advantage of the kitchen and outdoor grill and prepared our own meals.This is THE place to get away from it all. We will keep coming back.

  • We stayed in Round House last week (may 10-17th 2008). It was beautiful. The view from the front porch is spectacular. We loved the easy access to the beach and the beach was private! loved the kayaks. it is very remote but quiet. if you like people, night life, or noise this is not the place for you. you should stick with resorts !

    We have really enjoyed the Round House and we will continue to come back again and again. We got married here and what a wonderful experience that was. We had the entire beach to ourselves- didn't see another person the entire week. We travelled to other beaches but this one is the best by far. The Round House will always be our special place to come back to. Thank you for a perfect week.
