We, a swiss family of 5 with teenage kids, enjoyed the stay very much. Contact with the owner was very good, friendly and helpful. We always got fast response to our calls and emails. Also we found a huge amount of useful information about surrounding and possible trips. The house is close to the street (therefore a bit of street noise), clean and very well equipped. We found not only all kind of cooking equipment and some basic incredience but also a good washing machine. We got the feeling that Cindy took care of us and spend great effort to make our staying as good as possible. For five people it is a bit tight, but OK for the 5 days we spend. The large bed upstairs is comfortable and we all slept well. Also my children like all the nice things on the beds. My whole family aggreed that this house can be highly recommended.

A wonderful "home away from home" rental house!
A wonderful "home away from home" rental house!
We stayed for a week, from 9-5-12 to 9-12-12 and this house was PERFECT for us! It was myself, my husband, and 2 other women, and we were all very comfortable. The full kitchen, 1 1/2 baths, and the laundry were wonderful! Seriously, why would anyone stay in a hotel?? We enjoyed veggies from the garden, the decks, and the perfect location so close to the Maine Petanque Courts, where we competed that weekend. It was an easy drive to Acadia to go gliding, and to Bar Harbor to play tourist. Cindy did everything to make our stay as easy and comfortable as possible, we didn't want for anything. I can highly recommend this charming house for anyone wanting to stay in Blue Hill.

This house is beautiful and very comfortable and equipped with all amenities. It is very accessible and close to the Acadia National park. Blue Hill itself is also a pretty town with an accessible beach which is not crowded. The owners were very helpful and responded clearly and promptly to all our enquiries. They were very forthcomming with helpful tips that made the trip more enjoyable. It was also quite reasonably priced. We definitely recommend this home and hope to be back!.

My husband and I, 99 year old mother, and another couple totally enjoyed this immaculate and well situated home. It was not far from Bar Harbor, but away from all the hustle and bustle. Cindy was always ready to answer any questions, and supplied us with all kinds of brochures and helpful info about places to see. I would definitely recommend this home to other friends. It was also quite reasonably priced. We will be back!!!

Owner response: Thank you so much for your review, Suzanne. It was a pleasure having you as our guest. I am so glad that you enjoyed your visit and we look forward to having you back again. Most sincerely, Cindy and James
My wife, 2 kids (4 and 6yo) and myself had a wonderful time in Blue Hill. It is close enough to Acadia to make day trips to the park and at the same time it is far enough that you can experience the area. The house is as depicted in the pics or even better. Fairly priced and the homeowners are caring and extremely supportive during both the planing and stay. We defintely recommend it.

Year Purchased: 2008
About the owner: I purchased this home in the spring of 2008. I loved the Village of Blue Hill and all the cultural, musical, and educational events available. I met my husband just a few months later, who also had a home. We are both Registered Nurses, and James is a retired Largo City Florida Fireman/Paramedic. We have 5 young adult children together. We love to hike, boat, garden, listen to music, and explore the Blue Hill Peninsula as well as the Bar Harbor area.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Blue Hill Village is a unique town along the coast of Maine. It is filled with many cultural and family oriented activities. The area is a wonderful center for musical organizations with Kneisel Hall offering chamber music, the Bagaduce Chorale offering various types of entertainment, Contra Dances at the Town Hall, and the Flash and the Pan Steel Drum Concerts in the Park. Blue Hill is also the home of the Bagaduce Music Lending Library. Blue Hill Village offers unique shops, art museums, and several historical sites to view. Blue Hill also has a small hospital close to the house, unique stores, a Rite Aid, and the Tree of Life which is home to an upscale thrift store. Blue Hill is close to the Deer Isle/ Stonington Peninsula, Fort Knox and the Observatory, Mount Desert Island, Bar Harbor, the Acadia National Park, and Brooklin, where the Woodenboat Magazine is based. There are several local farmers who participate in the many markets available at the Blue Hill Fairgrounds and the Blue Hill Congregational Church. The Blue Hill Fair is a family delight during the Labor Day Weekend. Walk to the Fairgrounds from our house. The busy town of Ellsworth is just a short drive away with additional shopping, an LL Bean store, the Black Mansion, and a movie theatre. The Blue Hill Library has many programs available for all ages as well as Maine Environmental Research Institute (MERI) which offers classes to children and adults.
