The guesthouse has just been completed in 2011. It was built in response to visitors who declared the view to be the best on the island! The property is located on 2.76 acres in North Kohala, and is surrounded by beautiful green pastures with horses, cows, sheep and goats. The grass is green and the sky is almost always blue. The trade winds provide incredibly clean air quality. Electricity is provided by a solar panel and wind turbine on site. The guesthouse has a living room with 40 inch flat screen TV and DVD player. The bedroom has a Queen size bed. A roll-away bed and convertable sofa make sleeping space for 2 additional persons. A full size washer and dryer are located in the unit, along with a full size side-by-side refrigerator/freezer, convection/toaster oven, full size microwave, hot plate and Keurig coffeemaker. The bathroom has a Jacuzzi (jetted) tub and shower. You are welcome to borrow body boards, beach chairs and towels. If you need anything, just ask!

This was the perfect cottage for our Big Island getaway! Setting was friendly and serene. Cottage was VERY well-maintained and clean with like-new furnishings, linens, dinnerware, cookware, etc. The owner was very friendly and helpful during our stay -- couldn't ask for any better host! We would HIGHLY recommend this cottage to anyone who wants a quieter, non-resortlike vacation in North Kohala.Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Gorgeous views of the ocean, wonderful hideaway for two, warm days and cool nights blessed with constant trade winds. This new, clean, delightfully decorated and quiet questhouse is located on the secluded North Kohala area of the Big Island. Our hostess was unfailingly kind and considerate, offering information and amenities when needed while also allowing us privacy and solitude otherwise. We loved this jewelbox of a guesthouse and recommend it highly. You won't be disappointed!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.

This guest house on Melea Ridge in Hawi is very peaceful...I stayed there for a few days, and it was the retreat I needed. The stars were vivid at night, and the only sound was the windmill - during the day the views of Maui were incredible. It is private and comfortable - I slept well and enjoyed the whirlpool bathtub. Its location in Hawi is just ten minutes drive from 3 beach parks, the grocery store, post office, bank, etc...but it feels very secluded and private. The listing accurately describes the property, and it is far more beautiful than the photos suggest. The rental was clean and well maintained, and the owner was wonderful about providing anything I needed. I recommend this rental as it provides everything you may be looking for while on vacation.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: It is always helpful to have guests who let me know what they need that I might not anticipate ahead of time. My goal is to see that guests have just the kind of stay they are looking for!
