You'll be surrounded by gorgeous, unsurpassed mountain views from our 22-acre ridge of gardens, woodland and fields. We'll welcome you with warmth and special amenities. And we'll pamper you with luxurious furnishings that compliment such a spectacular vacation destination. Just a few months ago, we opened our WEST WING -- a totally private and independent, 2-bedroom/2-bath cottage, partially attached to our Main House. It is sound-separated from the Main House by two exterior walls and double exterior doors. And it was designed at an angle from the main House to ensure visual privacy. It is also out of sight or sound of our other vacation rental, the "CABIN at Kilkelly's", which is further down our ridge. The WING is 1800 square feet, two stories, with a king bedroom suite on each floor. It has its own driveway, its own parking area, and its own four entrances; its own front porch, rear patio, and corner-wrapped deck -- all with tables and comfortable chairs and swings. It has its own heating/AC system and satellite TV system; its own foyer, and its own living room, kitchen, pantry, and billiard room. And best of all -- it has its own breathtaking, panoramic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, valleys, sunrises, and sunsets.
There are flowering trees, beautiful landscaping, and seasonal vegetable gardens. There are outdoor play areas, nearby cascading streams, and even a short but adventurous climb to our own little cave. It's also a perfect place to experience dramatic weather changes and cloud formations. And at night, it's a star gazer's dream!
Our ridge is private and peaceful. There are no nearby highways or highway noise, and no city lights to interfere with the brilliant starry sky. And we have another little gift from Mother Nature: We've NEVER HAD MOSQUITOES!
So our goal is to share this remarkable natural setting with our
guests by providing private, warm and luxurious accommodations, and a memorable visit to the Blue Ridge Mountains.

It's a perfect place to experience dramatic and beautiful weather changes and cloud formations -- and stars at night. (we furnish binoculars)! Our closest attraction, the Blue Ridge Parkway is the largest National Park in the US. It alone offers the most scenic and dramatic views of the mountains of western NC, as well as numerous hiking trails, horseback riding, biking river rafting, river/lake canoeing and fishing, picnicking, cascades, waterfalls, and dramatic rock outcrops. Why the Owner Chose BooneWe are blessed to live in an unusually beautiful place with the mountains surrounding us. With safe, paved road year-around access, we are just off the Blue Ridge Parkway and only minutes from Boone and Blowing Rock. Yet we enjoy total privacy and serenity. There are no city lights, so the stars are magnificent. And with no nearby highways or traffic noise, we can hear the many sounds of nature. We have always enjoyed sharing the beauty of this property with others. In 2009 we built The Cabin at Kilkelly's, sitting on a finger ridge several hundred yards from the Main House. Because of its popularity, we decided to open the West Wing in the Fall of 2011. Like the Cabin, the West Wing is private and upscale, and shares the same spectacular views. So with this addition, we are looking forward to continuing our journey, meeting wonderful people along the way. And it remains our goal to provide the most unique, highest quality, and relaxing vacation destination in the Blue Ridge Mountains!
The Unique Benefits at this CottageNotwithstanding the panoramic views, the West Wing itself is a unique rental property. It has characteristics of a B&B through its warmth and upscale appointments. But because it offers so much more, we feel it's better categorized as a private luxury cottage that's simply attached to a large home. We DO NOT rent the Wing to unrelated guests at the same time. Our guests simply decide if they need one or two bedrooms, and they only pay for what they need.

The West Wing was better than I anticipated!!! Plenty of room for 2 couples - with private settings for each. The greatest pleasure was from the beautiful mountain range and the lovely grounds surrounding the home. Many thanks to Joanie and Gary for sharing their piece of paradise with us!

We were overwhelmed by the views and peaceful setting. Gary and Joanie have lushly landscaped the property surrounding the house. A gardener's paradise! West Wing is beautifully appointed - not a speck of dust! Spacious light filled baths with thick towels. Delish breakfast casserole for the morning... Bird feeders all around the property and lovely to watch. Swing out on a 50 ft swing, relax in the hammock or take a hike. Blowing Rock and Boone have great restaurants and arts and music and shops.

We had a great time and once again the Kilkellys were excellent hosts! Our boys loved it here and consider the Kilkellys family! We will be planning many more trips here! The view is unbelievable! Thanks again. The sausage and grits casserole was excellent.,.....Well we stayed another night, snowfall unbelievable and sledding on their hills awesome! We can't think of nicer people to stay with. This has been a fun filled, amazing view and enjoyable time! We WILL be back soon :-)

We came to North Carolina for our kids to see snow (which they did) and had a wonderful time. The view is spectacular here and we loved all of the bird feeders. The Kilkellys thought of absolutely everything to make our stay feel like home - we will definitely be back! Thanks you so very much!

What an incredible adventure we had! If we could change anything it would be -- to be able to stay longer!! We loved the illusion of being in the middle of nowhere but didn't have to drive for hours to go anywhere. The views were some of the best we have seen anywhere. In the 20 years we have been renting cabins we have to say this was the most well equipped out of all of them. I know we will have to recommend this place to everyone but would love to keep this secret to ourselves! Thanks

When we saw the pics on the internet, we knew this place would be nice. However, the pics do not do it justice. The views are absolutely breathtaking. The property is immaculate. We were blown away by the hospitality of Gary and Joanie. They're the kind of people you feel like you've known all your life. They welcomed us and our children like family. The breakfast and bon-bons were delicious! Thanks you for making our trip so memorable!!! Oh and for taking our Christmas pics. We will be back!

I was looking for a place that was beautiful, peaceful, relaxing, private and with great mountain views. This was definitely the place plus more than expected. My husband and I loved the mouth-watering dessert and wonderful breakfast. It was the perfect place to celebrate 25 years of marriage.

We enjoyed our weekend here. The views are wonderful. When you are looking for a quiet restful place to come, this is it. We had a wonderful time. The suite is beautiful, the breakfast was very good.
