"CASA LINDE" is located in the Otero-by-the-Plaza Compound. The Compound is just three blocks from the Plaza and five blocks from Canyon Road.
This 2 bedroom, 2 bath adobe home offers tasteful decor, a gracious and convenient kitchen/dining/patio flow, an uncommonly close proximity to the Plaza--just a five minute stroll to the historic heart of Santa Fe-- and 1230 square feet of Mexican and New Mexican furnishings and folk art. Central to the living room is a hearth flanked by a hand-crafted mesquite entertainment center. Off the adjoining dining room is a quality-equipped separate kitchen. Off the kitchen is a small office with a large desk. The flagstone patio has barbeque, umbrella table and chairs. The spacious yard beyond is ringed with old pine, locust and apple trees and provides ample off-street parking. There is high speed internet access throughout the property and HDTV.

CASA LINDE comfortably accommodates up to four guests in beds. One bedroom provides the option of a king or two twin beds; the second bedroom has a queen bed. There is also a double-sleeper-sofa in the living room. When other homes in this compound are combined, sixteen guests can be accommodated (see VRBO #8979). In conjunction with our other ColorfulSantaFe homes in the same area, we can accommodate up to 42 guests. A favorite for reunions, multi-family get-togethers, and special celebrations.

Sale! 195/Ni Jan-Feb--Folkart and Mexicana - 3 Blocks to Plaza

Year Purchased: 2002

Why the Owner Chose Private Homes, Historical Downtown

Years ago we hand-built a now somewhat-celebrated, environmental strawbale home in the Jemez Mountains above Santa Fe. Ten years ago we decided to purchase an in-town pied a'terre--just a small gem-of-a-place in which we could overnight during shopping trips in Santa Fe. Wanting to get the right place in the right location, we engaged in an eight month exhaustive search and ended up purchasing--not one--but two adobe homes in this historic neighborhood just 3 blocks from the Plaza. They became our first guest homes. Now, in addition to living in this same neighborhood, we manage 8 guesthomes in the same residential block. Why were we so seduced by this neighborhood? In short, it is partway up the ONLY knoll close to the Plaza. So from within any of our guesthomes, there is a constant sense of place: Our over-the-roof-top-views are of the historic Santa Fe Cathedral against a backdrop of mountain ranges and inspiring sunsets. AND WITHIN 4-5 WALKING MINUTES WE ARE DOWNTOWN--RIGHT IN THE VERY HEART OF OLD SANTA FE. Here the glories of historic Santa Fe and our Southwest landscape are bundled into one. Our fascinating guests keep coming back and are now friends. We'll never move!

Sir Dr. Russell Betts ("Russ") has lived and worked most of his professional life in Asia, the South Pacific, and Europe addressing issues relating to social, economic and political change. Now calling Santa Fe "home," Russ brings to Colorful Santa Fe his world-traveler perspective: comfortable, engaging lodgings to enliven cross-cultural worldviews.
Noel Bennett has lived most of her life in the Southwest. She is an abstract artist; her paintings grace the lobbies of several Santa Fe banks and are also available for viewing by appointment in the Noel Bennett Gallery. In past years Noel lived with the Navajo for eight years and authored nine books on Navajo weaving, history and culture. Noel brings to Colorful Santa Fe a well-honed sense of color and unique perspectives on native world-views.....
Together we welcome the opportunity of hosting you in Colorful Santa Fe!

Great Spot -- We'll be Back!

Guest: Geoff (Washington, DC)
Date of Stay: 01/03/12 Review Submitted: 01/18/12

This house is extremely comfortable, beautifully decorated, and within easy walking distance of the Plaza. Even has a parking space in the back although the driveway is a bit narrow. My wife and two college-age kids and I stayed here for three nights for some skiing, hiking, and sightseeing, and it couldn't have worked out better. Kelly was great. We'll definitely be back although next time we might try out one of the other Colorful Santa Fe properties just to see what it's like.

Thank you for everything - opening your home, great advice on hikes, restaurants, and general info. We thouroughly enjoyed our trip and will have great memories. You guys are very interesting people and we are lucky to have met you. Anytime you want to donate your personal home in the Jemez mountains - I will gladly accept - what a spectacular home - a home of my dreams. Thank you too, for lending us your cooler; it came in handy on the days we hiked. Warm Regard, Jane and Cindi

We had a wonderful time at Casa Colores, Linde and Adore. Thanks for the extra dishes that came in handy on Thanksgiving Day. Russ, Theron mentioned your connection to Prince Phillip and it would have been nice to hear your recommendations for places to see in London. Thanks again for everything. We'll be sure and recommend your property to anyone interested in visiting Santa Fe!

Thanks for providing such a welcoming and comfortable "home away from home." Everything was perfect (!) for the six of us. We especially appreciated the opportunity to host our welcoming reception here in your courtyard! Our friends who "walked through" were impressed. You will most likely see some returnees in the future!

Just wanted to let you know what a fine time we had revisiting Santa Fe and staying in our delightful "casa." It was wonderfully appointed and made our brief stay most enjoyable. I have been telling friends about your guest homes. Thank you for showing us two of the other homes up the hill. Each one is unique and has its own personality.
