Springwild is a three-acre property at the end of Boyer ln, where it's quiet. It is surrounded by open fields that roll to the Rio Fernando and it's red willows, thousands of migratory birds and mountain views that will take your breath away. The colors at the edge of the day is what brings artists to Taos and the views of the Sangre de Cristo at sunset are incredible. Springwild is perfect for your family vacation or family reunion, wedding parties, couples getaway, friends retreat, or for an artist or writer looking for peace and quiet.
The house was built by artist, sculptor, architect, landscape artist, philosopher, gardener, dietitian, cook, poet and steward..... Malcolm Brown (1925-2003). He described life at SpringWild as an experiment in transition to a world of peace, happiness and fulfillment for all.
The unique structure of the Main House is brimming with detailed woodwork of a craftsman. This is not your ordinary house, the longer you're here the more you see. The whole south/east side of the house is windows. When the sun rises over the Canyon Saddle it brings the morning suns warm rays into the kitchen... a great morning spot.
The ground floor consists of the living area, full gourmet kitchen, one bathroom, one Master bedroom and the laundry room. Up a short flight of stairs next to the laundry room is a private bedroom with a view of everything, the kitchen garden, the pastures, the Rio, out to the mountains.
The second level of the house holds two beautiful built-in king size beds lined by windows overlooking the property. Climb out to the veranda to relax and enjoy the mountain view.
On the third level is a cozy queen-sized sleeping area surrounded by windows, perfect for star gazing. The kids love this room. From here a stairway leads up to a warm, single person meditation room.
Just a few steps outside the main house is the 'Bath House'. This is a full bathroom, heated and carpeted with a beautiful mosaic shower/tub, toilet, sink and a large dressing area. The Bath House is warm... and fuzzy... and private.
There is a large area right outside the kitchen with a big table, umbrella, BBQ, bar area, croquet pitch and sunset Taos Mountain views. During the summer enjoy eggs from our chickens and fresh vegetables from our organic garden. You will love this enchanted place.

Had a wonderful stay. the property was beautiful. The house was very unique and very artistic clean and comfortable. Stayed with my mother and two sons, there was plenty of room in the house . We enjoyed the beautiful views the quietness the serenity of the property. We really enjoyed the fresh eggs in the morning also we were given vegatables from the garden. The hospitality was great the owner was kind and very helpful. My sons enjoyed the two king size beds on the second level like a loft also watched the stars from the second story balcony. Words cant describe the feeling of this place . loved the meditating room very cozy feeling. There is also a collection of books to choose from . I would not hesitate to come back. Just an overall beautiful place to experience.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

About the owner: I worked at a Sacred Heart school in California for 23 years. During that time I chaperoned a group of high school students on a trip to Taos. I fell in love with the beauty of the land and the pace of life here. When I found this property I knew it was a special place and had to be shared with others.
