My family and I just spent the 2011 Christmas holiday here and had an outstanding experience. The house is very much like the pictures and in many ways better ( pictures don't do the ocean views justice). Bob was very helpful and more than accommodating in every detail, he very much wants your time at his home and Las Catalinas to be special and memorable. The house was new, well kept and very clean - the housekeeper Evelyn was a real joy, very personable and prepared great breakfasts. The bedding is very comfortable and everything you need in a house rental from kitchen utensils to beach towels are there, no disappointments. We spent many sunsets and evenings on the top floor roof deck where the views of the ocean and night sky were amazing, my son snagged the adjacent room for the stay. The Las Catalinas area is a very interesting ambition and has a wonderful start with a small beach front community that feels very warm and friendly. There is a restaurant (Lolas) with great food and a store front (Pura Vida) that rents everything you need for fun on the water and mountain biking. We have spent many years traveling to CR, renting homes in different areas (Osa, Manual Antonio, Dominical, Palo Seco, Jaco, Hermosa, Tambor, Mal Pais, Los Suenos) and can honestly say this was one of the nicest and most complete stays we have ever had. We will be back....Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

We had a truly wonderful experience at Casa Sirena at Las Catalinas. The house is beautiful (the pictures are completely accurate) and the staff made us feel truly at home. There's something for everyone--relaxing and walking on the beach if you want to take it easy or biking, kayaking, hiking, and many other activities if you want to be active. There is also a lot to do outside of town, but we found ourselves wanting to stay around and enjoy Las Catalinas most of the time.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Our recent experience surpassed all of our expectations. The people were extraordinarily friendly and more than willing to please. Due to the newness of the resort they were still training etc however the enthusiasm of the staff made up for any perceived deficiencies. The ocean was spectacular with sunsets that got better each day. i would highly recommend this for anyone whether you just want to relax and do absolutely nothing or if you want to spend your time with abundant water and outdoor sports. Be sure to arrange for a morning Costa Rican breakfast, they are absolutely delicious.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Why the Owner Chose Las Catalinas:
We built Casa Sirena in the Beach Town of Las Catalinas simply because it is the coolest and most organized place in all of central America
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Staying at Casa Sirena allows you to live in a Beach Town that was built on a people scale and not on a car scale. The cars are set back away from the houses and the town concierge will transport you around on electric vehicles as needed. I myself walk or ride my bike everywhere. I can jump on my beach cruiser or mountain bike and go to Lolas for a seared Ahi salad and cold Imperial beer or continue on to Pura Vida ride for an espresso or Italian Gelato. I can go ride the incredible ocean view mountain bike trails, just go hike, or ride by horseback on the horse trails. I can go standup paddleboarding, or surfing, snorkeling or just watch everyone. I love to people watch.
