The Gulf Coast is a tropical haven for sports lovers with many coral inlets with white sandy beaches. Boating and all outdoor activities are practiced in abundance, craft of all sizes can be hired by the hour, day, or chartered long-term for enthusiasts. Sail boats as well as power boats and jet skis may be hired by complete beginners. Parascending and microlight aircraft may be experienced. Golf is available to everybody at many public and private courses within a few minutes drive. Pro-tuition is at hand if required. Many other outdoor activities may be enjoyed from bird watching, snorkeling, scuba diving, water ski-ing, and outdoor barbecuing.
The beaches are safe to swim from. Within 5 minutes drive is one of the top ten listed beaches of the United States. Fort De Soto is truly a magnificent experience: Enjoy the crystal white sands stretching for miles fronting a National Park full of wildlife ie raccoons, armadillos, and birds of prey like ospreys. Enjoy swimming in this wonderful wildlife environment. It must be stressed that from the Gulf Pier at Fort De Soto the wild life is abundant. You can fish and whilst doing so enjoy seeing dolphins and their babies so close!!! Also sport fish, Tarpon, and Grouper are caught from this pier. There are barbeque facilities at Fort De Soto and you can also rent kayaks and bicycles. If you enjoy using roller blades there is a dedicated track around the park. Exclusive waterfront condo 2 bed 2 bath on private island. Isla Del Sol is situated on St. Pete Beach on the Gulf Coast of Florida. In the centre of this landscaped tropical private 350 acre island is the exclusive Isla Del Sol Golf & Country Club. The condo is fully equipped with all the amenities you would expect in America and offers air con, dishwasher, washer/dryer, microwave, fridge/freezer/icemaker, and electric barbecue. All bed linen and towels are provided. The view from the balcony is exceptional. The balcony has comfortable furniture to relax on or dine from, a necessity when watching for dolphins and pelicans. Also to been seen from the balcony are manatees, sting rays, snowy egrets, roseate spoonbills, turkey vultures, great frigate birds, and sea eagles.
The condo is connected to 100 channel cable TV and there are TV’s and VCR’s/DVD’s in both bedrooms and the lounge. There is also a stereo radio and CD player.
Enjoy use of the heated swimming pool and jacuzzi on the water’s edge. Fishing dock is also a great feature of this holiday experience.
Nearby St. Petersburg, set at the entrance of Tampa Bay, is a thriving city housing many museums and art galleries including the Salvador Dali. There are tropical gardens galore, the Sunken Gardens with thousands of sweet scented trees and herbs, Cypress Gardens, and Busch Gardens.
The Pier is worth a visit (it is an upturned pyramid!) with shops restaurants and an aquarium.
If you do decide to leave this tropical paradise for Orlando it’s theme parks are about and an hour and a half’s drive away; the Everglades is about a three hour drive. Miami is about a five hour drive.

We had a great experience with John and Sue's "Beach House"! They are great to work with. The Fort DeSoto Park and Beach fare fantastic and only a stone's throw away. Great! Great! Great!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

In May of 2011, my husband and I rented the condo on Palma Del Mar Blvd. in the Isla Del Sol complex and we were not disappointed in any way. The condo is located in a nice area which is convenient to shopping, restaurants and, of course, fishing – our main reason for going to Florida. It felt like a home away from home. The condo is well maintained, very clean and is nicely furnished, and the beds are comfortable. About the owner: I have been visiting America and Florida for at least 35 years. I was married to Sue in 2006 on St Pete Beach at the Don Ce Sar hotel.We bought the condo a result of our having 2 U.K homes when we met. We think of our Florida property as a second home and is furnished and maintained to the highest standards
Why the Owner Chose Isla del Sol:
A friend of ours spent almost 2 years searching for the perfect location on the west coast of Florida.She invited us to holiday with her and we fell in love with Isla Del Sol.Our first condo was a 1 bed in tower without a water view. On one of our visits we walked around the sea wall around the island (very therapeutic) and we saw where 209H was situated and we knew we had to buy there.We subsequently bought and renovated our condo to a very high standard.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
The wildlife to be see in and around St Pete and Fort De Soto are incompairable.With the sea wall being only 10 yards away, with the advantage of luxury elevated seating on the balcony, an uninterrupted view of dolphins, manatees, ospreys etc can be seen. The fishing dock is 50 yards away. The shops on both Isla De Sol and Tierra Verde are within strolling distance as is the Isla Del Sol Country club and Marina where tennis is included in the attractions
