Welcome to a special place “Clos des Glycines”....a secluded stone cabin, a 'cabanon', that is just a short walk from the center of the village of Pezenas, France.
Quiet tranquil and private, the 'cabanon' lies behind a ancient stone wall, surrounded by a vineyard. It is a ideal place for soulful recuperation, relaxation, and delicious privacy. The setting is perfect for a family, a couple, or individual traveler.
A large private garden of fruit trees, flowers, and tall shade trees offers a rare opportunity in today's fast paced world to sit back, reflect, relax or simply laze about reading, talking with friends, painting, writing or just being, It is the sound of birds, the smell of the earth, “les fleurs” and the ring of steeple bells tolling the hour.
Activities
For those in search of activity and recreation, the outside world of village life and sports is nearby. Beaches are just 20 short minutes away. Wonderful bicycle rides along small rues, away from traffic, trace through vineyards and charming surrounding villages. For longer rides, a journey along the Canal du Midi starts at Agde and can last a day, or many days for those wanting a more extended journey, stopping and staying in inns along the way.
Location
Once inside the village of Pezenas, finding Clos des Glycines is simple. From the Avenue Verdun which runs around the village, pass the large parking lot (Place du 14 Juillet), then follow the curve right over the bridge and the creekbed. Once past the bridge, turn left onto Rue de Nizas, travel about 1/2 mile, just past the sign on the right, which marks that the traveler is leaving the village of Pezenas. After the sign, travel approximately 100 metres to the first drive on the left. Turn left and Clos des Glycines sits on the right.
Testimonials
“Clos des Glycines is a wonderful retreat on the edge of the village of Pezenas. The location, a short walk to the village center, put us close to the charm of an historic town, but far enough away to make us feel like we were in the forest. We used the modern highways with ease visited a wide variety of destinations.....beaches, castles, Roman aqueducts, and ancient ruins. This is not the hustle and bustle of Paris. It was a memorable vacation, and we look forward to our return.' Holly & Michael * California * 11/2010
Ronnie - We are back at work feeling great! We had a wonderful time, your little place gave us exactly what we needed. We went with lots of plans to go places but in the end we did very little, We just enjoyed the sun, the town and your garden. You are very lucky to have a place so secluded but also so close to town. We would love to come back again, perhaps later in the summer/Autumn if its available.

Great place to stay if you are looking to get away from it all. No TV etc, which was a great plus! Wonderfull spacious garden, very quiet, yet close to the center of a lovely town with tons of history and character. Very small cabanon, set up for basic cooking and sleeping; otherwise best for outdoor dining and play in the spacious yard. Walking distance to town and centrally located to explore the South-East of France.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

I have been looking for a place to escape to. A place where i could be alone, simply enjoy being alive and choosing who I would be around. This little hideaway did it all for me. I could be alone, I could be into my own thoughts, then walk out the gate and take a stroll into the village for a cafe creme and a croissant and just be. I did this every morning, only to return to the magical hideaway in France. Just so nice. Thank you for the delightful break from the frenetic pace of life. Hello Ronnie, We enjoyed our time in Pezenas; I hope you had a nice vacation also. Our 10year old son Tristan had a blast fishing off the bridge. It was his favorite pastime while we were there. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet of the area and the large garden. Everything was working well. The kitchen is well stocked with nice cookware. The shower is great. All in all the area has lots to offer. Pezenas is a lovely town. Your cabanon is the perfect place to enjoy it all. If we ever visit that area again we will let you know and hopefully be able to stay in the cabanon again. Kind regards, G&D WDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Clos de Glycines is a wonderful retreat on the edge of the village of Pezenas. When you drive your car through the gate, you enter your own private world sitting in the middle of a working vineyard. The trees filter the light as you close the gate, and you wander the large yard, sipping some local wine, and reflecting on the day’s adventures. The serenity is rejuvenating. The Cabanon is quite comfortable with all of the necessities for a memorable vacation. The kitchen is equipped to prepare a fine meal from the bounty of the local market, or you can dine in the cafes and world class restaurants of the village. This is a unique experience. The location, just a short walk to the village center, puts you close to the charm of an historic town, but far enough away to make you feel like you are in out in the forest. You are able to access the modern highways with ease, putting a wide variety of destinations on your day trip list........the beach, castles, Roman aqueducts, and ancient ruins. The entire region is full of history and friendly locals, making for a relaxing getaway. This is not the hustle and bustle of Paris. Our week here was truly a memorable vacation, and we anticipate our return. Holly and MichaelDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Why the Owner Chose Pezenas:
I found this wonderful property via a long time french friend. Upon first seeing it, I fell for the quiet and peacefulness of the cottage, the large garden surrounded by a ancient stone wall and entry gate. Quiet and serene, yet only blocks away via a abandoned train trestle bridge crossing over the small stream that makes its way through the village, blocks away from the Village Saturday food, vegetable and antique market. Peaceful and quiet and only a short walk to the vitality that is distinctly Pezenas.
