The home is located on the south side of Mount Saint Helens, a short distance from the boat ramps at Lake Merwin/ Cresp Bay and Yale Reservoir/ Saddle Dam. Near by is also the beautiful Lewis River and Merrill Lake. For the avid fisherman bring your boat for easy access to the boat ramps. For Fly Fisherman there's fly fishing only areas, on Merrill Lake and Lewis River. For the golfer there's the Lewis River Golf Course located on the Lewis River, also offers fine dining.
East of Cougar is The Swift Reservoir it's a massive mountain lake with boating sports. For the Mt St Helens climbers the Cougar climber registration is a short drive. For scenic drives and hikes there's gorgeous water falls to visit. The Ape Caves are also a popular destination for children and adults. In the winter there's a snow park east of Cougar for snow mobiles and cross country skiing.

Enjoyed our stay very much. The accommodations are perfect and felt right at home. We explored the caves and the beautiful reservoir. We went on several hikes and saw two bull elk on a walk in the woods behind the house. Most of all Vickie for meeting us on such short notice, turned out to be a memorable family gathering.

Thanks for sharing such a special place with us Vickie. We’ve had a wonderful time and just wish we could stay longer. Two of us did the big hike up to the rim of the crater an absolutely perfect day and the other two of us took some more modest hikes. Loved exploring Ape Caves and Lava Canyon and walking on such well maintained trails. Thanks to your well equipped kitchen we made some great meals. Hope to come back at some point.

Our family gathered for my 60th birthday a wedding at Anderson Lodge and to celebrate the birth of our first grandchild in November. Wonderful accommodations. The kitchen is well stocked and the area is amazing. Thank you for sharing your vacation home with us.

Thank you so much for the wonderful home-such great gathering spaces, well stocked kitchen and beautiful views all the way around. It was a lot of fun celebrating Thanksgiving here. We will definitely be back hopefully in the summer so we can enjoy all the outdoor options.

We had a wonderful time at your home. It was perfect. My husband and daughter went canoeing on Lake Merwin and found some beautiful waterfalls. On Saturday, our entire group climbed Mt. St. Helens. It was wonderful having a place to come back too after that adventure. On Sunday, we explored Ape Caves and had to go home. It was much too short of visit.
