We visit southwestern Montana on a regular basis and rented the Back Eddy for our last trip. It was certainly nice to have a "Home" away from home for our two week stay. The house has all the amenities you need including washer and dryer, which was great for the extended vacation. The house is just as pictured, very comfortable, clean and the people in the area were wonderful and very friendly. We enjoyed the evening and morning arrival of deer and moose in the back yard--yes we had a momma moose and calf several times. The house is just on the edge of town so we could easily walk to the grocery store, restaurants, pub, etc. By the way, Booze and Buns has a wonderful wine selection for a small town. The location is great for day trips to Yellowstone, Virginia City and close enough to even do Bozeman and back. Fishing is great in southwestern Montana and Tom had a blast. We certainly will rent this house again and thank Patty for sharing her lovely home with us.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

Perfectly situated to fish many Montana rivers including the Madison, Ruby, Jefferson, Big Hole and Beaverhead. Our August trip provided some of the best dry-fly fishing we've had... Very comfortable and accommodating, quiet and convenient place to base out of for exploring Montana. Owner is the best!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

This house is a great find in a lovely part of Montana. We were able to walk to everything in Sheridan, while feeling happy with the private setting and quiet comfort of the house. We enjoyed relaxing in the shady backyard viewing mountains and the sunset. We also got in some hiking in a National Forest, and visited Virginia City. Next time we'll bring our fishing gear and try the nearby waters! Thanks for a terrific stay.Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary weekend and found the Back Eddy to be comfortable and a very easy place to relax. Patty thoughtfully left a bottle of wine for us to celebrate with and recommended dinner at The Old Hotel in Twin Bridges. Her restaurant suggestion was perfect, with delicious food that we wouldn't have predicted in rural Montana. The large kitchen at the Back Eddy was an easy place to cook breakfast. The floor layout was a bit unusual, with 2 bedrooms of the dining/living rooms and the 3rd accessed through the bathroom, which was on the other side of the kitchen, but it worked fine for us and we're likely to stay again sometime with the rest of our family.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

What a great place to stay. Spent the end of July 2011 at the Back Eddy on a fishing trip. Home is immaculately clean and comfortable. Quiet street and plenty of good places to eat nearby. Landlord checked in often to be sure everything was fine even though we never had a concern. Would recommend without hesitation.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway, people with disabilities, sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

About the owner: This area of Montana is great. Having traveled many years guiding and arranging fishing trips with my Guided Connections business, I found this region of Montana very inviting. The Back Eddy lets me spend down time in a quiet area, and enjoy the company of friends in a great setting. It is fun to be able to share this with other folks with similiar interests of fishing, birding, hiking and taking advantage of the great outdoor opportunites available from Sheridan with the home being a great base.- very comfortable!
Why the Owner Chose Sheridan:
Beautiful area of MT with lots of great rivers to fish in very close proxmity. Great fun to have these choices so you can target the river that is fishing best during your visit. Great birding on the back roads and a major nesting area for sandhill cranes in the state. Makes for good photo shooting.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Wonderful sunsets here! Down home town folk and neighbors. A true Western town in a gorgeous valley bordered by mountain ranges in every direction. Wonderful location for artists to visit.
