COOL OFF this summer! Come for a week, a month or an entire summer. This cozy country cottage is perfect for a quiet rest or a fun, active vacation. It's in a quiet setting, yet it's located A RESORT COMMUNITY!
If you want a quiet, peaceful, or romantic get-away, you need never leave this cottage. Sit on the deck, look out at the lush greenery that surrounds you, and listen to the birds. If you prefer the indoors, you can spend hours listening to music. My parents lived here for years, so there's even a stereo with LP records!
Enjoy reading from the large book collection or relaxing in front of the television (there are 2). Put a video into the VCR. There's a large video collection.
Spend time on your computer, since you have internet. If it's a cool evening, enjoy the beauty and warmth of the gas fireplace.
Years ago, this cottage started out as a beautiful mobile home. Over the years, my parents built an entire cottage around it, creating lots of space for everyone's enjoyment. Many others in Land Harbor Resort did the same.
IN THE RESORT--WALK DOWN THE STREET TO OUR 18-HOLE GOLF COURSE. Enjoy lunch in the Clubhouse. Swim in the large, outdoor heated pool. Play shuffleboard or tennis, take a boat out onto the large, beautiful lake as a romantic interlude. Or bring your fishing rod, since the lake is stocked with trout. Still within the resort, go fly-fishing in the Linville River, or just stroll along the river or hike the hills. OUTSIDE THE RESORT-- enjoy the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway, Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls and Linville Gorge. Go to nearby Watauga Lake to boat, water ski, jet-ski or para-sail. Go whitewater rafting in a nearby river. On dry land, enjoy hiking, rock climbing, cave explorations and horse-back riding.
To relax completely, enjoy a nearby day-spa, the local galleries and shopping. For the arts, you’ll find summer concerts, live theater and Elderhostel programs at many locations in the area.
Looking for ethnicity? Enjoy ethnic dining --Chinese, Mexican, Italian, Vietnamese, You’ll find a taste of Scotland at the Scottish Highland Games on Grandfather Mtn. and the nearby Tartan Restaurant. You’ll find Jewish culture at the local “chaverah”, in Little Switzerland and area colleges,synagogues and the JCC.

About the owner: My husband and I are both teachers. We teach and live most of the year in beautiful Maine. We love to travel and have taken our 2 kids to North Carolina and many other destinations throughout the country and the world whenever we’ve had the chance. NOTE: Nous parlons francais. Why the Owner Chose Linville:
My parents starting camping in their mobile home decades ago when Linville Land Harbor was just a campground. Over the years, Land Harbor evolved into a beautiful resort, and my parents added onto the mobile home. to create this lovely summer cottage. My husband and I have brought our children here each summer to vacation and visit the grandparents. Now the kids are grown, my parents are out of the cottage, and we’ve decided to rent it out when we’re not there enjoying it ourselves.

My kids love the pool, but my favorite activity is to take long walks with my husband. Each day, we step outside our door and start walking in any direction that strikes our mood. No matter where we walk, we are struck by the incredible beauty of the area—the colors of the flowers, the deep green of the foliage, the songs of the birds. It’s quiet, quality time for us as a couple.
