Sea La Vie -- Ocean View Beach House - Ideal for Families
- Minimum stay:N/A

- Wheel chair accessible:No
Start the day with a cup of coffee lounging on the deck or take a morning run on the beach. Later soak up some rays while relaxing on the beach and take a dip in the ocean or build a sand castle (we're just across the road from the beach -- about 1/2 a block or less). Maybe do a little surfing, fish off the Kure Beach Pier or in the Cape Fear River or explore the trails around Fort Fisher.
Drop by some of the local restaurants for lunch or dinner (Jack Mackerl's, Big Daddy's and Freddie's are by the Kure Beach Fishing Pier). Peruse some of the interesting shops in the Kure Beach, Carolina Beach, or Wilmington area for hidden treasures.
Looking for a little more excitement? Check out some of the Carolina Beach night spots available, take a walk on the boardwalk, ride the ferris wheel, etc. Or, drive to Wilmington for a little more cultural exposure and entertainment.
Finish off the evening by relaxing on the deck sharing highpoints of the day's activities. Or, take an evening stroll along the beach, enjoying the night air, and listening to the waves crashing on the beach.
The many windows in the living room/dining room/kitchen area creates a bright and airy openness. The 3 bedrooms are all spacious enough to easily accommodate a queen size bed, dresser and night stand and closet.
The TV room at the back of the house provides the kids a place to romp, play games, and watch their favorite movie or TV show while the grownups enjoy their own movies or TV in the comfortable living room.
Keywords: Open and airy layout with plenty of windows to let the sun shine in.

Many thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us! It is bright and cheerful. The living room furniture is my favorite place as all the color is so conducive for one's peace of mind. We had countless hours of joy on the sunny and sugar sand beach.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Thank you for sharing a beautiful piece of heaven. We had so much fun. It's hard to put into words the happiness & joy I had there. I had no idea that North Carolina beaches were so nice. I wanted to bring home every sea shell I saw. The fresh sea food stores were smelly, but great. Your house is in a perfect location.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Beautiful beach house! Exactly like you expect a beach house to be! Plenty of room 3 comfortable beds plus fold out couch and futon. Plenty of comfortable living space. Fully equipped kitchen, even a blender for those "boat"drinks! The wrap around porch offers plenty of great morning and evening conversations while listening to the surf. With just a short walk across the road to that beautiful beach it gives you a glimpse of what paradise is! Enjoy long walks on the beach and if you venture into town check out the fishing pier. I will definately come back to this little bit of paradise!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

What a beautiful home! The home was very clean and very nicely decorated. The beds were very comfortable and the colors and bedding was beautiful! It was great to have such a nice kitchen and so well stocked with dishes and pots and pans that were needed. We enjoyed fresh seafood each night for dinner. The little blue two story house in Wilmington has delicious seafood to buy. I had never eaten mussels before-they are great! The access to the beach was just minutes from the house and so clean, We also rented bicycles and rode to Fort Fisher. The traffic is considerate of bikers, which is very comforting. This was a girls extended weekend with six women sharing the space and we were never crowded or needed more space. The deck is very nice and we enjoyed much time relaxing out there. I would love to bring my sons and their families to Kure Beach and love to stay at the house again! Fabulous place!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children, girls getaway.

My children (ages 9 and 11) and I stayed in your home this summer and had an absolutely fantastic vacation! The house was exactly as mentioned, super clean and in excellent location to the beach. We really enjoyed having a separate TV for the kids (in the back porch area) so they were able to watch Disney, etc at evening...great set-up! We would love to rent the house again for next summer! Thank you!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you for reviewing your visit to our home at Kure Beach! We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed the house and that your vacation was fantastic! Our family feels that nothing compares to spending time at the beach. We're excited that you want to visit again. Looking forward to having you next summer!

We stayed at the house for one week around mid-August 2012. It is conveniently located across a public beach access. The beach is gorgeous and clean! The house has 3 bedrooms, plus a futon bed in a separate room. The photos give good justice to how the house looks in reality. The property was very clean and they have vacuum, dishwasher and laundry washer/dryer. We were a couple with a 9-month old baby who just smiled when he entered the house the first time. The house is pretty safe for a baby that age (sure, you need to glance at the baby sometime, especially because of the outlets...). The kitchen is fully equipped for people like us who spend more time cooking than laying on the coach! TV and WiFi is complementary. The rental companies we used (for the house and for the baby's crib) were very responsive. We really long to come back!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.
Owner response: Gaelle, Thank you for your positive review! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and want to come back! Our goal is to make our guests stay as pleasant as possible and appreciate your comments on what you liked and any suggestions for improving the experience. We hope you are able to make it back soon and next time we will be sure to have child proof outlets so that will not be a concern for your child's safety.

My sister and I actually were able to get away for some sister time. We had a ball shopping, dining, walking on the beach, walking on the beach, walking on the beach! Can you tell we loved being on the beach! Found lots of great sea shells. It was off-season and needed a light jacket but weather was beautiful. The house is so nice! Everything was very clean and nicely decorated. Beach access just across the street.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Wow! What a nice place to stay. It was just like being at home. We had a 10yr old and a 17yr old with us and they had a blast. They each got their own rooms. I must mention that I have never stayed anywhere that I have had such a comfortable bed. I would highly recommend this house to anyone. Just a hop, skip and jump away from the ocean. Property was very clean and well-maintained. We didn't have any problems. Everyone down their was extremely friendly. Lots of stuff to do. Really enjoyed the farmers market at Carolina Beach. One day we even had fresh seafood. We did alot of shopping. There are many stores to choose from as you go further into town. Grocery store was only less than 10 minutes away and very reasonable. We did the aquarium, the pier, went to South Port, went to the doughnut place and many other places. No complaints at all. Enjoyed the beach everyday, sometimes twice a day. House is near the end of the coast so there wasn't alot of traffic which is good. The neighbors were all very nice and friendly. I would highly recommend this place to any family, girls retreat, guy retreat, or just a couples retreat. Thank you soo much for letting us stay in your home. It was a vacation we will remember forever. By the way is was the first time we had ever been to North Carolina.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.
Owner response: Dear World Travelers, Thank you for the positive review. We are so glad to hear you stay was one that was pleasant and one that you will remember forever. Hope you will visit North Carolina again. We'd love to have you as our guest again!

The house is full of windows creating an open and airy feel. It's wonderfully relaxing and close to the beach and a running trail. It is also close to several local restaurants and shops perfect for a day of exploring. Overall my experience was excellent and would repeat it many times over!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

If you want to get to Wilmington, or Walmart, Lowes, etc. and not have to travel 25 miles per hr thru Carolina Beach with all the traffic, this is a faster route."K" Street turns into Dow Rd. and skirts Carolina Beach and takes you back to 421 just north of where Carolina Beach begins.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2011
About the owner: We're Nebraskans but North Carolina was home for 4 years and we loved it . Especially the times spent at the beach. The Kure Beach area has especially fond memories of trips to South Port , catching the ferry, spending the day at the beach, visiting the North Carolina Aquarium. Nothing like the ocean and a beach to relax.
Why the Owner Chose Kure Beach:
Kure Beach has a small town atmosphere much like the small Nebraska towns we grew up in with neighbors that are friendly and easy to get to know. A nice, family-oriented area. Since we currently reside in Nebrasaka and fly to North Carolina, it's nice to have the Wilmington airport 30-45 minutes from our house. We are also fortunate to have a friend at Kure Beach who oversees the place in our absence.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Our house is located towards the southern end of Kure Beach with beach access across the street. Being located about 30-45 minutes from the Wilmington airport is a definit plus. Close to activities yet in a family oriented area and on a quiet cul de sac. No large condos or huge hotels. Fresh local seafood. Farmers markets for fresh produce. Next to the ocean. Bike paths. Canoeing. Fishing. Surfing. Etc.
