Watch the sunset over the rugged Texas hill country as you enjoy the dream getaway of your very own cabin on the range. The bunkhouse consists of two bedrooms, 2 baths, a single fireplace inside with a living room including direct satellite television, full kitchen and a safari style deck for wildlife viewing at mealtimes and an outdoor firepit. This cabin sleeps 8-10.

Nearby the cabin is a renovated barn with 1 large bedroom with 8 beds and 2 bathrooms attached. There is a large open room as well available for parties, dances, family reunions or small weddings. The barn can be added to the rental of the bunkhouse but cannot be rented independently.

There is a large 2nd cabin on the ranch that sleeps an additional 15 guests for larger groups like corporate retreats or family reunions.

With 750 acres to hike, fish our ponds and view our many exotic animal species, this is a great place to get away from it all!

We are conveniently located 10 miles south of Brady and 15 miles north of Mason on Highway 87. Use our cabin as a destination unto itself, or as a launching point to great day trips around the hill country.

Our wedding at Selah Springs was superb! The ranch is a great testimony to the owner's vision for hospitality and we can't say enough about how great a time we all had! Places as classy as Selah Springs are generally a little stuffy, but not here. The ranch was opened to our enjoyment and enjoy it, we did. Beautiful river frontage with the kind of accommodations and hands-off hospitality that truly encourage relaxation. A perfect combination of rugged hill country and widlife for the fellas, coupled with a first class lodge and full ammenities for the ladies. I can see us spending several anniversaries and/or getaways on this property.

We had an amazing and memorable experience in our stay at the ranch. We came to the ranch with the hope of "getting away" for awhile. But it wasn't so much the rest (which was AMAZING) but our time together that made for a cherished memory. My son and I went on walks and brought along one of the many great books available in the cabin. We would walk for a bit and then sit together and read an adventurous story. Pretty soon I think he was feigning being tired just to get to listen to another tale of lions or elephants or crocodiles. We also took advantage of a cave tour (which you must go on) and he took one of his first steps toward manhood by overcoming a fear. The proud look on his face I will never forget. But this wasn't just a "boy haven". My daughter loved her time at the ranch as well. Like any little girl (3 yrs), she was amazed by the beauty of the place. From watching sunsets, to walking in her boots, and you wouldn't want to get her started on the animals. She LOVED them and wanted to keep them all. And don't get me started on the owners. They do all they can to go out of their way to make you feel at home and to give you the best experience possible. I would return again just for the chance to get to talk with them. This ranch is a great place for the family to make genuine lifelong memories.

Huge praise for what they are doing at Selah Springs Ranch. We could not have felt more welcomed and provided for. We rented both cabins on the ranch and did a bunch of hiking as a big family gathering. We brought all of our ATV's and cooked out on the porches and the kids explored the place like treasure hunters. Then they went down to the river and tried the rope swing and when they were still wet we came back and roasted marshmallows in the firepit. We were provided with a cave tour and a photo safari and the hosts were very generous with their time. We probably heard 20 stories from Phil about the really cool history of the ranch dating all the way back to the Comanches and each time he came back to visit he told us some more. It was like stepping back in time. The animals were incredible and we caught five fish and the kids enjoyed feeding the horses. We're excited to come back because it sounds like there are always new improvements in the works. We didn't learn until we left that they will cook for you as well - we'll look forward to trying that the next time. Thanks for a break from the madness of the city.

We really liked this place. If you're not afraid to get out and about there's really a lot to do and see. The animals were great. We sat all night by the fire pit and looked at the stars. There were trails to drive and hike. Just a lot of freedom. And the town on Brady was just nine minutes away which made everything very convenient. I loved how the cabin was decorated. Just a quiet, relaxing place for the weekend adventurer.

We mainly picked this property because my husband and 9 year old son were looking forward to fishing in the ponds and on the San Saba River. We were informed when we first arrived that the fish had died in the drought last summer, which put a damper on our 3 night visit. The San Saba river is about a mile down the road (no "private" access with this cabin, only the bigger one that we didn't rent), but it wasn't a good place to take the kids fishing (since the "public" access point was also low due to drought). The cabin on the property is located right off a highway. We did enjoy some hiking early in the morning and later in the afternoon at sundown. We did look for the caves but couldn't find them on our own - the owner did offer to show us, but we didn't get around to it. There are several different exotic deer species which my kids enjoyed watching. That part was very cool as advertised. We found several (over a dozen) black widow spiders around the outside of the house, so we weren't comfortable (especially with our 2 year old) sitting on the furniture to view any wildlife. The owners are extremely friendly and the cabin was plenty big for our family. Also was very clean and well decorated. In fairness, the cabin we stayed in would make for an ideal "boys weekend" getaway place.

Owner response: As much as we strive to serve our guests there is unfortunately nothing we can do about the drought last year. It did effect our fishing and our landscape but we are pleased to say that the land is in steady recovery now. One of the great joys of this place is exposing kids to the natural world, fishing included, and it is our prayer that steady rains will enable that for years to come. Spiders have never been mentioned before or since by any of our guests but since receiving this review we have taken further precautions to prevent them. As always we are very thankful to our guests for any feedback they can give us to improve our facilities and provide our future guests a more pleasant stay.

My two brothers and I, along with their sons, just returned from another enjoyable stay at the beautiful Selah Springs Ranch. We again stayed in the bunkhouse and, as always, it was clean, well equipped and inviting. The full kitchen allowed us to stay at the ranch and not travel to town for meals, although we did one night, just for variety (it's 10 miles). The sheets and bedding were crispy clean and smelled great, a welcome respite after a day with the wildlife. Speaking of wildlife, we enjoyed viewing and photographing native whitetail, axis, sika, blackbuck, oryx and any number of smaller mammals and birds. We will definitely return and look forward to watching the progress of exploring the recently discovered "Tom Sawyer" cave.

My extended family and I stayed at the cabin on Selah Springs Ranch for 5 days in November. We haven't had that much time together in years. There were no interruptions, we just grilled steaks on the back deck, played horseshoes, told stories, hiking everyday, watched football, roasted marshmallows around the firepit, then we watched the wildlife come into water each afternoon. We couldn't have asked for a better holiday. We drove 6 hours to get there and it was worth every moment!

We just returned from a 3 day retreat at the bunkhouse and it exceeded our expectations! The cozy cabin had room for all of us(9) to sleep comfortably. The kitchen was well equipped and the living room was the perfect place for a fire and late night conversations!! The location of Selah Springs is in the heart of the Hill Country and just the right place for us to get away from it all. We had the opportunity to drive to Fredricksburg and spend the day shopping, as well as hikes around the property to see the wild animals and caves!! I must say the sunsets on the swing were the best. It is a wonderful place to escape wih your girlfriends and have everything you need minus the stress of the city! We will be back again to see Phil and Andrea. Thanks for taking such good care of us and sharing your slice of heaven!!

The first time I pulled into Selah Springs Ranch I was greeted by a host of wild game all around the "Bunk House". Immediately I was in awe of where I was getting to stay. I was also surprised by the size of the 2 bed 2 bath house. It can easily hold a large group or family quite comfortably. I thoroughly enjoyed sitting by the fire, drinking a hot cup of joe, and reading my book. Walks around the ranch were quite serene. I found the beauty of Selah Springs is that it is a place of peace. It is beautiful place and provided all that I needed and more.

Selah Springs Ranch is any amazing and beautiful place to retreat and be refreshed. I have had the privilege of staying there on several occasions now and would count it as my favorite getaway spot. The accommodations of the house were perfect. Once you step outside the house you get to enjoy the beautiful views on the property and feel like you are on a safari. I would recommend anyone to make time to stay at the ranch so you can experience what I was able to.

About the owner: My wife and I are the full-time managers of Selah Springs Ranch - where the two cabins are located. We are in love with the Texas hill country and in particular the rolling hills of Selah Springs. We both have a love for people and sharing this place and our hospitality with them is our top priority. God has blessed us with this place and our hope is to share that blessing as often as possible.

The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
Our bunkhouse is a completely different hill country experience than the other cabin on the ranch. With wide open views, a large pond for fishing, a target range, and high vistas and hiking trails - this cabin provides our guests with instant access to the land and great opportunities for wildlife viewing. The cabin itself has the feel of a cozy secluded cottage with easy access to the nearby towns and lots of property to explore. The barn also adds sleeping for an additional 8 guests and enables bigger groups to hold parties or other large gatherings.
