Just eight miles outside of Hayward, watch the bald eagles soar and hear the loons call while sitting on your private south facing dock enjoying the unique beauty of the North Woods!
Comfortable in all seasons, there is plenty to do inside and out, with three bedrooms, sleeping loft, two family rooms, two fireplaces, fully equipped kitchen, spacious yard, fire pit, and dock space for your own boat!
During the summer months there are many outdoor activites to enjoy including the use of our two kayaks and canoe, fishing, biking, hiking, etc. There are also several nearby sandy swimming beaches just up the lake a bit.
In the colder months, world class X-Country ski trails or snowshoeing can fill your desire for exercise, however don't be surprised if you'll find just as much pleasure enjoying the ambiance of a winter's evening with a glass of wine in front of a woodburning fireplace.

Year Purchased: 2002
My husband and I are in our 50's. While we enjoy living and working in the Twin Cites, we are true nature lovers and thoroughly love the peaceful surroundings of the Wisconsin "Northwoods". We purchased the cabin 10 years ago in order to experience quality family time. We intentionally did not have a TV or internet for many years so that our three children would be encouraged to play games, read, do puzzles, go on hikes, talk (to us and each other :) ) etc. Now that our children are older they have learned to value these same activities and enjoy bringing their friends to share the "cabin experience".
Why the Owner Chose Hayward
We enjoy nature and often spend the entire weekend staying at the cabin, appreciating all of the many types of wildlife. However, we are also fairly social and truly enjoy going into town with friends to shop, go to a restaurant, take in a live performance at The Park Theater, or go to the wine cave for a glass of wine. Being 15 minutes outside of town lets us enjoy the best of both worlds!

Our first stay on this wonderful property! Exactly as described...very clean and well maintained, full equipped, extremely spacious yet warm & very charming, close to Hayward, great view of the lake and quiet! The weather kept us from enjoying the kayaks or fire ring by the lake but made for a great indoor experience, listening to music, reading and relaxing in front of both wood burning fireplaces! Bonnie was great to work with...very accomodating...made this all so easy. Will definintely recommend to others and may return this winter! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!

Our weekend at this cabin was fantastic! The cabin is beautiful and charming. It had everything needed for 7 of us to stay comfortably. The pictures represent the cabin perfectly. We really enjoyed the use of the canoe and kayak’s. We also brought our own boat for wakeboarding. The launch is just a couple miles away and there was room at the cabin dock to keep our boat. You do need to be careful of the shallow water in the bay area; there are some stumps to watch out for until you get to the big part of Nelson Lake. We ate at the Four Seasons Restaurant on the lake and the food was great! We went into the town of Hayward, (about a ten minute drive) and visited all the quaint shops including the famous Candy Store. Mini golf, Go-Karting and the original Famous Dave’s Restaurant are just minutes away. The cabin is a great location offering a secluded get away or the fun of Hayward if you choose.
Recommended for:Families with young children, families with teenagers.
