The Chien de Lune Chalet (Moondog Chalet) is a bright and sunny vacation home located on the Bartlett/North Conway line. This home has year-round mountain views from the main deck, a babbling, wooded brook off the side deck, and is located on a private cul-de-sac.
The chalet is located approximately twelve minutes from lovely downtown North Conway where you can find an activity for anyone in your party. There is a shopping center with numerous outlets offering tax-free shopping nearby. The chalet is close to five major ski resorts (Attitash - three miles, Cranmore - six miles, Black Mtn - five miles, Wildcat - 12 miles, and Bretton Woods - 19 miles). Spectacular Mount Washington for hiking and sightseeing is only 20 minutes away. The restaurant choices are too numerous to list and range from casual to elegant.
Wintertime activities include downhill skiing, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, ice climbing, hiking, skating, shopping, or just enjoying the scenery. Summer activities include hiking, Storyland (three miles away), Mount Washington Auto Road and Cog Railway, sightseeing from Cathedral Ledge, swimming at Echo Lake State Park or Diana‘s Baths, mountain climbing, rock climbing, hiking in the woods (plenty of trails nearby!), tennis (at the private, chalet association's tennis court), or just sitting on one of the two decks taking in the view.
Main Floor. Stunning views through large windows. Open living room area with cathedral ceilings and beams, large glass front woodstove, cable TV, DVD player, stereo, I-Pod connection, internet connection, new living room furniture (two custom ordered leather arm chairs), and ceiling fan. Bight and open dining area (seats six-plus; new). Fully-equipped kitchen with large breakfast bar and comfortable stools, range, refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher (all new appliances, top end). Large back deck with table and chairs. Front deck overlooking cul-de-sac and basketball. Small side deck overlooking stream.
Upstairs: Sunny and large loft bedroom with: wonderfully comfortable king size size bed (new Stearn and Foster pillowtop mattress); desk; reading chair; and mountain views. One full bathroom with treetop view, newly renovated tile shower, and new sink/vanity.
Downstairs. Two bedrooms and one bath. Bedroom one sleeps two and has: queen-size bed with new pillowtop mattress; large TV/video; and cable. Second bedroom sleeps three and has: full bed (new mattress), trundle bed, and small tv/video with cable. Full bathroom with: jacuzzi tub for two; newly renovated, (fantastic!) tile shower; new vanity/sink; and full sized sauna.
Large parking area outside, basketball hoop, private street. This house is strictly No Smoking and No Pets. There is a management firm which ensures the house is well-maintained and is on call 24/7 in case of emergencies.
