The unit was very nicely remodeled, the pool/hot-tub well maintained and the grounds well kept up really well. As a long time renter (more than 20 times) there was one issue that was somewhat irritating. Some of the children were very loud; sometimes screaming for hours and this isn't supposed to be aloud by the rental rules. In years past, these folks were asked to keep it down because it's very disruptive to many of the guests. The management let all this go even after complaints from several people were were brought to their attention.

Very Impressive Condo !

After having had a less than enjoyable experience in Puerto Rico with renting a condo in Nov. 2012 I was hesitant to embrace our choice in Maui. I love it when I am wrong! We thoroughly enjoyed this unit for fifteen nights and everything about it helped in making our vacation one of our best holidays we have ever had. I love to cook and was impressed with all of the cooking equipment available in the kitchen. If you discover your missing something to cook with in this condo you must be a professional chef. The bed is very roomy and comfortable. The lanai was our favorite place. It is large and we spent many an hour sitting on it overlooking the ocean and watching the whales. We ate most of our meals on it as we could not justify sitting inside with such a superb view. There are no lights to help with eating at night but it but it was easy to make do with a lamp from inside. The condo also had some boogie boards, coolers and beach chairs for use. We found these items very helpful when we were out and about on the island. The owners Debrah and Caron were easy to deal with throughout the planning process and we felt very welcomed before and during our stay. We never had a need to call them when we were there but knowing we could if needed made a big difference for us. My wife and I love to snorkel and we did allot of it all over Maui. However, we found one of the best snorkeling spots within walking distance from the condo. The coral is vivid with colour the fish are plentiful and turtles can be seen as well. I won't tell you exactly where it is as half the fun is finding it on your own but I can guarantee you that when you come across it you will know. Hint. It is not right in front of the complex! The only thing I would include in my review is the wind at Sugar Beach. It is much more pronounced here than in other parts of Keihei. I would not let this deter me from going back especially to this unit but it something that I feel should be highlighted. On exceptionally brisk days (we had two) we just went to another beach and found some other snorkeling spots and adventures.

As part of a family reunion in Sugar Beach, we found this unit exceptional with terrific views of the courtyard including pool area as well as the ocean and beach area. The unit was well stocked with essentials, was clean, easy to get to, and has an owner who is generous with answering questions and making the stay a very positive experience. I would highly recommend this unit to anyone interested in a great place to stay at Sugar Beach.

Wow what a vacation. This was our silver wedding anniversary and our expectations were high. We were not disappointed whatsoever. In fact, Sugar Beach and more specifically, the owners, exceeded our expectations! The description of the property was certainly accurate as were the photos, but you can't quite imagine the smell of the ocean from a photo, you must be there.......drinking it in every morning when you wake up. Just a few of the little things we appreciated about Deborah were: she replied to every e-mail I sent to her in a timely manner. I asked umpteen questions ie. is there a blowdryer and beach towels in the condo? (yes), where would she recommend we go for a rental car, etc., etc. The shower had shampoo and there was laundry soap and dryer sheets. These items may seem small, but when you must go to the store and purchase them, they are an added expense. The in-condo laundry was a dream......such a time saver....not needing to go to a laundramat. This god-send gave us even more opportunity to explore and soak up the sun. Also, Deborah gave us a 'helpful hints' list prior to our arrival, which gave us ideas regarding what to see and do etc. I would highly recommend this property to my friends, relatives and aquaintances. In fact we hope to go back next year. On a side note, this condo is very close to the Kihei Paddling Club. I noticed in the small Kihei newspaper that any visiting breast cancer survivor and her support person could join them for a free paddle. We did not partake......maybe next time.

Wow!!! Thank you so much Deborah and Caron. Our stay was wonderful and the unit was simply amazing. The views are twice as nice as the pictures! Between the plush comfort of the condo and the many resort amenities, (private beach, BBQ, etc.) our time spent on the property was as pleasurable and relaxing as we could have hoped for. Our stay at Sugar Beach Resort will be a huge part of our Maui vacation memories. Everything was perfect! Thanks again. B,J & K

Have you ever had the perfect vacation? I have, and it started when I flew onto Maui and I checked into Sugar Beach! From the outside I was a little concerned (Maui, like Mexico is a little dusty...different than the mainland), but I couldn't believe this condo. It was fully updated (looks like a magazine)....nicer than home! fancy sheets and towels. Anything I could think of that I may have needed was already there!! Even the laundry detergent!! The location is wonderful. The sunset was AMAZING, and practically right outside my window. The pool is great. I had no complaints, except for that I couldn't just move in! :) I can't wait to go back!

The unit is all updated, new carpet, fresh paint, nice furnishings, and lots of supplies (shower, laundry, cooking). Lots of usable items left in the frig (beer, water etc). The building and grounds are well kept, nice large pool, lots of lounge chairs, big hot tub, and nice beach. Nicest condo I have stayed in.

My boyfriend and I had the most amazing time here. We saw the gorgeous pictures and great reviews, but we still went feeling slightly skeptical and bringing way more than we needed to. Make sure you look around when you get there. There are books in drawers, including the "Maui Revealed" book that will help you first timers to the island. There are extra towels, extra pillows (my boyfriend was so excited about those), boogie boards, dvds, and the table set outside is amazing for having coffee and breakfast while watching the waves. There is also amazing cookware available (they don't have cheap stuff), including nice knives and silverware. Don't worry about bringing bars of soap (they have new ones in the box), body wash, shampoo, conditioner and a blow dryer. You can also do laundry there (yep, they have laundry supplies) in the room. The most amazing thing for us? The rice cooker. I innocently inquired to Deborah whether the condo had a rice cooker and she said that they didn't but that they were going to get one for us. I insisted that that was completely unnecessary, but they dropped one off on the doorstep anyway. Brand new in the box!!! The condo was very clean, the shower head was amazing, the bed was extremely comfortable and it's beachfront with central AC. Also, I think they have upgraded the kitchen since they took the pictures because the counters are a lot nicer. Great customer service, great amenities, beachfront with easy access to restaurants, shopping and the airport. To summarize it all? Perfect. We're already trying to figure out when we can go back. We spent two fabulous weeks in 311 at Sugar Beach in October, and it was absolutely heavenly! Never before have we stayed somewhere that had everything that we needed for day-to-day living, and so much more to make the time relaxing and stress-free. I don't know if I'm going to have enough room to write all that I would like to, but I will try! I can't say enough about the condo, the resort, the beach, and especially the owners, who treated us like gold! From the beginning, planning the reservation with Deborah was a delight, and she gave us so many good ideas and hints for our trip! The condo was super clean, beautiful with the new kitchen and bath remodels, and very tastefully decorated. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need if you enjoy cooking, there are BBQ implements for grilling near the pool, the washer/dryer allow you to pack a little lighter, and as a constant traveler, I can say that we slept in the most comfortable bed in the world for those two weeks. :) We also brought our two teenage boys for the first week, and even they loved it and never complained--and you know that says a lot!! Time slowed down for us for awhile, and it was all thanks to Deborah and Caron for creating a special home away from home!

Family's First Time to Maui

I currently live on the island and have been in contact with Deborah & Caron for renting their Sugar Beach condo for my mother and brother's first trip to Hawaii. And was I ever so grateful I did. Not only was it conveniently located in North Kihei (central to all their excursions to Lahaina, Kahului and Wailea), but it also had an amazing views of the beautiful pool and even the beach! Both my mother & brother have told me about how much they loved the brand new granite counter tops in the kitchen and listening to the waves on the beach as they took an afternoon nap or when they went off to bed. Caron & Deborah are also a delight to work with and book through. They even checked in with us periodically throughout the stay just to make sure everything was going well and to our liking. The next time they come to visit, they requested that I contact Deborah & Caron again to reserve their Sugar Beach condo. I highly recommend staying here for it's convenient location and to enrich the entire Maui experience!

I keep hearing about a few resident Sea Turtles that are right out front. Chad and I took his boat out about a mile off shore in front of Sugar Beach and the depth gauge never went above 50 feet. That water is shallow! I could hang off the boat with my snorkel and see the sandy bottom for miles. No wonder so many whales come there to birth their babies. I can't wait until whale season. Yay! (November-May)

Me and my girlfriend stayed here for 8 days and had an amazing time. The condo was very clean and very nice looking. It had everything we needed to cook with and my girlfriend love that it had a hair dryer. The grounds around the condo were also very well maintained. It was so cool to have an ocean front view from 2 sides of the condo. The beaches were great and there are plenty of great resteraunts around. We would definetly stay here again. Thank you to Deborah and Caron for such a nice place.

Sugar Beach Condo Resort

If you aren't staying here....you are missing out! This was my first trip to Maui. We had a gorgeous balcony view of the ocean and pool. This resort has a great shopping strip center. Includes an intimate bar and grill. It has a two onsite concierges to assist with daily activities. Just for the record, we did the helicopter ride. A MUST in Maui!!! I would like to mention we went up and down the coastline including the famous Wailea for shopping and fancy hotels. This condo has everything to offer including views that the high end hotels offer- less the cost. The condo was clean, light and airy- offers a King size bed and large screen T.V. in the bedroom. It also has a pull out couch for extra guest, includes all ammenities. Highly Recommended!!!! We will be back.

We went out on the Alii Nui for a Sunset Sail last night (it departs from Maalaea Harbor, just 5 minutes away from Sugar Beach). A fantastic boat and you got to step right into it...no rowing yourself out to sea or getting wet. ha! They even walk around serving cocktails. It was my dream boat.

My wife and I stayed at this Sugar Beach Condo for two weeks in 2012 and had a fantastic time! The condo is right next to what feels like miles of open beach. It was nice with a modern vibe. Comfy bed and sofa. We had so much fun chasing the crabs while taking our evening walks down the shore. Great memories. The condo itself had everything we needed and lots we didn't use. Full kitchen with all the cookware one could need. Two flat screen tvs we used rarely because the view kept us mesmorized most of the time. One noteworthy plus we found was the awesome breeze when we opened the windows no matter what time of day. Also, the pool was heated which sounds strange for Maui but was actually nice with the breeze. Not hot by any means, just comfortably warm. I heard someone say it was the only heated pool on the island. They also had a large hot tub. Parking was easy and covered, people were friendly and we will be back. This is my first review but this condo left us very happy we booked here and thought others should know! Thanks and see you again soon!!!

we loved #311 at Sugar Beach Resort!

The details in the online description were very accurate - the views, the sound of the surf and the super convenient location made our stay fabulous! While other beaches on Maui can be packed with kids and people, Sugar Beach, the actual beach, was very quiet - every day, all day; we could take long walks and hardly see a person and at night the stars were glorious as strolled along the sand... The central location - close to everything - meant we were only a few minutes from our favorite restaurants in Kihei and our favorite places in Lahaina while at the same time were in our little quiet oasis, far from the madding crowds of Kihei beaches or Lahaina beaches... The condo, being ON the beach, allowed us to walk barefoot from the condo straight out to the sand (and there are very convenient showers to rinse the sand off your feet before going back into the condo). There was plenty of cabinet space, dressers, closets etc, it's great to have the beach chairs, towels and cooler for a long session of "chilling" on the beach... The kitchen had plenty of pots and pans and, wine glasses :-) The condo was immaculate when we arrived and was very peaceful and quiet all of our three days and nights. There is plenty of free parking, and facilities in the resort for getting meals etc. The bed was comfy... what can I say? everything was perfect!! We were pleasantly surprised to find Scrabble and other games as we never felt like watching either of the big, flat screen tv''s... and there were some books includeing Maui guide books to help you find the great places to go to... We had a great time and would recommend this condo to family and friends!! We highly recommend Monsoon Indian restaurant, nearby, Isana Sushi restaurant for cozy dining, and the Mala Ocean Tavern in Lahaina - our favorite restaurant on Maui! aloha!!

unit #311 is a corner unit (very important!), perfect for 2 (though it can accommodate more) it is open, light, airy; fully equipped and comfortably appointed in Hawaiian style. it has a roomy lanai/veranda for reading, dining, etc; and a dreamy King bed, and air conditioning or ceiling fans, nice to have the choice. Views, Views, Views!! whether inside or out, the ocean and coastal views are breathtaking. twinkling night lights, soft dawn hues, magnificent sunsets and glistening diamond-sparkling ocean-we couldn't take our eyes away the entire week! and we live here on Maui! the resort property is quiet and beautifully maintained with pool, sauna and barbecues. we had a wonderful week of reading, long beach walks, quiet afternoons poolside. and if you want a little taste of local color, stop in for a cool drink, sandwiches, wraps or shrimp at the SandWitch. it's on property. we will be back. we highly recommend it. unit 311 is a real gem! aloha

Just got back from Sugar Beach and let me tell you its hard to get back to reality after a amazing vacation! We had the pleasure of spending 7 wonderful days in this unit an enjoyed every second of it! The views were amazing you had the option of looking out at the pool with the ocean in the background or were able to sit at the kitchen table and be ocean front. For me this was better than being Ocean front cause you had the best of both worlds. The unit has a brand new very comfortable bed and is fully stocked has a cooler, beach chairs, beach towels everything you need is there. Owners we very good at getting back to me about any questions I had and was even there when I checked in and came and said hello :) (I am jealous you live in Maui). They were also able to accommodate any special request I had it was appreciated thank you again. Now for the Resort it is Beautiful...... The beach is really like Sugar, the people are friendly and happy, the ground are clean and quiet. We enjoyed every morning sipping coffee, taking in the views from the porch and our evenings bbqing in the bbq area chatting and having some drinks with the other guests (I will say it again great atmosphere here, everyone is so friendly). The best part of the Condo was the Location it was close to all the best beaches in Maui (in my opinion) and close to a great selection of nightlife with dancing and live music. Thank you for having us we enjoyed our trip it was amazing!!!!! Ashley Sad to be home but we will be returning in the future :)
