My boss and I were in Boston for a Medical trade show and decided to rent a home rather than two hotel rooms. Although things started out a little shaky (parking spots were overbooked so we didn't have a parking spot directly behind the townhouse and had to park a couple blocks away), we quickly realized that the error was a blessing. Every walk to the car offered another opportunity to marvel at the amazing architecture of this beutiful neighborhood. Conveniently located a few blocks from Boylston street and a 10 minute walk to Fenway, there are ample opportunities to experience the best of the Back Bay of Boston. The garden apartment is bright and immaculate with a boat-load of character. The bedrooms are small, but filled to capacity with large, incredibly comfortable beds. A lack of storage space in the bedrooms might be a problem if we were staying longer, but there are plenty of empty closets and cabinets throughout the rest of the apartment that I'm certain would suffice. The living room is large with a very cool antique stove likely in its original location at the base of the chimney from when the home was built. The furniture is comfortable and like new. A flat screen televiosion with a ton of cable channels and high speed wireless internet provided everything we needed to relax after the show and get work done on our laptops. The spotless kitchen has a ton of counter space, a large refrigerator, an oven and dishwasher. The bathrooom is equipped with a large jetted tub and a steam shower equipped with a full featured body sprayer. A laundry room, shared by the whole house is just outside the door with a modern washer, dryer, iron and ironing board. My only concern as I write this review is that the apartment will be booked when I attempt to reserve it for next years show!

This was a very nice suite to stay in on our recent trip to Boston. The description of the suite is accurate and we knew the location of the apartment well in advance. The location is perfect for marathon weekend in Boston. I ran the marathon, and my husband as well as some family came to Boston to spectate. My husband and I stayed in this suite, while other members of the family rented a larger suite in the same building. We were all very happy with the accommodations. The management was very attentive and kept in good contact with us, both during our stay as well as beforehand. The neighbourhood this apartment is located in is excellent. The street is quiet, but it is only one to two blocks from the action on Newbury Street and Boylston. For a quieter outing and fantastic scenery, the Charles and the Esplanade is about 2 blocks in the opposite direction. Taking the T was very easy and I felt very safe in this neighbourhood. I have lived in Boston before, so I felt comfortable walking around and taking public transport, however, even if you are not familiar with the city, it can be quite easy to navigate. In regards to the marathon, it was a short walk to catch the buses to Hopkinton, and it is very close to the finish line, which was nice at the end of the race. It was very easy for my family to leave the apartment and go up to Hereford and spectate. This year the fitness expo was in a different location, but in other years when it is at the convention center, it will be very a very short walk from this apartment. The kitchen was well-stocked with utensils, pans, and dishes, and whatever we did not have on hand we were able to get from a storage closet that we had access to. The apartment was clean when I arrived and I felt everything provided was in good condition. This is an older building so noise from the hallway does carry through the walls, however, the people in this building are very quiet and noise was never a problem. One nice thing that was extremely helpful was that I was able to leave my bag in the building when I arrived early. This allowed me to explore downtown a bit without having to worry about dragging my bags along. I used paypal for the deposit return and it was in my account promptly.

Stayed at another unit at this address, from the same owner. It was a fantastic location where you could walk to lots of attractions, and go shopping. Newbury st was great. Stayed for close to a week. We would love to come back here. Boston was cold, but the apartment was nice and warm, with a small kitchen that was well stocked, so we stayed in at night and cooked. The door locks were keypads which was great so we didn't have to worry about losing the keys. Brent was quick to respond to emails. The Freedom Trail running tour was good, every Sat and Sunday morning.

We stayed in early November for the first time and we will never stay anywhere else in Boston. Everything was beautifully maintained and this is just a perfect location in Back Bay. The owners are extremely professional to deal with and do all business above board. Great Rental Unit! Beats even the most upscale hotel by leaps and bounds. We have fallen in love with the city and this unit. Wouldn't stay anywhere else.

We spent four nights in this rental and had a great time. We arrived a bit earlier than expected, and the housekeeper allowed us to put our bags in the apartment until it was time to check in. The pictures are very representative of the rental. The furnishing appeared new and well kept, and the entire place was very clean. The steam shower was definitely something that we loved! The kitchen had most everything you need to prepare a meal, but plan on bringing or buying spices that you need because they are not provided. Lastly, the bedroom was small, but there is a HUGE closet right outside the door that will hold all of your belonging. The laundry room next door was very helpful and convenient. It was a short walk to the T from this rental, and we were only a couple of blocks from great shopping and markets. We found a lot of great eats within blocks. Definitely will stay here again when returning to Boston!

The suite was spacious, well decorated and above all, completely and utterly spotless :) The area was fantastic and much less than a 10 min walk to the Hynes convention center and Newbury St. The suite is in a great residential area with lots of gorgeous townhouses and trees and it just felt like home right away. I was super sorry to leave it!! I love the deep soaker tub and separate shower with lots of shower heads!!! My friends had booked at a hotel and next time, are going with Brent :)

Spent 4 nights at this location (not in this apartment). Excellent location. Easy walk to the hub of Newbury and Boyston Streets for plenty of restaurants and shopping. Subway close by. The apartment we stayed in was smaller than this one, but loaded with old world charm. Clean, bright and quiet. The bathroom was a little tight. Brent was very helpful - always responding promptly to texts. Would highly recommend the apartment for short term stays.

We thoroughly enjoyed our one week stay in Back Bay. Marlborough Street is beautiful and the perfect location for dining, shopping and exploring. The apartment was a good size for a couple, and the kitchen facilities allowed us to enjoy several of our dinners at home. There was some noise from the surrounding apartments, but all was quiet by bedtime. Our host was professional and attentive to our needs, including the prompt mailing of something accidentally left behind.

This was a great rental. It is very close to tons of restaurants and bars and is in walking distance of the downtown area and a couple of public transportation stops. The property was clean and looked exactly as it did in the photos that were provided. There were two of us and it was the perfect size. I would definitely rent this apartment again.

The best thing about this apartment is its location. It is on a quite residential street, but only a few blocks from all the restaurants, shops, and night life of Newberry Street and Boylston Street. Only a few blocks the other direction is the Charles River with miles of scenic walking/jogging/cycling paths. The apartment was a little small for three, but certainly better than a hotel room. Everything inside was fine--even the sofa bed was comfortable (at least for a sofa bed). We had a few problems with the wireless internet our first day, but when we contacted Brent he told us where to find the router and we reset it. After that the internet worked fine. I only have one complaint--no ESPN on the cable package in the apartment! If I had to live a week without sports center, though, this was the place to do it.

Spent 3nights/4 days on Marlborough Street and you truly would be hard pressed to find a better location or price! Walkable to all the best ammenities - Newbury Street (day or night...always felt safe), Cheers, Copeland Square, Tader Joe's, Sam Adams, Farmers Market etc. We bought a Charlie Pass and made it all around Boston with ease. In fact, I would highly recommend leaving the car at home! Our unit was located right above the one shown here (same building/owner) and very beautifully furnished and certainly spacious enough for two. Don't hesitate...the price was right and the owner was very personable and professional in all regards. Might recommend placing a small dresser in the very large bedroom closet (just to hold some personal items), and adding a corkscrew to your utility drawer ;) , but overall.....5 stars! Thanks and we will definitely be back.

What a wonderful place to stay! Besides having tremendous support from the manager of the property, we had everything we needed. Location was perfect - 2 blocks from Charles River, 3 blocks from several restaurants and lots of great shopping...what more could you ask for! We enjoyed the Freedom Trail just a short distance away from our front door. The apartment was very clean and looked just like the photos in the listing. I would recommend this property to anyone visiting Boston.

VRBO was recommended by a friend and I was hesitant at first. Now, I would also recommend to everyone I know. My brownstone in Boston was clean, comfortable and easy to book. Being able to wake up in the morning, fix breakfast and coffee and hit the city (everything we wanted to see and do was within 15 blocks, even the grocery store) was wonderful and saved a lot of money. Being able to come back after a busy day and have snacks, tea a good rest and home cooked dinner, then back out again was the BEST- seriously, just like home! The cost and amenities of the brownstone compared to hotels in the area was an exceptional bargain. The owner was always a phone text away and very helpful with all our needs. Traveling alone, with friends or family, VRBO is the way to go.

The unit was extremely clean and well-maintained, fully furnished and had all the extras (even down to the laundry soap), and in a perfect central location--the best in Boston. While our rental was not the apartment described here, we were very happy with the apartment made available to us. Located on a beautiful street in the middle of Back Bay, it was central to virtually everywhere we wanted to go, as well as being a great place to crash at the end of a long day. The location was excellent and convenient to everything and everywhere by foot. The unit itself was beautiful and truly enjoyable during our stay. The description we received from the owner of this unit did not do it justice! The in-unit washer/dryer was an additional plus, as well as the available parking behind the unit. The owner was accommodating and quick to respond to any questions, concerns or requests we had both by text and email. We would certainly be interested in staying at this unit again, and have already recommended this unit to fellow parents visiting in the future. Thanks for making our stay in Boston wonderful!!

We stayed for 11 days in the smaller unit directly above this one but it had many of the same furnishings. Great living space and kitchen area with all the utensils you would need. The place was absolutely spotless when we arrived, which is more than can be said for the expensive hotel we had stayed in for the previous 3 nights! Everything said about Brent the owner is true. He responds very quickly to any questions and is incredibly helpful in general. You certainly won't be dissapointed with the location on a quiet tree lined street but yet walking distance to fantastic shopping and other attractions. I had to be honest and knock off a star for the bathroom which we found rather compact as I am not what you would call skinny! However, the shower area was fine and the place had been newly fitted out and tiled which made it very pleasant. You will pay so much less to stay in a place like this compared to the surrounding hotels, yet you have extra space and many more home comforts. Overall, I would certainly recommend the unit to friends or relatives interested in visiting Boston.

We stayed in a different unit from what's listed, but in the same building. It's a beautiful Back Bay brownstone in a great location, a 3 minute walk to Newbury St, Mass Ave, the T, and the footbridge to the Esplanade. The unit is spacious, comfortable, attractive, well kept, and functional. We made use of the well appointed kitchen and saved money and ate healthfully by preparing some of our own meals. Having a kitchen is important during an extended stay. We initially had trouble with the wireless connection, and the landlord was very fast with his response and the problem was resolved quickly (even though it was a weekend and a hurricane was blowing through!) I would definitely stay at this apartment again and I highly recommend it. It's a great unit, less expensive than a comparable hotel, and in an incredibly convenient location.
