After being given the run around by another property owner on this site in Minneapolis, we were very encouraged by the quick response and the great price. We arrived on Easter Sunday around 10pm and Scott was there to meet us. The loft was very clean, stocked with plenty of towels (which we managed to use all of... girls are bad about that!), had things that we could use like an ice chest, air mattress, laundry basket, kitchen appliances, etc. We were more than pleased with our stay. Scott was very informative and gave us a good tour of the place upon arrival. We were close to lots of things and were very thankful for free, safe parking. Our only complaint was the sleep number beds. They didn't seem to work very well and ended up being kind of uncomfortable. Though they weren't a selling point for us, we were silly and excited about finding out our sleep numbers! Unfortunately, only one bed had a screen to show the sleep number but the screen didn't work. The other bed had a controller that didn't seem to work very well at all. It would be much better to just have good, comfortable, regular ole' mattresses! We would definitely stay again- just with hopes of no sleep number beds! Or maybe we would just sleep on the lush futons!

Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing, adventure seekers.

Owner response: Thanks so much for staying with us! We are glad you enjoyed the space. We are a bit taken aback about the sleep number beds, because we have had them since we started offering this space two years ago, and have not had any complaints. We wish that you had called while there! We could have swapped beds, we have a standard mattress in the same building on the floor below! We can easily swap out the pumps for a new pump, we keep some in reserve and would have been happy to do so. Now that we know there is a problem, we will replace them. As we say in our booking confirmations, "treat us like the front desk of the hotel". We want to know about any maintenance issue immediately. Hope we can help you out on your next trip, we can direct you to one of our few standard mattresses! :-)

I stayed for three nights and was extremely pleased with all aspects of my experience. I had booked it before travelling from australia and after a long flight in getting here I was most thankful to meet Scott with the keys and a lot of insider information about Minneapolis and the surrounds. I found it easy to get around due to the close proximity to the bus line, and loved having my own kitchen (particularly to store my Ben & Jerry's, which I had been harboring years-long cravings for). I knew that anything I needed was at the end of a phone, and Scott and Jenna were so nice in making themselves available for anything (and for not making me feel stupid when I called to find out how to operate one of the kitchen appliances!). Overall, it was a wonderful stay and I would highly recommend it to anyone else. · By nmh1974 from Minneapolis, Minnesota on 10/6/2011 for a stay in 9/1/2011 Response: Thanks for your review Lisa. As one of the first guests who came to us from this site, you gave us a good impression of the site! Hey, we figured that appliance out together! It was new to us too! It was a pleasure getting to know you!

(Originally Submitted on Another Site) Great location, just minutes from downtown. The apartment is well furnished, and has everything you need. Owners are very helpful and only a phone call away. The building houses two other units, but we did not even hear them while we were there. The only negative comments I have are very minor and would not affect my 5 star rating. The negatives are the exterior of the building is a little run down, and there are a lot of stairs to go up to get to the loft. I will definitely look into renting this space again when I travel back to Minneapolis. Owner's Response: Thanks for staying with us Steven! We have been updating our over 100 year old building for quite a while. With the interior winding down, our focus can shift to the outside. Maybe next time you are in town you will get to see the exterior brought back to its original glory!

Fun, flexible, open loft space. We had a relaxing stay and appreciated the convenience of the kitchenette and living space. Third floor with operating windows let in cool September breeze. Just a few blocks away from playground equipment for children. Good price and no cleaning fee.

Recommended for: Tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

Owner response: Thanks for the review, David! We enjoyed having your family there and were happy to be able to accommodate at the last minute. (Truth in Advertising: we were running a special with no cleaning fee.) Hope we can host you at one of our places to stay in the future!

(Originally Submitted on Another Site) Beautiful decor including the thickest rug I've ever seen. Windows that open and on the top floor so felt very safe to sleep with the windows open. Nice kitchen and pots and pans. Stayed here while I was having some remodeling done at my place. Great value.

It was stocked with some goodies which was nice. It does have quite a few stairs to climb. Wide open space, but screens were provided to give added privacy :). We only had one complaint while staying there. The laundry was in the basement which was not bad at all. The renters in the place would leave their laundry in the machines for hours and hours. I ended up doing their laundry and my own. Not my favorite thing to do!!! We would love to rent from Scott and Jenna again!!! Owner Response: Thanks for your review! We appreciate the feedback and suggestion. We hope you found the parking space at the door and two flights of stairs were worth the treetop view! We are always asking for suggestions, and act on them. We have posted a notice on not leaving laundry in the shared space, and we are now providing laundry baskets for any lost and found laundry to be put in, so that you don't have to do the laundry that belongs to anyone else! We hope you can come back to Minnesota and have a true vacation sometime in one of our units!

                      Owner info

                      Year Purchased: 1999

About the owner: Scott and Jenna have owned this building since moving into it when purchased in the 1990s. We have enjoyed providing a beautiful and inspiring space to others for over ten years. Now it is all new with new furniture and appliances (just like Scott no longer has a beard, change happens!), and we hope you can enjoy it.

                      Why the Owner Chose Minneapolis:
This building is a triplex, and originally functioned as our primary home. Continual requests to rent in this area on a short term basis made us decide to convert this and other spaces to a vacation / short term rental.

The Unique Benefits at this Studio:
Location, location, location is key for the property. It is close to the University and Downtown and the famous Mississippi River and the falls that Father Hennepin surveyed in the 1800s. Although very convenient to activities, you will feel that you are in a University-oriented city neighborhood. Note this is not a resort or city high rise condominium! This building was built over 100 years ago!
