We chose Village View to celebrate a "big" birthday" with our children and grandson. I had a wanted a warm and spacious home where we could all spread out comfortably, but would also be encouraged to gather. This home met those desires perfectly. Each of the bedrooms was amply sized and comfortable and the many sitting areas just said, "please sit down and socialize.". So we did. The living room was the main attraction with its lovely fireplace, books, great coffee table for game playing and very comfy seating. The house was a wonderful combination of elegance and easy living. It felt sophisticated for the adults, yet friendly for the two year old. We were six adults and one toddler. Easy walking distance to the charms of Lenox. We walked to restaurants, took the two year old sledding in a local park and took a little outing to Pittsfield for lunch and retail browsing. Plenty to do. Carol was a lovely and hospitable hostess.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The house is a wonderful home away from home. It is spacious, spotless, extremely well-appointed. The kitchen refrigerator has an array of customary condiments. The bathrooms are replete with small necessaries Ceilings are high, the rooms are airy. it gives you a choice of three large and comfortable sitting rooms. Six of us -- college friends from the 1950s -- luxuriated in our surroundings. The place is a couple of blocks from everything you might want in Lenox proper. The street goes through the property of a church, which makes a fine stop if you are walking, before you climb the hill to the house. Coming down is easy and we walked a lot. The host lives next door: she never bothers you and she is virtually on-call if you have a need. Wonderful lady, great sense of humor.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

What a wonderful place to stay, great location...within walking distance to great coffee and pastry (don't feel bad you walked there:), a full playground, great restaurants and shopping. The lake is only a short, pretty drive as is Tanglewood...beautiful. The house is beautiful but very comfortable at the same time, has everything you need and more...Carol is very accommodating and eager to help. Hope to stay again next year!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Set in a pretty garden,"Village View" is a beautiful home that comfortably catered for our large family, with it's ample bedrooms and various living rooms- we never felt like we were on top of one other. It's wonderful location in quaint Lenox made it possioble for us to stroll into town for a coffee and a wander around interesting shops. Historic towns of Great Barrington and Stockbridge only a short drive away. Fantastic shopping at the Outlets in Lee, only ten mins. drive. Plenty of beautiful golf courses in the vicinity. Carol is a charming host!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The pictures do not do this house justice. This house is beautiful, functional and very comfortable. If you enjoy shopping, there is a selection of shops, galleries, liquor stores, food market and restaurants just down the hill. No need to drive, however the climb up the hill could be challenging for some people. We had a wonderful time at this house and would rent this house again as well as recommending it to friends or family.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

In the past or 5 families would rent out and entire B&B for our Labor Day weekend getaways but this year we decided to rent a house. It's tough finding a home that can accomodate this many people w/o everyone getting on each other's nerves, but this was the home. At any given point there were people in the living room, dining room, kitchen, both porches and the little sitting room. Each room decorated beautifully and comfortably. The location was perfect for our bike rides, walks into town, golf excursions, trips to Tanglewood and for just relaxing. We've been spoiled and you will be too!Did you find this review helpful? i have rented many houses and i can honestly say that "village view" rates at the top for many reasons. 4 ladies enjoyed 3 relaxing nights in this clean, lovely, warm, well maintained, well appointed home. you will not lack anything during your stay. you will feel "at home' as soon as you enter. we enjoyed EVERY room - each with a slightly different ambiance: one for breakfast, one for cocktails, another for just relaxing or reading the front porch is wonderful even in the rain !! Village view is close to town and all the points of interest in the area.i can assure you, you will agree this house is a find for a short term rental.Did you find this review helpful? Just spent an amazing weekend with 6 amazing girlfriends at Carol's beautiful home. The place had a lovely quaintness for a very large home. We moved our long conversations over lots of wine from room to room and even had a nice fire in the living room fireplace. Great location and an easy 5 minute walk to town makes this place a win-win for a getaway with friends or family! Thank you carol for sharing your wonderful home with us. I hope to return again at some point to the Berkshires and you will be my first choice to stay!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, adventure seekers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

I rented this house for a "girlfriends getaway" weekend to celebrate my 40th birthday. The house was extremely clean (a major concern for my group), warm and very welcoming. From the minute we stepped through the mud room entrance, we knew we made an excellent choice. It was nicely decorated and big enough for our group of eight to comfortably sleep, eat and play. Despite the neighbors being relatively close, the house offers plenty of privacy. Much to my surprise, the old house was something of a fortress. None of the "music" from our psuedo karaoke club spilled out into the night to disturb the neighbors. There is a full bath and pull-out couch in the den, so anybody who might have difficulty climbing stairs needn't worry. Also, preparing meals in the well stocked kitchen was a breeze. The kitchen was large enough to acommodate all eight of us at once! The owner, Carol, was a dream to deal with. She was very prompt in responding to my inquiries and had a wealth of information about things to do in the area. She helped our group locate a spa and winery, which were both very well received. You cannot go wrong renting this property. Carol really knows the meaning of hospitality and customer service. I hope to utilize her lovely home again in the future.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing, people with disabilities, families with young children.
