Encinitas house description
The 2-bedroom unit is located WEST of highway 101 and less than a 2 minute walk to the local beach. Park your car and walk to the beach, shops and restaurants that Leucadia has to offer. Leucadia is considered one of the last real beach towns here in north county San Diego. It is a family-oriented, safe and fun beach area with lots of mom and pop shops to explore.
The house itself has newly updated bamboo floors on the ground level. A large flat screen TV and a stereo are available in the living room. The living room has a fold-out queen couch that sleeps two. the dining area is complete with table and lazy Susan. Step out the back and you have your own fenced in area outside to enjoy. The kitchen comes with all amenities including drinking water, full size fridge, dishwasher , gas stove and a pantry.
Upstairs are two large bedrooms both with queen beds. The first bathroom comes complete with a jacuzzi tub and the master bathroom has a custom tile shower.
Walking around Leucadia: There is plenty of parking at the property and you receive TWO parking spots for the 2-bedroom unit. 2 large king palms welcome you in to the area. There is a small yard with circular tile bench to enjoy your food up front.
Within less than a minute walk are some quick-eat restaurants including Kotija's Mexican, Sub Palace and Pandora's Pizza. Walk up Leucadia Blvd. about 500 ft. and you're at Beacon's Beach, one of the few beaches left with a walking trail going down. Beach entrance is right at the top so no need to walk blocks to enjoy the beach, it's very close by. The trail is very walking-friendly, no major rocks or anything to climb over, just a switchback that gently heads down to the beach.
Up and down the 101 are some terrific restaurants including Le Papagayo (Cuban food with entertainment most nights), El Especial (authentic Mexican food) and Leucadia Sushi Bar, all within 2 blocks. There's also Pannikin coffee house a quick 4 blocks away which is formerly the old Santa Fe train depot about 100 years ago. Cafe Ipe and The Lofty Bean also offer premium and organic coffees.
If you have small kids, Moonlight Beach is 1 mile south complete with playground.
Other things to do: Downtown Encinitas is also great to explore with its unique restaurants, but if you're looking for exploring outside the city, try Carlsbad and Oceanside. Legoland is a mere 10 minute drive and the Oceanside harbor is great for watching seals and enjoying boating and local fish and chips.
The train station is very close, only 1 mile away with the coaster making stops in Solana Beach and downtown San Diego. Downtown is the home of the Padres, our local baseball team, and Petco park is an amazing place to watch a game. Close to downtown is Balboa Park with a wide assortment of museums and the famous San Diego zoo. Sea Works is also close by downtown located in Mission Beach, about 20 minutes south of Encinitas.
Encinitas overall: Encinitas is a fun place to visit (and live) and the locals here are proud to call this city their home. It is a safe area that caters to families and people of all ages, not just young people. We hope you enjoy Encinitas as much as we do and we look forward tom seeing you soon!

I loved everything about my VRBO rental in Encinitas. The house was spacious, clean, well stocked and close to my favorite beach "Beacons". The owners were incredible. Hospitable, friendly and accommodating. Good location, close to everything. Tim and Kerri are the best!

The Perfect Get Away
The Perfect Get Away
My husband and I stayed 2 weeks. We loved the location, it is on quiet street yet it is close to the beach and the freeways for easy access to other tourist sites. Two of our children and their families now live in CA, one near LA the other in San Diego. They all came over on the week-ends and there was plenty of room for them to stay. I like the fact the apartment is very nice, yet not too fancy so we didn't have to worry about breakage with young grandchildren. On a fun note, we found a karaoke machine upstairs that bought a lot of fun & laughter for all. Tim and Kerri were wonderful and I have recommended it to our friends as a wonderful place to stay, and it's only 2 hours from LA and less then an hour to Temecula wine country!

Owner response: It was great having you out (again!) Glad to hear you liked the house. It's awesome to have fun guests like you out here who really enjoy the area. We'll hopefully see you out here next year!
We had a wonderful stay, Kerri and Tim were wonderful hosts and nothing was too much trouble for them. The house was as described and met our needs perfectly, in fact we were reluctantly to leave and were fortunate to be able to stay an extra two days. We would certainly recommend staying at this accommodation and we would love to make the same trip next year. The beach, restaurants and coffee shops were close by and the mall was a short car drive away. I have already recommended this property to my co workers. Thank you Tim and Kerri for a wonderful trip.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location is ideal for easy access to major attractions around San Diego. Our daughters took advantage of the one block walk to the beach to spend a lot of time playing the ocean -- they particularly had a blast with the boogie boards provided. Tim and Kerri were very accommodating hosts. The house itself is very comfortable and offers all the necessary amenities. If our vacation plans take out us to the San Diego area again the in the future, we would definitely stay here again. A big thanks to Tim and Kerri.

We are from Holland and stayed in this wonderful house for 3 months with our 2,5 year old son and we had a great time. The house is spacious (also for much more people than the three of us), very comfortable, clean, and the front garden is great to have too. It really felt like a home. The owners live next door and they are very friendly and helped us out quite some times which was more than wonderful. Their daughter could even babysit so we could go to the movies (do try luxury cinema Cinépolis, that's great!) and have a very special diner with ocean view in Del Mar. The house is perfectly situated. It's not even a five minute walk to the very beautiful beach; great for surfing, running, playing, reading. And there are also some very nice coffeeplaces in short walking distance. We would surely recommend the great coffee (and cakes!) at Pannikin and at Coffee Ipe (they have music in the weekends too). There are several nice places for eating out. We loved Pizza Pandora and also restaurant Le Papagayo, they also have music. And great food and cocktails too. We would definitely recommend this house to friends, it is the perfect place for holidays and also for a longer stay like we did during some months sabbatical leave. Enjoy!

Encinitas 2 bedroom Hideaway
Encinitas 2 bedroom Hideaway
My wife and I were so very pleased with our 2 bedroom rental in Encinitas for Christmas week. The accommadations were spacious, attractive, modern, beautifully maintained, and scrupulously clean in preparation for our one week stay in San Diego. We decided to rent this house in lieu of staying in a hotel, since our daughter and son-in-law flew in from New Jersey to join us for a family week together. It was less expensive than a hotel for a week long stay, and we wanted privacy, to do some of our own cooking, and to gain convenient access to the beach, I-5, I-78 and Encinitas, Leucadia, and Carlsbad. The parking area is generous. The kitchen is large enough to cook for a large group, and comes completely equipped. There is a very large living room with a giant flat screened TV hooked up to cable (and connected to the TV in the master bedroom. TV, too) Both bedrooms are large. The bed and mattress in the master is new and comfortable. There are two bathrooms, and one had a newly tiled triple large shower stall with plenty of hot water and water pressure. The second bathroom has a whirlpool/jacuzzi and shower. It had all the comforts of a home away from home. I might add that the landlords were gracious, helpful, and even gave my son-in-law a thereputic massage(holistic health is their second business) I might add that the home is in a quiet and private shaded location, but a short drive from the Leucadia Avenue on-ramps from both north and south to the I-5 (with a gas station located at the top of the on-ramp to I-5 south) which made it a breeze to enjoy a drive anywhere in San Diego. While there we drove south to downtown San Diego, La Jolla, Escondido, and they were all a very easy drive. We most highly recommend this rental for a perfect Pacific Coast Highway getaway.!!!

Owner response: It was a pleasure having Geoff and his family out. They were all super-nice people and we really enjoyed talking with them. It's always nice to know that people enjoy this property and the amenities. We love the area ourselves; it's actually hard going to work in the mornings because I don't like to leave Encinitas. Thank you for your wonderful review, it was a pleasure to have you at our home. Tim & Kerri
We were in town for a soccer tournament and stayed here over the team hotel. The house was perfect, walking to ocean and restaurants, even hosted the half the team for Thanksgiving dinner. We love the area and hope to be back soon

About the owner: We are a family of three that also live on premise. Kerri is a massage therapist and esthetician (yes she can work on you while here), and Tim teaches both high school and college. Kaylee (our daughter), is a wonderful, and responsible teenage girl who has taken several babysitting certification classes and is available should you need a night out by yourselves.
Why the Owner Chose Encinitas:
Location, location, location. We love never having to really drive far at all, on the weekends the cars sometimes barely move. Great local people, lots to do and in a down-to-earth area.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Secluded yet a 3 minute walk to beach. Leucadia is the last of the original beaches that has not been over-commercialized with five plus story buildings. Nothing beats parking the car and hanging up the keys and just walking around the town.
