Bryson City house description
Our High Valley House is a wonderful place that has been our family home for the last 7 years. Love at first site is what made us buy it and will make you glad that you are here. Sit in the porch swing or hammock and take in the miles-long view, or enjoy it through the huge windows that surround the house. Better yet, join up around the fire-pit or soak in the hot tub. Easy access to a 4-lane Highway, but very secluded. Close to the NOC, whitewater, Tsali mountain biking, Appalachian Trail, Lake Fontana, Tail of the Dragon for motorcycles, Smoky Mountain National Park, and the Cherokee Casino.
The house layout works great for separating the guests. The master bedroom is on the main level with a Queen bed and the jetted tub with windows to the world. Downstairs, there is the King bedroom, the Double bedroom, and a Kids room with a dual twin bed trundle. There is also a separate bathroom and laundry downstairs. Outside exits from both ends of the downstairs give you easy access to the yard and hot tub. You relax upstairs and put the kids and in-laws downstairs, or switch. Everyone can re-group on the main level with the open kitchen that is great for visiting and enjoying the views out the over-size windows.
If you are in the area to ride your motorcycle on the amazing mountain roads, this house will make a great central base for exploring. There is a huge covered area under the front deck that you can ride into and out of. There is only a short stretch of level gravel road coming into the neighborhood, otherwise all pavement access including the driveway.
Cyclists will appreciate the covered bike wash area to work on and leave their bikes
Fisherman will enjoy the easy access to the Nantahala and Little Tennessee Rivers and Lake Fontana.
There are great quiet walks right from the house and folks with a little adventure can even hike all the way down to the Nature Conservancy tracts of the Needmore Tract on the Little Tennessee River.
All this, yet the house is very easy to access and is only 15 minutes from Bryson City.

Our second year at the High Valley House
Our second year at the High Valley House
For the past several years some of my motorcycle riding friends and I (all in our 50's and 60's) have met in the area to ride the great winding roads in NC and TN. Last year we decided to rent a house in Bryson City, as it's centrally located for us, and we found the High Valley House through VRBO. It's great for 5 adults, as there are 4 bedrooms and a loft. Every day we made a good breakfast in the well appointed kitchen and every evening we either grilled on the porch or made dinner in the kitchen. We always enjoyed sitting around the kitchen table and talking about that day's ride our planning for the next day. One of the guys in our group soaked in the hot tub every night. We kept our motorcycles dry under the porch and there was plenty of room to part 4 pickup trucks and 2 trailers at the house. We plan on staying returning to the High Valley House again next summer.

Owner response: Bruce, it was great to have you guys back again and we look forward to seeing you next year!
We had 2 families with a total of eight people and enough room for everyone. Three of the four kids slept in the loft on the couches and the futon. The TV in the loft is a great thing. While the kids watched TV the adults could sit down in the living room and carry on a conversation. The front porch swing was my favorite in the morning with a cup of coffee watching the clouds cover the mountains. We would stay here again in a minute.

Polar Express Weekend
Polar Express Weekend
Our family had a most enjoyable stay at High Valley House while we were in Bryson City for the Polar Express with the grandchildren. The layout of the home is great for families with children. Lots of room to spread out and it was great NOT having the TV in the main room. We had lots of time to catch up and share time together, play cards and dominoes at the table with snacks on the bar. The weather was great, allowing us time to enjoy the porch and hot tub! The campfire under the stars was an added plus. Great towels and comfortable beds. The only recommendation I can make is please provide more eating utensils - we had to share forks! Thank you for providing such a beautiful place to share with your guests. We hope we can come again in the near future. Recommend High Valley Home with confidence. Thank you again.

This home was perfect for our Thanksgiving family gathering. The views are amazing! The home is spacious and warm! We had three families meet from Florida, DC, & MN. It was the perfect home to relax and catch up with one another.

The most relaxing week ever!
The most relaxing week ever!
This cabin is a great combonation of "out of the way" and "close to everything." Even though it's up on a mountain it is easier to get to and from than other cabins that we have rented in the area before. The way that the owners have the place set up worked for us perfectly and we will be back.

This place has an amazing view. It was a little shocking the first time up the driveway but don't worry, once you get used to the slope it isn't a problem. It was clean, well stocked with supplies, and very comfortable both inside and out. You will enjoy it.

Relaxing and Awesome
Relaxing and Awesome
We had a wonderful time at High Valley House July 4 week. It's a great house with everything you need provided, The Crawfords thought of everything and are so easy to work with. Close to grocery store and area attractions. The view from the front porch is absolutely awesome. It's close enough to everything you need, yet secluded and quiet. It was fun to kick back and relax for a change. No yard work and office pressure. We cooked and ate...a lot! Our two welsh corgis, Austin and Boomer, loved to go unleashed! What a time they had. Austin was especially excited to find a tennis ball someone left. We hopefully can return again.
