Laughing Loon, our wonderful family compound is located in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire and is available for rental for the first time in 50 years. The compound consists of a newly built 3000 square foot 5BR/2.5BA Main House, a separate 3BR/2BA Deck Built house, 2 additional sleeping cottages with 5 bedrooms and a 150 year old boathouse with a separate bedroom, bathroom and a family sized sleeping loft. All of this is located lakeside on an exceptional 6 acre property featuring 450 feet of shore frontage on Lake Winnepesaukee. Within easy walking distance of charming downtown Wolfeboro. Laughing Loon is ideal for a multi-generational family re-union (room to sleep up to 34 people) or weddings (up to 100 guests). The south facing main house, has a gourmet kitchen, open concept living and dining room with beautiful stone fireplace, large sun room and numerous decks for entertainment or to escape for quiet conversation.
A private sandy beach suitable for swimming or sunbathing is located next to the sand volleyball court. A floating raft is an easy swim offshore. For toddlers and non swimmers, there is a private wading lagoon next to the beach. The dock and boathouse providing covered protection for up to a 22 foot boat is located on the opposite side of the property.

We stayed there in late September 2011 as part of a wedding function. The house, setting, everything was perfect. We all had a swim in the warmish lake and had a go on the canoe. The house is big enough to cater for 32 people and we had plenty of space so we could have a few moments to our selves to enjoy the peace and quiet of the beautiful area. I will say not one complaint from anyone and from all the people and kids that were there was in itself an amazing task. We didn't want to leave the place. The house has all the tools you could ever ask for large fridge washing machine a BBQ. The weather was awesome. I would thoroughly recommend this house for friends families and wedding functions. You certainly will not get bored of this peaceful lake house setting. We even saw the woodpeckers and heard them on the other days. Bring your fishing rods aswell. The wedding was lovely and my friends the wedding couple D & D will also back me up in the above. Thanks to them they choose this beautiful lake house and the wedding couldn't have been better or any more fun than it was. There are plenty of shops in town even a great butchers shop. Thanks to the owners for letting their house out and letting us stay there. It's one holiday we will never ever forget. We still look at our pictures and wish we were back there.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
