Lava has been flowing constantly since 1983 and can be viewed right inside the park as well as 25 miles further down into the park. Watching the lava pouring into the sea and creating new land is an incredible sight ~ and at night it's even more spectacular...it's really breathtaking!
The Aloha Junction is located right in Volcano Village close to several convenience stores and restaurants. The Park entrance is a mere 1 mile away, make this location ideal for excited but tired volcano watchers.
This private, but conveniently located B&B offers 4 super-sized suites to choose from; all rooms having private entrances, locking doors, private bathrooms. Your rate includes a full and deliciously prepared breakfast. You will also enjoy FREEE wireless internet connection throughout the house, or use the computer room if you like. Plus there is so much freedom to browse throughout the house and property.
As another convenience, we also loan out flashlights, raincoats, coolers, even walking sticks to help equip you get out and see the lava at night.
There are several excellent restaurants in the village, an oven-fired pizza parlor right at the end of our road. Every Sunday you'll want to get up extra early to visit a very exciting Farmer's Market packed with exotic foods and treasures to consider taking home.
The Atkasuka Orchid Gardens is just 1 mile back towards Hilo, as is the extraordinary 2400 Fahrenheit Glass Blowing business.
Volcano has the unusual distinction of having America's most southernmost winery near our village, about two miles up past the Volcano Golf and Country Club.
You can count on the National Park for up-to-date information on volcanic activity, guided tours, and miles and miles of hiking trails.
Most of our guests recommend at least 2-3 days to do see all that the National Park and surrounding area has to offer.

Bed N' Breakfast ~ Volcano Village ~ 1 Mile to National Park!
Year Purchased: 1976
Why the Owner Chose Volcano
This historic house along the 'Volcano Corridor' on the Big Island of Hawaii has an interesting background. We had just signed a rental agreement and moved into the house in October of 1975. The next month, the day after THanksgiving to be precise, a double-whammy of an earthquake rocked the island. Many houses were knocked off their foundations, some completely destroyed. For our house, the tall brick chimeny fell through the roof into our living room and then through the floor. THe owner was not interested in fixing it up and wanted to sell it. We were not in a position to buy the house, but with FEMA relief and selling our Volkswavgon bus, were able to make a down payment.
It has gone through many changes and renovations since having raised 4 boys there. After they left and armed with a new marriage, my new husband and I started rebuilding the house with loving care and patience into what it is today.
The Unique Benefits at this House/Bed & Breakfast
The ALoha Junction B&B is located just outside the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Guests from around the world enjoy choosing from four very large suites; all with private bathrooms and locking doors. Three of the rooms have small kitchenettes and decks that lead out to over an acre of beautiful landscaped Volcano trees and foliage.
Robert is on hand to greet and orient each guest. He will also cook a hot meal every morning. If you have a preference, just let him know! Guests also enjoy walking around the premises to check out the hen house, our 4 pet geese, the rock wall lined with cymbidium orchids. Because we're hidden behind the post office in the heart of Volcano, with electronic gate and fenced borders, our B&B is quiet and peaceful, yet conveniently located near restaurants and small shops.
In addition, there is WIFI running throughout the house, as well as free access to a computer and printer ~ so handy when getting those boarding passes ahead of time!
Home of the legendary Madame Pele, goddess of fire. Kilauea volcano has been actively pouring out lava from it's vents for more than 25 years.

ALoha! Warm welcomes to the ALoha Junction B&B.
My husband and I started our bed and breakfast over 9 years ago after the kids all moved out and went on their merry ways. I teach full time at a nearby public school, while Robert is in charge of the daily operations of running the B&B.
Running the bed and breakfast has been somewhat challenging but also very rewarding. We especially enjoy meeting visitors from around the world who are very grateful for the services we provide.
