A Zen-Like Getaway! Just Minutes to Ashland! Beautifully Appointed!
- Minimum stay:2 nights
- Internet:No
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:No
*We added a larger deck & balcony, water filtration system, & a luxurious antique soaking tub*
This home is very unique, has countryside appeal, yet close to all! It is centrally located; just minutes to Ashland, the Shakespeare Festival, & Lithia Park. Historic Jacksonville, several wineries, & Medford are a short hop away. It is also close to serveral mountain bike trails.
You are within driving distance to Crater Lake, Rogue River rafting, Applegate River activities, horseback riding & several lakes. With all the characteristics and charm of this home, it is the perfect place to re-group after a day of theater, sightseeing, or doing any of the other many activities in the area. You can lounge on the deck listening to the birds, or watch the butterflies go by. Enjoying morning coffee or an afternoon beverage is a real delight on the sun drenched deck. Equally relaxing is throwing a blanket on the lawn for a picnic or a nap.
This property has been in my family since the 1940's! My uncle chose this spot to hand build this home in the 1970's. The logs you see in the home were cut from the trees on this property. The antique windows are from a church and a fruit packing plant that are no longer in existence. The antique doors, flooring, and other architectural details were also refurbished from buildings long since gone. Many of the stained glass windows were hand made by my uncle.
Not only does this home offer a central location, it is a very beautiful & unique place to stay. It truly offers the best of both worlds.
We love spending time here! We hope you find it as peaceful & enjoyable as we do.

We really loved this little cabin in Talent, OR. Wonderfully secluded and private, but an easy drive into Ashland. Filled with light, views of the trees, and all the amenities you need to have a restful break from city life. The owners are lovely to work with-- everything was just as promised.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

What a beautiful slice of heaven! The cabin is just as pictured on vrbo, but the photos just don't convey the serenity & sweet ambiance that fills this wonderful home! Everything was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen is stocked with what we needed to make meals "at home", which made for a nice, relaxing part of our stay. Mistee was right, the front lawn is a wonderful place for an afternoon rest. As a matter of fact, I took a nap in the comfy chaise lounge. Mistee is very easy to work with and her suggestion to do the Zipline in Gold Hill was super fun! This cabin feels like you are miles away from the hustle & bustle, but in fact, it is quite close to Medford, or Ashland. The notebook is very helpful with the antique features of the home, and has good suggestions for restaurants and cafes. I would absolutely recommend this home to anyone who would like a comfy, peaceful, easy place to stay.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

This structure is rich in character; well built, and smartly finished. No doubt many stories could be told by the builder and their family. Staying for a long weekend here felt like being warmly welcomed into this family's treasured hideaway. We were comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed our time here. We would love to come back someday.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at this vacation home! It really felt like a home! We loved the cabin flavor, the windows that let in such good light, the roominess inside and the outside decks and space as well. The main floor bedroom and the loft bedroom were both cozy and comfortable. The kitchen was spacious and open to the living room which was great. We found everything we needed to be able to make great home-cooked meals. The property was exactly as pictured in the listing photos. We felt that everything we needed had been provided. It was beautiful, peaceful, warm and comfortable. It was an easy drive to Ashland and yet the location made it feel like we were much further away from the city. We very much appreciated the notebook provided by the owners with information about the property as well as local restaurants and attractions. The owners were beyond helpful...they were really wonderful to work with. We would recommend this property to our family and friends and we're all hoping that we can go back some time soon!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

This place is great and Mistee is awesome to work with! The location is very convenient (just minutes from Talent and 7 mi to Ashland), yet it feels incredibly secluded and private. Very thoughtful house w/beautiful details. Comfy beds, great light, charming loft and an easy to use kitchen w/ basic utensils supplied. Can't wait to come back!Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2010
About the owner: I spent most of my childhood summers here at this property. Now my husband & son are loving it here as much as I do. My husband & I are passionate about nature and being outdoors. We return here often to unwind & yearn to come back to the natural surroundings & peacefulness of this property. We manage the home & property with an emphasis on maintaining a healthy environment for our guest, as well as keeping the natural aspects untouched.
Why the Owner Chose Ashland:
This property has been in my family since the 1940's! Two generations of family have been living in this area, and now I'm the third generation. This home is a very special part of me.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
This home offers serenity, yet it is close to all. It feels far from city life, but it is only minutes away. Down the hill is the town of Talent. It has yummy bakeries, cafes (some with live music and WiFi access), a grocery store, two live theaters, four wineries and several restaurants. A few short minutes away is wonderful Ashland. We love just relaxing on the deck & breathing in clean, fresh air. It is hard to leave this beautiful spot.
