What a wonderful experience!!! This is a fantastic Home Away nestled near Greenhorn Summit. The retreat is nicely appointed with very nice furnishings. The hot tub was steamy and hot! With trails nearby for the adventurous, this little oasis makes a perfect getaway. We will easily return for more memory making and stress relieving. Thank You.Did you find this review helpful? Wanted to have a mountain weekend getaway and this place delivered. Owners were on the ball with all email and instructions. I've rented many vrbo homes in the past and this was the best experience of the bunch. Everything stated is accurate. Would return in a heart beat.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

What an amazing find. We were welcomed into the new year in complete style in this new cabin in winter wonderland. 2 feet of fresh snow on the deck, plenty of firewood, and oodles of relaxation. My wife and two boys (who each had a friend come too) had an amazing time and feel fortunate to have found this great retreat. Amenities are all brand new complete with a kitchen full of appliances and tools needed to prepare a high quality meal. Kids loved the pool table and sleeping quarters upstairs. Jacuzzi was an obvious hit too. We will definitely return to this place that feels just like home. Mom and dad enjoyed the fire coupled with the amazing sound system. Very relaxingOwner response: Thank you for the wonderful review. The folks that wrote this review were terrific guests. With 2 feet of snow, they were flexible and had the right attitude (and 4 wheel drive)to enjoy the delights of the winter wonderland.

This home was beautiful. It had very nice furnishings, all the amenities we could ask for and was an extremely relaxing winter get away. The hot tub on the deck, pool table, large kitchen island, and fire place were all great. The snow was beautiful and we never wanted to leave. Nice, spacious place although would have been nice to have had two separate bedrooms rather than bunks in an open space. Pool table a big hit with our teenage kids. A little way from the Lake -which is not picture perfect in any case. Trip to Trail of 100 Giants well worth it. TV controls beyond us! But well equipped kitchen etcRecommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: The entertainment system is a bit complex with DVR, Blue Ray,VCR, satellite TV and music, indoor and outdoor speakers, ipad hookups, and several remote controls. We were responsive in trying to help over the phone and our guests were quite patient with the learning curve. We will look at improving our instructions to make it easier on our guests.

Why the Owner Chose Kernville:
We took an alternate route home from dropping our son off at Jameson Ranch Camp in Glennville, CA. Looking at the map, we wanted to explore this lake, Lake Isabella. We had never heard of it. Imagine our surprise as we came over Greenhorn Summit on our way down to the lake when we saw For Sale signs. How could private property be available in the heart of the Sierra National Forest? After much research and looking nationwide for a vacation home, we decided that this was the place. Beautiful and relaxing yet unending opportunities for recreation and leisure activities. Whitewater Rafting, Lake Isabella boating, fishing, jetskiing, windsurfing as well as Off road trails, hiking, ATV exploring, snow mobiling, cross country skiing, downhill skiing, sledding, hiking, and even a public golf course about 9 miles in Kernville.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
Whitewater rafting, mountain biking, hiking, geocaching, skiing, snowshoeing, RELAXing and drinking a martini or going to the Greenhorn Grill and saying hi to owner Mike
