What a wonderful experience!!! This is a fantastic Home Away nestled near Greenhorn Summit. The retreat is nicely appointed with very nice furnishings. The hot tub was steamy and hot! With trails nearby for the adventurous, this little oasis makes a perfect getaway. We will easily return for more memory making and stress relieving. Thank You.

My husband and I absolutely loved it. Nice relaxing environment, perfect escape from the hectic lives that we all lead. I recommend to anyone looking for something more than a local hotel. We will definitely rent again.

Wanted to have a mountain weekend getaway and this place delivered. Owners were on the ball with all email and instructions. I've rented many vrbo homes in the past and this was the best experience of the bunch. Everything stated is accurate. Would return in a heart beat.

What an amazing find. We were welcomed into the new year in complete style in this new cabin in winter wonderland. 2 feet of fresh snow on the deck, plenty of firewood, and oodles of relaxation. My wife and two boys (who each had a friend come too) had an amazing time and feel fortunate to have found this great retreat. Amenities are all brand new complete with a kitchen full of appliances and tools needed to prepare a high quality meal. Kids loved the pool table and sleeping quarters upstairs. Jacuzzi was an obvious hit too. We will definitely return to this place that feels just like home. Mom and dad enjoyed the fire coupled with the amazing sound system. Very relaxing

Owner response: Thank you for the wonderful review. The folks that wrote this review were terrific guests. With 2 feet of snow, they were flexible and had the right attitude (and 4 wheel drive)to enjoy the delights of the winter wonderland.

This home was beautiful. It had very nice furnishings, all the amenities we could ask for and was an extremely relaxing winter get away. The hot tub on the deck, pool table, large kitchen island, and fire place were all great. The snow was beautiful and we never wanted to leave. Thank you!

The cabin was extremely beautiful. It has all the amenities you can possibly ask for, including a full kitchen with an island, a nice wooden dining table, and a very spacious patio. The pool table on the second floor was a plus. Definitely would come back again.

Nice, spacious place although would have been nice to have had two separate bedrooms rather than bunks in an open space. Pool table a big hit with our teenage kids. A little way from the Lake -which is not picture perfect in any case. Trip to Trail of 100 Giants well worth it. TV controls beyond us! But well equipped kitchen etc

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway.

Owner response: The entertainment system is a bit complex with DVR, Blue Ray,VCR, satellite TV and music, indoor and outdoor speakers, ipad hookups, and several remote controls. We were responsive in trying to help over the phone and our guests were quite patient with the learning curve. We will look at improving our instructions to make it easier on our guests.

Our family just recently rented this beautiful home near the Sequoia National Forest. The home was even more beautiful then the pictures that were shown. The home is close to lots of sites and hiking trails. We all had a wonderful time and were able to relax in the hot tub after a long hike. We would also spend our evenings shooting pool upstairs in the loft. Great home and great location up in the mountains. We would definitely like to rent this home again on our next trip to this area.

The house is perfect! It has everything you need, the pictures don't do the house justice. It has two sitting areas and it has a big patio space to BBQ, although it only has one bedroom it's ok because of the loft space upstairs 2 bunk beds. It doesn't feel small at all, you can tell the homeowners take pride in there home it kept really nice.

The pictures dont capture how fresh and new this place looks. This place is amazing and theres so much room for everyone to stay. My wife and I went for a romantic getaway with another couple and had so much fun. This place offers so much to do from bike riding, to shooting pool. The spa on the deck was very nice to look at the stars while enjoying a nice beverage. Also note driving down the road about 3/4 mile to Green Horn Grill was also amazing. Great food and service and being close to the cabin was nice. Also the cabin has everything you need, everything. This winter were going to rent it again and take our kids to enjoy.Again Thank You Cindi.

We stayed here and really enjoyed ourselves. It was my husband and twin 10 year old boys and the place was perfect. There were great hikes very close by and the nice cool temperature in the summer was perfect. The kitchen was perfect for cooking and still spending time with the family. We loved the access to Kern, Lake Isabella, and the Trail of a 100 giants. We utilized the board games, and the step by step instructions for the T.V. were very helpful. It was like a little oasis and we never saw any of the neighbors. It was very quiet and peaceful. I definitely recommend this for families and couples.

First of all, the photos don't do this place justice -- it's really nicer than that. Two comfortable seating areas, nice dining area, fully-equipped kitchen, nice bedroom, big loft/playroom with bunkbeds and a pool table. Great west-facing deck with a giant redwood growing through it. Right on the edge of (like, 10 feet from) Sequoia National Forest. Random thoughts: * The kitchen really is fully equipped, as if real people lived there; it's not like those so-called equipped kitchens that don't have a grater or a mixing bowl or tupperware. The knives are a bit dull, and there's no dish drainer (b/c it has a dishwasher), but other than that, it's about like my own kitchen. * That said, if you're going to cook and might need to take home leftovers, bring some zip-lock bags or your own tupperware. (I guess that's more of a note to self...) * Amazing sound system on the stereo. We plugged in an iPod and had a veritable symphony going on. (There's a large-screen tv, plus DVD/Blue Ray, but we didn't use them.) * Lots of firewood -- no need to bring. But do bring some newspaper for starting. * The hot tub didn't work, and the owners called the repair dude the moment we told them. He was there in half an hour, I think. He worked for a couple of hours, and in the end couldn't repair it while we were there, but the owners were very responsive. I don't doubt that it will be working for the next person. * The wifi was present, and pretty good sometimes but sometimes next to nonexistent. If you have to be COMPLETELY hooked in, this isn't perfect for you. * Phone coverage is spotty to none, as you might expect out in the middle of nature. * It was REALLY hard to find in the dark -- save yourself trouble and arrive during the day!

Owner response: Thank you for your perspective on the great value of our cabin. The jacuzzi brand spa was fixed immediately upon receipt of parts. It is working better than ever.

We recently stayed at this property & had a wonderful time. It was clean, comfortable & had all the things we needed to make our stay relaxing & enjoyable. Beautiful surroundings in & out. Definetely a place to relax & enjoy nature. We looked forward to returning each evening after long days fishing at Lake Isabella & on the Kern River. This is a lovely mountain retreat any time of year. It snowed our first night which was a pleasant surprise.

This property is everything described and more. We had a wonderful, relaxing 4-day stay during Kernville's Whiskey Flat Days. Even got to ski and snowboard at Alta Sierra. The kitchen was outfitted with everything you'll ever need for cooking meals. Plenty of firewood to make a warm fire. Comfy sofas for unwinding with a book. You'll wish to stay longer!

This was our third visit to the Alta Sierra area in as many years; it's the perfect winter "snow" trip for our family, since we're not big skiers or snowboarders, but we still want the experience of doing either if we want without the big resort crowds or prices. In the past, we've stayed at two different cabins in the area, but none were as well-kept, spacious and perfect for our family of four. The cabin is well situated, enough parking, easy to get to and plenty big enough! I loved the new kitchen and the kids loved their loft bedroom area, while the hubby enjoyed the hot tub (well, we ALL enjoyed that). To call it a cabin really doesn't do it justice, as it's very roomy and well accomodated, new, neat and clean with modern appliances and amenities. We look forward to staying here again next year, and would most definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Owner response: Thank you for recognizing our hard work and the care we have put into our "cabin". Look forward to your return visit.

We were looking for a fishing trip to Kern River late in the season. Luckily for us,we found the listing of this beautiful home and we had a wonderful, relaxing weekend. This place is so quiet and peaceful. The home was very well done, clean and had everything you need. I did not want to leave. We loved our fishing adventures each day but we were anxious to come back to the home and hang out. Perfect getaway and not far from southern california.

We stayed in this lovely cabin with our three teenagers and had a perfect family vacation. Charming, well appointed, clean and comfortable, this place has it all. We took a scenic walk, sunned on the porch, watched a movie from their well-stocked library, and had the most relaxing and lovely time imaginable. It's a beautiful drive down the windy road to Kernville, where we had a delicious dinner, and back to this fabulous, quiet mountain retreat. There was even a fantastic selection of magazines on the coffee table! We enthusiastically recommend renting this special cabin!

We thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful new home! The first thing we noticed was the quiet - all we could hear was the rustle of the breeze through the leaves! The location is ideal - close to town, but we almost passed it, thinking we had gone too far into the forest! Even though there are a couple neighbors nearby, we felt like we had a little slice of the forest to ourselves! The upstairs bunks were comfortable and loved the windows perfectly appointed so each sleeper could keep the window open or closed for breeze/view. The kitchen is modern and fully equipped. The open style living, dining room and kitchen makes it fun and easy for a group like ours to cook and hang out together. The best part is the wonderful large deck and hot tub. A perfect get away for groups or family. Can't wait to go back!
