Unique, picturesque, peaceful, seaside, artisan.....some of the words used to describe Victoria by the Sea, Prince Edward Island where our Starfish Beach House is located. Sitting next to the historic Victoria lighthouse The Starfish offers 5 acres of privacy, yet a leisurely stroll down our lane finds you right in the heart of the village where you can enjoy all it has to offer.
Our beach house is in a great central location for you to explore the island on your vacation or if you prefer to just kick back and enjoy all the village and the south shore has to offer you could spend your whole time relaxing close to home. You will wake up every morning looking at the water and then come downstairs to magnificent views while you eat breakfast and plan your day.
We like to spend a couple of weeks staying at our beach house every summer. It's hard to resist the slow pace the village has to offer yet there is always something to do. The public beach to the left of the wharf is a great place to spend an afternoon listening to the sounds of the kids wharf jumping. There are public washrooms to the right of the parking lot and lots of choices for food just a stroll away. If the sun gets too hot it's easy to take a break and spend some time browsing the shops. We never let summer get away without spending some time (a few times) sitting on the deck of Island Chocolates sipping our lattes and eating a few chocolates.
Keywords: Beach house, privately located, 4.5 acres, adjacent to historic lighthouse, local artisans, unique village.

We had a great vacation in PEI - this cottage was perfect. It was clean and spacious and had tons of outdoor space for the kids to run around. Connie and Steven were a pleasure to deal with and answered all of our questions quickly. The village of Victoria-by-the-Sea is wonderful and relaxing - no need for a car. We would definitely come back here to this cottage.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, tourists without a car, sightseeing, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.

There were 6 of us, 4 adults and 2 kids 9 & 13. We stayed for 2 weeks. The place was exactly as stated. There was plenty of room for all of us. The adults had the upstairs bedrooms, with the bathroom between them and the kids slept downstairs and had their own bathroom. Worked out really well. The pictures of the property are accurate and the kids had races on the front lawn. It is perfectly located for sightseeing as it sits right about the middle of the island. We travelled about almost every day. A must-see is Anne of Green Gables Village. We spent all afternoon there going through the Victorian houses and checking out the school-house, etc. We had a fabulous 5-course dinner at St. Annes. Excellent. We saw all the lighthouses around the island and I even climbed up to the top of one. Now that was an experience. I'm 74 and it was a climb but I wouldn't have missed it for the world. The property itself was clean, well-kept, and the photos were exactly as shown. I spotted the house across the water and recognized it immediately. Would I stay in this beach house again? In a heartbeat. The village itself is unique and we spent a few hours sitting on the deck of the chocolate factory eating bon bons and sipping a cappaccino. What could beat that? Maybe the lobster at the wharf.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We recommend this house without hesitation. Everything you need, comfortable beds and furniture, clean uncluttered environment, big well-maintained property. Kid friendly. Situated on the red sands coast and in close proximity to Charlottetown and spectacular beaches. Walking distance to nice restaurants (reserve ahead to ensure a table, especially at landmark café and pub on wharf) and the fish market is just down the street. We'd love to go back!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.

About the owner: We only have this one rental property and like to stay here ourselves. The satisfaction of our guests is very important to us. We think vacations are good for the soul and everyone should have an enjoyable one. Our kids are of all different ages with the oldest two living on their own. Our youngest at home is 8 and next in line an 18 year old. Steve (the old guy) fishes lobster on the north shore of PEI in the spring. Connie makes sterling silver jewelry from our 185 year old farmhouse. We have a farmers' market on our property Sat. mornings from 10 - 2.
Why the Owner Chose Victoria:
Having worked and played in the village for decades we felt lucky to get the opportunity to put a vacation home here.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
