I accidentally found this place and I am so glad I did. The owner was prompt in answering my inquiries and was easy to contact when I had any questions. Initially, I was nervous about fitting all six of us (four adults and two small children) in the cabin, but there was plenty of room and it was so comfortable with all of us! The outdoor space was incredible with the proximity to the McKenzie River and I couldn't get enough of it. I feel so lucky that the family is willing to share this cabin. It is truly a special place with a great vibe. We will definitely be back again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

My family and I just visited the cabin for a long weekend and it was great! The cabin sits right on the river and the decks make you feel like you're right in the river. They have kept the charm and rustic feeling of the cabin. We will definitely be back!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We highly recommend this cabin! My husband and I stayed here last October for my birthday weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed the "old soul" of this place with cozy character, full privacy, mossy green everywhere, sounds of the river permeating our stay. Our favorite moments involved warming by the fire (both inside and outside), relaxing in the hammock listening to the river, mushroom hunting and exploring/ hiking by day, soothing ourselves in the hottub and watching the river and stars by night. Truly magical. We look forward to a return visit!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

If you like privacy for whatever whimsy strikes you, the sound of the power of running water to cleanse your mind, starlight and moonlight, laughter, dancing, puzzles, fishing, friends, food, and moment to moment living........this is the place to do it all!! Or, if you have taken one of those Wingnut seminars and you are getting in touch with your inner self, or inner child, or inner strength, or inner peace, or inner light, or inner writer, and you cherish little chirping animals, birds singing, fireplace crackling, journal writing and drawing, sage and incense, this is the place to do it all! The owner is easy-going, warm, knowledgable about the property and area, willing to accomodate your needs, and deeply fond of his home. He wants you to enjoy yourselves! Well worth the stay.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

From the minute you drive up to this cabin you know you are in for a treat. We were warmly greeted by the owner, along with the tall trees that are all around this cabin. Our stay here was perfect! Only wish it was a little warmer so we could enjoy the outdoor seating areas that are so cozy and welcoming! Did a few day hikes along the McKenzie River and also a short but fun trip up King's Castle. Lovely place! Bring a book and a few games and enjoy!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed every moment we spent at this cabin! The river is right out the back door and so we were able to go fly fishing whenever we wanted. We kept warm by the fireplaces, both inside and outside, and very much appreciated having plenty of firewood. The kids loved staying in the loft, relaxing in the hammock and keeping a watchful eye out for the chipmunks. The owner was very friendly and made us feel right at home. We are very much looking forward to returning someday soon to enjoy this relaxing getaway!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

This is the type of place traditions are made and kept. Our family loved staying in this rustic cabin. Everything we needed was there; all we brought along was food and clothing. The river view is breathtaking and the sound of flowing water extremely relaxing. The cabin is located centrally to many attractions and activities to make for a full itinerary. The spacious deck space overlooking the river is awesome, as is the hot tub and hammock. I recommend staying at least 2 weeks. Our group consisted of four adults and was accommodated comfortably. I cannot wait to visit this cabin in the winter time! You will not be disappointed enjoying this area and cabin!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

What a relaxing and enchanting time we had at such a beautiful place! Plan on staying for more than a couple days unlike we did because you will not want to leave...But it does also make the much needed, perfect and quick getaway from the city as well! Like mentioned in the other reviews, the pictures do not do it justice. Cannot say enough...Hurry and find out for yourself!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We had a great stay at this rustic style cabin - older but with a very good kitchen and bath, fun decor and excellent beds. The cabin is secluded and private, in the woods and by the river - what more could you ask? We made good use of the outdoor patio and fireplace, especially in the evening listening to the sound of the water rushing by. Lots of good hiking in the area and not too far to the market and several restaurants. The cabin and location met our expectations, and we hope to return . . .Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

I hesitated writing this review as I was concerned that it might hinder my ability to return any time I want! The photos do not do this cabin justice! Our stay was perfect in every way! The owners are incredibly friendly and helprul, the cabin is beyond anything I could have dreamed, and its setting right on the river is probably the best site anywhere on the McKenzie River! It's very rustic and comfortable and you feel like you're part of the family. There are numerous decks and sitting areas as well as a hot tub and the sound of the river is soothing beyond belief. I spent my entire time on the hammock reading a book, napping, and watching the rafts go by! Set right in the tall timber, the cabin, itself, has enough of everything to be able to entertain a party of 25! And, if you have kids, the loft is a place that your kids will remember forever! I could go on and on but let it suffice to say that if you want a getaway and you just want to bond as a family or a couple, this place is perfection! But if you're looking for a condo and going out every night, this probably is not for you.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children.
