We call our house Cristalera, which means window in Spanish, because our favorite feature of the house is the windows, which afford 360 degree view of the mountains, city and beautiful desert landscape. A trip to New Mexico can be as active or as relaxing, as adult-oriented or as family friendly as you choose. Our house accommodates families (including larger families) or multiple couples with four bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms. We have three queen beds and a king bed in the master bedroom. The master bath has a large jetted tub. With 2850 square feet indoors, plus plenty of outdoor living space there is plenty of room to relax.
Our house is surrounded by private courtyards and natural, southwestern landscaping. The covered back deck has an outdoor fireplace. In addition to the comfortable living room, there is a family room with a wii game console and dvd player. Both living room and family room have direct tv. There is high speed wireless Internet service in the house as well. The fully stocked kitchen is handy either for cooking meals or just snacks. Eight people can eat in the breakfast room or eat outside on the covered deck. You will be sure to see rabbits, road runners, hummingbirds, quail and lizards in the yard. We often see deer. For your convenience, there is a full size washer and dryer. Your vehicle will fit in our two car garage or in the spacious driveway.
Cristalera is located in a quiet, secluded residential area in the foothills of the Sandia mountains. The house is a five minute drive from the Sandia Tramway and from numerous hiking and biking trails. It is a fifteen minute drive to the historic and cultural offerings of downtown Albuquerque and a twenty minute drive to the University of New Mexico. Cristalera is a 25 minute drive from the Sunport international airport in Albuquerque. Santa Fe is an hour drive.A variety of supermarkets, pharmacies, department stores and restaurants are only a few minutes’ drive away (including Trader Joes, Target, Albertsons, CVS, Barnes and Noble, Starbucks)

Why the Owner Chose Albuquerque: Someday we will retire to Albuquerque. Until then we eagerly await the visits we make to New Mexico a few times every year. After our first family vacation to New Mexico in 2009, we found that we couldn’t stop dreaming about returning and kept planning return visits. We love the climate and the natural beauty of New Mexico, the delicious local food and the amazing history and culture of the area. We have yet to meet anyone in New Mexico who isn’t friendly and welcoming. There is so much to do. Every time we visit Albuquerque, we come home with a longer list of places to see and things to do on our next visit.
The Unique Benefits at this House: Cristalera is located in the peaceful and quiet residential area in the foothills of the Sandia Mountains. We are enthralled by the beautiful views that surround the house and thrilled by the regular visits of local wildlife. The house has plenty of space to relax, indoors and outdoors, and has comfortable bedrooms and a convenient and pretty eating area. I love to look out the back window while cooking at bunnies and birds in the backyard and the city below. On a recent Fourth of July, I had the unique experience of sitting on the back deck in the evening and looking down on the celebratory fireworks exploding in the city.
